When I Was 8 or 9 my two favorite music artists were Hank Sr. and the Beatles. At the time I had no idea Senior was one of the most iconic legends in country. I just loved his music. Back in the day we all loved the Beatles, but had no idea they would go on to sell more albums and singles than any artist in the history of Amerian recorded music.
Your comment brings back memories when I was 15 or 16 years old back in the early 1960s. I had purchased several of Hank Williams 33 and 1/3 albums and would sit and listen to them a lot. One day after school I was listening to Hank and my dad walked in. He literally stunned me when he said, "Oh that's one of the songs he sang when we watched him at Buck Lake Ranch." I was astonished to find that I had heard him sing in person. I did remember our visit but also that I was more interested in a clown on a unicycle that performed. than to the singers. But it makes me happy to know that I actually heard him sing.
Will you people stop with this Hank Williams, Sr. business. There was Hank Williams (Hiram King Williams) and there is his son (Randall Hank Williams) who took up the stage name Hank Williams, Jr. There was no Hank Williams, Sr. There was the one and only Hank Williams.
Such a haunting song for the way things seem to be going. Rest In Peace, Hank. You put into words the way so many of us feel.
I swear he says "i hear an old freight rolling down the line"
Downright chilling if you suffer from Hank's restlessness
I certainly do. I should have lived in the time he did.
I do, I used to hop them freights and I want back on, but I got possessions holding me down
@@ronaldmullins8445lol you think you can't today?
Thanks for posting these brilliant lyrics from the "Hillbilly Shakespeare"

I feel like this every dadgum day of my life.
Nothin' better than an old minor key train song
It blows my mind that this is a "Luke The Drifter"song.

@@tenshib5951 I hear you, but I still can't stand that Sr. How about calling him Hank Williams the First.😀
The way you put it, there is no Hank Williams, so how about you get your panties out of a wad and enjoy the music
