  • Still in the Derwent Fells area, this time heading towards Buttermere and Buttermere Fell. "Moss Force" waterfall was severely depleted due to so many weeks lack of rainfall. A return is on the cards after substantial precipitation as I'm sure that sight will be impressive. Superb weather continuing but with a mighty wind when out of shelter. Another video 'by request', and I hope that you enjoy it. Thanx for your time, JimC.

Hi Jim, I hope you are well. Newlands Hause is a great place to park up and make a drone flight. You are right about Moss Force being a shadow of it’s normal self. It is well worth a return visit after heavy rainfall. You shouldn’t have too long to wait! The journey along the road from Keswick to Buttermere is so attractive, especially the winding steep descent into Buttermere. From Newlands Hause you can easily walk up Knott Rigg to the north, leading to a fine ridge walk along to Ard Crags. I walked the parallel ridge of Whiteless Pike, Wandope, Crag Hill and Sail on the last day of my holiday in May. I started the walk at the lovely spot of Rannerdale Farm on the shore of Crummock Water, finishing at the Swinside Inn, an old watering hole. I have really enjoyed all four of your videos of the Newlands Valley, and greatly appreciate you following up on my request. As to what you can do now, well maybe you could repair your camper van. Good luck with that, cheers Paul

Hello again Paul, thanks once again for your comments and your usual comprehensive description of the area. I'm very pleased that you've enjoyed my exploration of your favourite area. I do intend to return - and especially to Moss Force when there's water in it. Newlands Hause and the road down to Buttermere were already planned, preferably when less windy - nearly blew me over that day as I clambered up the slope to expose myself to the howling! Haha, camper van? It's been in the garage for weeks, no sign of progress I'm afraid, if I'd known I would have taken it elsewhere. May get it back by winter. Hey, almost cleared all the editing! Hope you'll still be watching in the future. Cheers for now, JimC

Hi again Paul, thanks for subscribing - and it was good to see that you're still there. I've returned to Newlands area many times since (including a rather wet Moss Force!). I will be posting more as time goes on and I hope you will enjoy them. Take it easy, thanx again, JimC.

@@FlightsOfFancy2020 Hi Jim, I was checking out your channel tonight to see which videos you had uploaded recently. I see that you have been travelling outside of the Lakes. I’m glad to see that you revisit the Newlands Valley and enjoy your trips there. There has been plenty of opportunity lately to see Moss Force in spate! Take care, Paul

@@paulhodge2266 Hi Paul, hope things are good with you. Well, remember the huge editing backlog I'd built up and was struggling to clear? All these later postings have been out of those, so cover some time. I don't want to post too many in one go (hopefully so I don't burn things out), so just try to put one up every 10 days or so. Still got a fair few ready and yet more to be uploaded when they start running out! Thanks again for subscribing - to be honest I thought you already had. Been back to 'your' area very many times, including Buttermere & Bleaberry Tarn and I must put some more 'local' ones up 'cos I know you love the Lakes. Good to hear from you, cheers, JimC.

@@FlightsOfFancy2020 Hi Jim, yes I did subscribe before. I ended up getting constant notifications on my phone from all the Lakes channels I subscribed to. In the end I cancelled all the subscriptions. I didn’t realise at the time that it was possible to subscribe and opt out of the notifications. Now I am resubscribing to my favourite channels, yours being right up there! Buttermere and the walk up to Bleaberry Tarn is special. I look forward to seeing your future content, Take care, Paul
