😂😂😂😂🎉
I think you're really onto something here Dave. A few leading teachers start to recognise that rhythm is more important than harmony but that there is almost no educational material.
Notes are ALWAYS secondary to tone/time/rhythm/phrasing/articulation/etc
Great video Dave - rhythm is the backbone of music! It's something I never tend to think about actively while improvising. Definitely trying this out!
Yooo 1000%!
Good video! I need more “transcription simplification” in my life tbh; it’s easy to simply avoid transcription because it’s too overwhelming when you feel you gotta “do it all!”
Thanks! I agree 100%
The moment you said efficient you touched me, great video !
That’s what i’m all about when it comes to practicing!
Love it. That was really great teaching! Those were really cool lines coming from that rhythm.
Thank you!!
This is the stuff!!!! An absolute must-do as a musician, awesome job as usual Dave!😁🙌
Yes sir!!
Great lesson Dave. Thanks so much!
You’re welcome! 🙏
Very nice, thanks for sharing one more pearl Dave!
You’re very welcome!
This is a breath of fresh air, I play guitar and get more from the first half of your vid than all the over done pentatonic/2-5-1/modal landslide out there. I have been doing this in my playing but actually didn't realise, til now, what I was doing. Thanks,
You're very welcome!
You really succeed in providing us with efficient ways to improve. Thank you!
You're welcome! Glad you like this
It's the way I learn impro. Usually at work I repeat a chosen rhythm the whole day from memory. Later at practice I apply starting by the roots of a progression and so on
Thanks so much for getting this one out, Dave! Appreciated! And this line is SUCH a great lick, stands out in that solo (which is just fab all round).
Much appreciated!
Cool! Step by step progress through compartmentalization!
Been playing about 15 years, never thought of doing it like this. Keep making content dude!
You got it!
I love it that as an alto player I can connect with your approach. So many educators out there are tenorman. Now, to me that’s a different ‘sounds set’ . . . I play tenor too.
Alto for life!
Thanks Dave. Great video / great information as always!!!
You're welcome Nico!
Excellent! Thank you
You're welcome! Glad you like it.
Hi , thanks dave this is a fantastic way of learning to write our own music😊
You're welcome!
Your ideas always give me aha moment!
Awesome to hear!
Beautiful information
Thank you! 🙏
Great vídeo. Thank you
🙏
What an excellent video, Dave! I’m really digging these major 9 sounds. Gotta love iii chords. I’ve noticed this rhythmic quoting happening in my own playing recently.
I’ll certainly be using the rhythm that you demonstrated today, as well remaining attentive to new rhythmic ideas going forward.
Cheers.
So glad to hear that! Thanks for the kind words.
This is awesome!
Glad you dig it!
Yes sir!
