If you drive less than 40 miles round trip per day. The electric drive is alot better. 40 miles at 1.30 dollars for 40 miles charge versus 44 mpg which is 44 miles at 3.75 on 44 miles to a gallon.
I agree the gasoline car is better (example: Cruze Eco at 44mpg and $19,000) but some of your criticisms make no sense. The Volt has no range anxiety because it has unlimited range just like any gas car .
Still got the Volt? Thinking about buying one...wondering how it does when going up hills towards the mountains. We have a bunch here in the great NW! Thanks.
Last month I got 51 miles on a charge traveling at 55 miles an hour on the freeway. I suspect if I were traveling at 35 or 40 miles an hour I could get almost 60 miles on a charge... costing me about 60¢.
Oh yeah. The higher the amps, the greater the chances of you getting brown outs in your home if you have tons of power electronics in your home. But, if you're not using any of those. There's no problem in using higher amps. And, certain electrical lines in your home has a maximum current carrying a capacity of 10 amps before the circuit breaker trips. So, if you want to connect to a 120v that has 10 amps capacity, you want to choose the 8 amps
We miss u
