About One Hour One Life
This game is about playing one small part in a much larger story. You only live an hour, but time and space in this game is infinite. You can only do so much in one lifetime, but the tech tree in this game will take hundreds of generations to fully explore. This game is also about family trees. Having a mother who takes care of you as a baby, and hopefully taking care of a baby yourself later in life. And your mother is another player. And your baby is another player. Building something to use in your lifetime, but inevitably realizing that, in the end, what you build is not for YOU, but for your children and all the countless others that will come after you. Proudly using your grandfather's ax, and then passing it on to your own grandchild as the end of your life nears. And looking at each life as a unique story. I was this kid born in this situation, but I eventually grew up. I built a bakery near the wheat fields. Over time, I watched my grandparents and parents grow old and die. I had some kids of my own along the way, but they are grown now... and look at my character now! She's an old woman. What a life passed by in this little hour of mine. After I die, this life will be over and gone forever. I can be born again, but I can never live this unique story again. Everything's changing. I'll be born as a different person in a different place and different time, with another unique story to experience in the next hour...

This is so cool, starting a family and protect the monolith. Imagine if one of those babies that quit your village also watches your video, and later found out it was you.
I survived to 60years on my first try in this game by just running around eating everything.

I only played 2hol, but my second game my mom was lost in the wilderness when she had me and she starved right when I was old enough to eat, so I just wandered around eating wild food. I got to 40 before I was killed by a boar that was hidden behind a tree. I had enough food to last a lot longer lol

It seems like they need to add in a big respawn penalty for people who kill themselves like that. Any time a game like this gets more developed less players will want to be born to eves because it requires starting from scratch but that severely impedes game play

Crazy-Eyes Ginger is the best Eve to start a Monolith civilization.
It's so frustrating how many kids insta die lately... It's hard to have a good eve start or to keep a town going when most of your kids/girls chicken out of here
Yesterday I had such a good eve start but all of my kids (8) but one boy killed themselves! (AND he was super new)
I don't understand what's the point, just play the game mate! This game relies on cooperation if you want to actually achieve anything but if you not up for it then it's not the game for you...
vytae9 I like to play in new civilizations or even as an Eve. But some players want to play in bigger cities, so may be they can learn new job, explore new features that they have never seen or may be they just want to reborn on their last village to help it and don’t let the village dies (I do that when I die as an Eve). I think they are on their right, sometimes people like to change the style of gameplay, so it doesn’t get boring.
I am ok with suicidal babies, the problem is: when you have a suicidal baby, your cooldown resets so you have to wait more to have a new baby and sometimes you get too old and don’t have any girl in your village.
It literally kills a lot of family trees.
I was taking a look on my family tree and it ended because last generations had too much suicidal girl babies, my grand grand... grand grand granddaughter last words were “We are screwed no girls” because all of them died by sudden infant death or by starvation p years old (probably ran because some people don’t know /die command)

I love how when the life ends yall tell your family you love them and the kids say it it back no hesitation like, that's so wholesome. Also great commitment to the roleplay! Love that about the community.

this is why this game is amazing, a simulation of human development and civilisation, it proves scientifically that cooperation is above competition and douchebags don't contribute at all to civilisation and society, there is no free ride, economics works and logic is the basic of it all. Okay.. this village needs a new Rite of Passage. To pass the Rite of Passage here, you need only NOT be a twin; this is due to the fact there is SO much snow. If you are a twin, you are starved to death. Spread the new word!
Matth M I hate twins, yesterday I had twins and they ran away to ask food and I lost them, I was cooking pies and they started to eat a lot of them and feeding random people. I complaint about that and some minutes after I was stabbed by one of the twins. That family tree ended 2 generations after and my sis’s last words were “WHERE FOOD”, kinda sad.
Really like your videos. Playing OHOL too now. Would be great to have a tutorial series, like: how to start out alone in the wild, what to do, whats important. How to compost, how to build a well and what u can do with it. all this sort of stuff. But nvm, love your vids, really entertaining :)

do you think it possible to create a nomadic tribe, going from biome to biome depleting the resources and moving along? I suppose you would need a few carts to be able to do something like that
I have done it, it's tough but doable if you are less than 3.

this is my 3rd video of this, I have played one time and I died with a carrot in my hand, of starvation, at age 5, after trying to fumble berries out of this basket I found/stole.... you are crazy good. I got put next to a fire and breast fed by my mom, and abandoned before I could hold a berry in my hand.. I did get a berry in my hand before I starved though and tried to survive off of berries I could find outside of town.. usually bushes had 1 berry on them... while I looked around for a basket. Stupid basket got me killed, I couldn't fumble a berry out in time.
I'm not that good, I just played a lot and many things I now do automatically (but I guess that's kind of the definition of good, in a way). There's some players that make me look like a total noob is all I'm trying to say.
The best tips I can give you are a) Don't panic, b) Always know where your next three meals are, c) Get some clothing, it makes a massive difference in how often you have to eat.

You should do a solo challenge where you don't live in a village, you only have people living with you when you are raising them and then when they get old enough, find a village to drop them off it or let them wander off!

I'm having trouble with people taking my farms for whatever they want and they never let my carrots seed it makes me so mad and we end up having to scrape by with berries and sometimes die
