Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup czcams.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

How about the destroyer poker? You didn’t discuss that as an option. I only throw weedless baits for soft plastics so I use the freestyle down here in Florida around heavy vegetation. Been eyeballing that rod lately for frogging and soft plastics. Wish it was a couple inches longer though. Like a 7’4”-7’5” would be perfect for me. Also an 8” freestyle would be great if you can but a bug in megabass’s ear. Just curious of your thoughts on it. Thanks.

Does the 7'4" Heavy/Mod-Fast Poison Adrena have enough power to fish the magdraft freestyle? Was thinking of pairing that rod with a Zillion HD 7:1 reel and straight 15 lb. Tatsu for an all-around small swimbait (i slide 135, Working Class Zero 6" Battle shad, 6" magdraft, gantarel jr, Deps 145, etc.) setup (whether that involves trebles or single hook weedless rigging- baits within that 1-1.5 oz. range). I'm a smallmouth fisherman primarily so don't need to be throw anything bigger than 6"... Are there any modifications you would make to this rod/reel/line combo to make it best suited for this application?

That rod has so much power but a regular taper. You can do a lot with that rod like Ben said, I can fish around docks and cover. Then turn around and bomb a cast to open water.

The things your talking about are important however I challenge you really learn what makes a good rod. For example; are those rods on spine? Are they wrapped correctly? What kind of real seat do they have? How do we know the line guides are any good? Show us that those high end rods are worth the money. Spine them and let’s see if they’re made anywhere near correctly.
