      Thank you for that information! I love the net I just don't like the connector they use. The salt eats it in one season. I really appreciate that info! Thanks for watching and commenting! - J.T.

    Can i rig it with just gulp and bucktail without jigging it and letting it sit on bottom? Jigging is tiring man

      Also can I come fish with you? I am in Queens NY

      @nextdriftfishing  Před 19 dny

      You certainly can but your results probably won't be as productive. Fluke are attracted to the jigging motion.

    What brand is that cutting board? Any idea where I can get one that mounts like that into two rod holders? Thanks!

    • @nextdriftfishing
      @nextdriftfishing  Před 18 dny +1

      I had that board custom built by Boat Outfitters. I mounted two rod inserts to the bottom and rod holders on the gunnel to slide it into. It is 46 inches wide and 30 inches deep. Cost was around $550

    What makes you decide on what color grub to use?

    • @nextdriftfishing
      @nextdriftfishing  Před 19 dny

      Great question. There's a few elements I take into account.
      1. Water clarity
      2. Light level (sky) Is it cloudy or sunny
      3. What type of forage are the Fluke eating in that area?
      Squid - White, Glow, Pinkshine
      Mantis shrimp - New Penny, Nuclear Chicken
      Sandeels/Mackerel - Sardine, Mackerel
      4. Confidence and Feel - Salmon Red, Salmon Red, Salmon Red, Pink Shine 😀

    Do you not crank it once so the bucktail is swimming off the bottom slightly? Then start jigging rapidly? Because I feel as though they attack it looking up. And I noticed thats how John skinner does it in his videos. Curious

    • @nextdriftfishing
      @nextdriftfishing  Před 11 dny +2

      Great question. I do not do that when fishing for Fluke. You want the bucktail to be bouncing off the bottom. When it is hitting the bottom, it creates noise, which attracts fluke and it also creates a little puff cloud when you're fishing on a softer bottom which also attracts fluke. Skinner reels his bucktail up a crank when fishing for stripers on a sticky bottom. So make sure, when you're fishing for fluke, you are making bottom contact when working the bucktail! Thanks a lot for the question.

      @@nextdriftfishing makes a lot of sense. I have kind of being doing both. To varying success! Thank you for the reply!
