Just bought a share of this boat at Sailtime Newport Beach. Great way to get on the water and limit the cost of owning it by yourself. 18 knot winds and huge swells off shore on Sunday and she performed like a champ.

Beneteau is making some sleek-looking exteriors, and I appreciate the simple plywood interiors, but my gosh, for what they’re charging, it should be much more richly appointed. It’s outlandishly overpriced, but a great boat.
Selling modern boats as “minimalist styling” when in reality they’re just checking out and selling a cheap ikea furniture interior.
Which matches the cheap Ikea exterior.
@@peteredridge9559 I couldn't disagree with you more. I think the exterior looks awesome; that pearl grey really stands out, and the use of low-friction rings means there are no genoa car tracks on the deck. The lines are sleek outside for sure; she looks absolutely beautiful.
Compare the interior with any other 35-foot boat you like. Incredible use of space, good quality hardware... I think it is wrong to call this "Ikea look", if by that you mean cheap. Having seen the 30.1 (the smaller version of the 34.1) up close, I can tell you that the furniture and fittings are very high quality.

And 'no' this isn't the future of sailboats, it's just a clumsy attempt at getting noticed, dreamt up by the marketing department. So okay, I'll tone down the Ikea criticism because what I really meant to say is that it's hideous. Yep, hideous is about right.

For as much as they cost just having a marker for what's in a compartment is pretty lame..
Don't care for raked back spreaders. Love wing on wing straight downwind. I like tracks better than snaps also. .Better have 1 rear berth and a bigger head with separate shower. .
A major design decision of the new Oceanis line (from the 30.1 to the 51.1) is to maximize the size of the cockpit and ensure an unobstructed access to the swim platform. Once the swim platform is lowered, and the aft seats raised, there is nothing in the way of enjoying the swim platform (including a backstay to dance around). If you want to increase your downwind speed, then get a Code 0 for downwind sailing instead of relying on wing-on-wing.

Please tell me that the chainplates are more than three inches long, and are secured by more than six rivets, especially on a B&R rig... see 1:22. If you don't want a "backstay to dance around", maybe you don't want a mast to dance around either.
Nice vessel, but the head is anything but "spacious".

Dont care for the snaps instead of tracks, and the propane switch is in a horrible place. Easy to bump, or kids turn on.
Love the boat. Don’t like the snaps either.

nice room for a 34, just hate the IKEA woodwork. guess teak went out of style.
It sure did. I don’t want teak, but plywood is a bit of a low bar. I’d like to see a nice composite material made to look like a varnished teak, without the maintenance.
Someone needs to take his crayons away because this is what happens when you let a ten-year-old design a sailboat. It's not a sailboat, it has as much soul to it as a Sears tool box.
