We've compiled some of the highs and lows of Fritz’s quest to learn how to catch food. Sit back and enjoy a little ride through memory lane as Fritz is introduced to a steak, a strawberry, a chimichanga, a meatball, and more. Rest assured, Fritz lives a healthy lifestyle. I lost it at the pizza. It was going straight towards his mouth like an airplane and he moved at the last minute. Absolutely iconic
I just had to put my golden of 13 years down a couple of weeks ago. He was a natural at catching anything (which is why he was probably so chubby before the cancer). But anyway, this made me smile and remember the great times with him. Thank you so much for this =)
ALSO, to all the comments saying "oh you killed your dog by feeding him!!!". He had bone cancer. No correlation to feeding him snacks once in awhile. He was a perfectly healthy dog who was just a little on the chubby side. So please keep your ignorance to yourself.

Jeremy P I never gave those to my dog...Maybe once a week. He died of bone cancer and an old age of 13. That's something very common in goldens. To even comment saying I killed my own dog makes you a pretty vial piece of shit.

Holy crap...one of the hardest laughing fits I've had in a while. The variety of unorthodox food for dogs, the slow motion, the music, the 'splat' sound effects, and the consistent failure to catch the food. Dogs are so damn cool...

I once worked as a "Scareactor" at Universal studio's Halloween Horror nights and as I was scaring someone they hit me in the face with a sandwich and it had like sharp jagged cripsy bacon pieces.

I love this because it reminds me of my Golden so much. The absolute confidence to go for the catch every single time, and the total lack of coordination, failing to catch every time. It's beautiful.

It’s funny, he shows no other signs of bad eyesight. He’s much better with a tennis ball. I think he might get overly excited with the food and he commits too soon!

haha no I definitely don't let him eat all this. I intercept the food and he gets a little. Plus, he only gets a food tossed to him about once a week. The rest of the time he eats healthy dog food and exercises to maintain his manly physique.

Jaahh Rastafari When I worked at Baskin Robbins this old guy would come in with his dog once a month to collect balls of scooped ice cream that fell under the gallons, but still in the refrigerator, to give to his dog. The dog was 16 years old. I can positively say that ice cream does not harm dogs, just like it doesn't harm you. The dog also ate M&M's though, so maybe he just had a stomach of steel.
***** it hurts them when they get pancreatitis and have to be hospitalized on IV fluids. fact check me. it's a real thing, and that 'treat' winds up costing you a few thousand dollars.

I have tried watching this video 3 times now, and haven't really been able to see much of it through the veil of tears from laughing so hard. But the *thunk* noise tips me to what happened lol
It reminds me so much of my retriever too. No matter how old he got, how much practice, he'd always go to catch the food, then as soon as it got close he'd flinch away and get smacked in the face with it. However, I found if you didn't give him any lead-up, and just threw something at him without warning, he'd instinctually catch it without blinking.
Oh god me too, I was crying and wheezing watching this. My old golden Mojo couldn't catch either. He used to put his paws up too, which made it even more hilarious.

BreezLeMeep Y Not true. Certain fruits (and other foods) can poison dogs. Grapes in particular are even worse than chocolate.

This is probably not /too/ healthy for the dog, but that aside, this is one of the most adorable videos on youtube. The music just enhances the cuteness. And besides, nothing wrong with being cute and having a little unhealthy snack now and again (considering he never caught anything until the fry).

I've had two Goldens, and neither could catch anything UNLESS it could bounce. Tennis balls, apples, meatballs, YES. Frisbees, Beggin' strips, no.

Lol, our family had a golden retriever that couldn't catch either. My dad would constantly poke fun, while my mom would defend the dog claiming that we weren't throwing the food properly. I think it was a bit of both, which could be said about the video and which makes it all the more hilarious. The slo-mo, music and sound effects were perfect. I haven't laughed so hard in years.
My RottieX wouldn't catch food either. She had to let it hit the ground and inspect it thoroughly with her nose before she would touch it.
