- The Skoda Fabia won the What Car? Car of the Year Award a few years back, in part thanks to its fine road manners, comfortable interior and affordability. The Fabia Estate builds on the hatch’s already impressive credentials with the addition of an even larger boot.

The estate is soooo much better looking than the hatchback. It looks balanced.
aaarrrrgggghhhhh! The scratchy plastic test! Who the Hell goes around scratching their dashboards with painted nails for Chrissake.
Omg Rebecca talking normally and not trying to put on a odd presenter voice that goes up and down as the sentence is delivered. This is SO much better, keep it up :D
Adz Fielding Thought this too. So much better.
Yes, much better. Glad to hear she is trying to oust the Quentin Wilson voice.
Thank God. Now I can watch her reviews. She's listened to the complaints.
As an owner of the car for 5 year now and looking at 3 different reviews of this car on this channel i'm suprised by the points that they bring up ...
All the things that have botherd me over the years are totally the opposite here .
-plenty of power with a full booth they say... i've got the 109bhp version and even that one struggles with a full booth on the motorway .. up to 70mph is its power zone . If you
Want to do an quick overtake you'll have to go down to 5th it really lacks power in sixt @ those speeds .
Plenty of space in the back even for adults ... also not really true . If you have someone that is 1.80m in the front you will have to put the seat almost all the way back to let him sit comfortable .. so the back wont have the space . I personally could fit a maxi cosi behind the drivers seat because of that issue .
3th is the sound proofing .. try to listen to the radio on a normal volume . Then step out of the car even with all doors and windows shut. You'll almost won't notice a drop in volume .. i find this sometimes quite annoying when coming home late @night.
It's not that i want to hate on the car it really served me well over the years and i really like . For that price range i dont think you will find a beter car (sold new) . I just realised while watching this that the cons i have had with the are told there like they are pro's...
well if you made it all the way here . Thanks for reading such a long comment 😀 hope it helps you in making a choice
The Estate is 10" longer than the Hatchback, but what a difference those few extra inches make for load carrying!
Great review Rebecca!
How come the estate version of the Fabia gets a variable boot floor, but the hatchback version doesn’t?
Nice review. Slightly amazed this car has more boot space than my (fairly generous) BMW!
Can you explain the Distance control on the cruise control which comes standard
I find these reviews so handy for when I choose a car for rent. Living in Africa doesn't allow me to know many of the models available in the UK and Europe.
Nice review.
I think it supposed to be compared with clio wagon for example bcs its a city car focus is compact car...
Why do you use the Prefacelift and call the Video 2020?
Ms. Jackson really makes any car review very interesting, even the most boring mundane ones.

Will be purchasing one of these over the new 2020 Honda Jazz because Skoda have ticked my boxes
reminds me very much of an older A3 and probably about the same size ?
Please make review on ssangyong rexton
2:45 Is there much sense comparing the interior quality to Audi A1, which literally costs 9000 euros more, the base model? For 9000 euros you better get switches made out of gold and ivory.
Lovely this is fine good looking Skoda car you are okay keep it up
The title says '2020' but it was uploaded in 2018?
Rebecca, I know you've taken a bit of flak lately i.e., the Quentin Willson comparisons, but this review is really good. As many comments say, just relax your voice a bit and don't be tense. Your reviews are so much better for it. And the banana returns!! So what a nice review:)
Becca looks incredible here!
Richard L I agree
What Car's videos in general became a lot better when they stopped doing those slightly pointless phone pairing segments.
The best first car estate you can buy in 2019
I wonder if this one really has suppressed road roar a bit . My current one, excellent as it is, suffers quite badly from road noise
Apart from the road noise, any issues? I'm in the market to buy one. My car is 13 yrs old and not sure if I trust it, although she has never broken down.
Whats with etstates these days not having flat loading lips and seats that do not fold flat ?
At this price it is so they can sell you a raised floor board option and still be able to claim the larger size for max boot space when comparing them with competition. Because it is just quoted in litre numbers and not shape 520 must be better than 480 etc right ...
I'm looking for a manual estate. Almost impossible. Even Mazda only make autos now. So looks like I might be stuck with Skoda for a daily run-about.
The Banana needs to be written into your next contract Rebecca. 😃
I was waiting for the inevitable banana to put in an appearance! Good to see she's getting her potassium.
So, what's the difference between Škoda Fabia Estate and Škoda Rapid Spaceback?
A bit less space the Spaceback has a more sloping roofline
Such a cheeky and stylish little model, glad she gets up to speed fairly easily even with a full boot, would love to take her for a spin a few times :)
David I see what you did there :)
I get seconds !
How does the 74 horsepower version compare to a bugatti chiron?
shbitz I would say it's a fairly close comparison. Obviously The Fabia is SLIGHTLY down on power but you don't notice it much on the road😉
CrazyAboutCars 84 i like these kind of replys . Short snd technical . Cheers .
shbitz have a nice day!
Back seat dont fold flat
What colour is it?
Red
How does this compare to the skoda skala? Same angines, same interior. Is the skala a newer platform??
Yes, the newest platform and is quite a step up in how it drives in comparison to Fabia.
@@Obalcan Would you prefer the Skoda Skala over the Fabia despite it's so much more expensive (at least in the Netherlands it is).
@@jefwisse1957 I drove both. Scala is a big step up but is it worth the money? If you have the money to boot then by all means. If you don 't have it then Fabia it is. I personally will get me a 3 years old Fabia Combi (estate).
@@Obalcan Thanks for the response. I'm not sure what I will do. We are getting a little older and despite the Fabia has great seats we are thinking of buying a SUV. If I consider the prices of SUV's I probably will buy a Skoda or a Mazda.
@@jefwisse1957 have tried Skoda SUVs and not liking them.
I got the impression the facelift version being released at the moment doesn't have diesels?
the facelift revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in march, going on sale in the 2nd half of 2018, will not get any diesels.
hipkoole hmm... Certainly when I went to buy my Fabia last month, I wasn't able to buy a new diesel Fabia, factory order or stock... Odd...
This is not the 2019 model. It had a facelift in 2018 which is not shown here.
it might be the best in class, but the thing is, there are only 2 cars in this segment... Renault Clio estate and this one
Ibiza estate?
Dacia Logan MCV
That's all I can think of
Only armrest is missing, but i woud be happy with this Fabia.
You mean the armrest in the back?
@@jefwisse1957 , there is no armrest in the front.
Understanding that i am a bit of an old fossil i really can't stand the trend for piddly little engines. I couldn't drive a mid sized estate car like this with a 1ltr petrol or 1.4 diesel. Where are all the 2.0 engines? Not for me which is a shame because otherwise this looks like a good car.
sonofjak1971 Because a 1.0 turbo has the same power output as a naturally aspirated 1.6 from the 2000s, and more torque.
I'm fully aware of all the numbers which is partly why i refer to myself as an old fossil. They might all have more than enough power and torque but i don't want a vehicle that sounds like a strangled chicken every time i put my foot down. It just doesn't sit right for me personally.
to be honest, i own the tsi 95, the sound is actually very nice, kind of like an old bmw 6 cylinder, plus it loves to rev ;)
I owned a 1.6 (115 PS) naturally aspirated Astra H before, the Fabia with 110 PS is quicker and you don't need to rev it as much. Fuel consumption is down from 6,5 l/100km to 5,2 l/100km after 8.000 km. Neither the Astra nor the Skoda sound interesting to me. Definitely a downside of the skoda is not the engine noise but road noise. Seems like Skoda tried to save some money on sound insulation. But overall it is ok for the price ...
sonofjak1971 oh dear! Get a 40 year old volvo then! Hopefully these small engines are not blowing up as often as they used to!
Is the lady a part of the basic model? Maybe I would buy it despite the steering wheel on the wrong side. ;-)
👍ŠKODA FABIA🥇👋
Anyone see how many messages rebecca had 3:23
This is not a 2020 model could be 2017
147,000 emails? OCD kicking in
and what is a FARBIA?
It’s FABIA ...... A . Not Farbia.
Chip tune the 1.2 petrol 120 hp to 170 hp and it flies
Well, after i saw the review i just bougt a new fabia state! very happy by the moment. We finish really angry with our for mondeo state mk4.....shit car!
Such an attractive hostess. Love her accent
I bought a 2009 Fabia estate 1.4 diesel a few months ago, despite it's low mileage, 64mpg and engine reliability I have had problem after
problem with it. The alarm randomly goes off, the tailgate refuses to open (negates any use as an estate, the reason I bought it), bits of
trim falling off, dreadful steering. It's true I only paid £2.5k for it plus I had the cambelt done and new tyres. But in all honesty it's the
worst car I've ever bought in 40 plus years of car ownership, it's a pile of crap and worthy of every skoda joke going (and there's plenty of
them). Perhaps the newer ones are built better? but from my experience I wouldn't risk it.
I bought one in 2013. So far I spent € 63,00 on a new battery and € 256,00 on a new dynamo. I have driven 135.000 km and it still runs very smoothly. In our country (the Netherlands) the garage wo sells you a car is legally responsible for the quality during 6 months after you bought it even though they sell it to you without any warranty. I think in your case it is bad luck and I don't know if you have any legally means to force the seller to restore your problems with the car. Have you held the seller responsible for the problems with the car and what was his response if you did that?
Sorry for my poor English, I ment of course the alternator.
Bring it to India !!
Just get a Skoda Octavia.
Exactly! And actually good car!
Not if you have to use it to carry large items regularly, Sedan boots don’t really work..
@@millmoormichael6630 Octavia is not a sedan it's a hatchback. And there is an estate as well.
"Just get a much more expensive car"
great advice bro
“Fabiaerreshtahte”
The video isn't in German, pal
In my country, this fabia is priced same as Focus 5d hatch, or hyundai i30 wagon etc. It has less equipment than those mentioned, eg only 2 airbags, until you reach the top level equipment. Very overpriced car. All skodas. Octavia same price as Mondeo, again, less equipped.
What country you live in?
Why back of this car must be so awful???
Seriously what's the point in a small estate you want an estate to be spacious the fabia ain't it's just a mundane Grandma car.
Price
@@evilmario6061 I agree, it's ver affordable.
I love the car but love Rebecca better. Lovely young lady.
Combi* Not estate Ma’am, Please do your research. We are dissapointed in you - Skoda Europe Team.
Estate is a local classification of a style of car. In NZ we call them the Skoda fabia Wagon. Do your research 😂
Estate car in England.
Ugly car at least Rebbeca looks stylish as usual
About as exciting as magnolia paint. It wasn't even worth reviewing.
Such a dated looking car. Snooze
The dullest car ever.
g00dfeeling you drive a french car don't you ?
It's as boring as she sounds reviewing it.
why such a masculine voice?... bad
