2024 Total Solar Eclipse | Spirit of Jasper “Ride into Totality” excursion | 4/8/24

On April 8th, 2024, another total solar eclipse was taking place across the US. One of these states in that path was Indiana and the towns of Jasper and Huntington, Indiana would experience the eclipse. Given that was happening and the fact that people form all over the world come and see these, the Spirit of Jasper dinner train based out of Jasper, Indiana decided to an excursion to an open field just outside of Huntington where passengers would disembark to watch the total eclipse. And since Jasper is just over an hour from where I live, me and some friends decided to ride the excursion. The consist for this trip was a GE 80 Ton switcher #6 pulling an Ex Milwaukee Road coach (the coach we were seated in) along with two former U.S. army cars that have all been converted into lounge cars. This was without a doubt a once in a lifetime experience and I am so glad to have been a part of it. Thanks for watching!
