Yes, same here because Snape ADORED Lily, and treated her with respect and kindness, save the one slip of the tongue while in an emotional crisis, while James merely liked her. Lily didn’t deserve Snape; not even close.
It's because Lily isn't perfect but there's so much more to her, and yet you see how Snape holds her as a treasure to him and doesn't see those parts. It fucking hurts
I agree I hate snape with a burning passion (idc if I get hate because it's my opinion and I have my reasons) and Lucius was a dick but this song is beautiful
Tbh there’s no evidence in the books that he loved Lily romantically at all. It could have been, sure, but it just as easily could’ve been love for a friend. He never even confessed his alleged romantic love for her, so he wasn’t even friendzoned to be bitter about it. When she rejected his apology and attempt to amend their friendship, he respected that and left her alone. Meanwhile James legit got romantically rejected by Lily multiple times and couldn’t take no for an answer. He legit bullied and humiliated her friend for years and told her he’d stop if she went out with him. Bruh. Tbh I think people think Snape’s a niceguy/incel because he’s ugly and greasy and poor and people think it’s creepy if an ugly, low class loves a higher class pretty girl. Plus James is handsome and rich so he doesn’t fit the common image of a niceguy. But like. Isn’t a niceguy literally James Potter? Who can’t respect a girl’s rejection of his romantic interest multiple times? Who threatens her loved ones to make her go out with him? Legit how is Snape a niceguy. If he was a niceguy/incel wouldn’t he have threatened her into going out with him? Wouldn’t he have stopped caring for her after she died? What niceguy switches sides in a war and becomes a spy just to save a girl? Lmao. He loved her. He legit loved her. There’s nothing wrong with loving someone who doesn’t love you back. It’s not creepy. It’s just creepy when you think you’re entitled to their love. Which Snape, who respected Lily’s rejection of his apology, who switched sides in a war to protect her and promised “anything” for her safety, who spent his life protecting her son after she was too dead to care... never was.
This song gets stuck in my head and I start singing it in class and in the halls and my friends always just side eye me and say "not that stupid musical again"
I like James Potter as a character, but I dislike a lot of his actions. Despite being portrayed as a hero of sorts, he WAS an asshole. Probably a good and loving (if slightly irresponsible) father, but he was a bully and an asshole as a student, who continuously targeted someone outnumbered, alone and vulnerable because he was bored. I don't like Snape in canon because even though he tried to make up for some of his bad choices, tried to do the right thing, he still bullied, humiliated and put down students, CHILDREN, who he was supposed to teach and help learn from their mistakes. Because James Potter's outnumbering attacks on a fellow classmate who was capable of both retaliation or asking for help, was nothing compared to a teacher, a person of authority, abusing his position of power to verbally hurt his young students, who could do little to fight back, and who knew that complaining was pointless because the headmaster wanted Snape to stay right where he was at Hogwarts. Because the difference between James Potter and Severus Snape, was that James Potter grew up (for however long he had left to do so).
This puts into words so much of what I felt about these two characters. James had his flaws, but Severus even more so. He also protected Harry but only because of a crush on a girl that he ultimately lashed out at because she didn't choose him.
@@Kristiekins2 when he practically rolled his eyes at Dumbledore saying “the boy survived” I realized that Snape couldn’t have truly loved Lily. he actually regretted coming to Dumbledore and trying to help them because the person he lusted after died. This is one of my favorite songs in the entire trilogy. The piano and singing parts are so beautiful, even though Joe Moses isn't the strongest singer he puts a lot of emotion into the words. Snape has always been my favorite HP character, I don't even know why. Yes, he's an asshole, and he acts horribly to Harry, James and Lily, but he really was incredibly brave and smart and the way he loved Lily hurts my heart. There was a time when I couldn't even see the word "always" without crying. And when he sees Lily in the mirror... This was one of the best songs in this great musical. I can't stop laughing how the real movie of Order of The Phoenix did a bad job at explaining the story of Snape but this musical managed to tell the whole thing in a three minuet song.
i really love this song. it makes me sad and happy at the same time. sad because of snape and his issues, but happy because i really love this show, and the guitar is just lovely.
I always liked Snape in the books and movies , I thought that something happend to him in the past to do with the family ! but I didnt think it was a love life or bullying , I thought it was steeling or somthing
This song will be playing in my head during the last movie when Snape dies. When I read in that book that he was actually good, I was so shocked. I felt terrible, because I had said to my friend that I hope he got killed. At first, I was happy when he died, then the truth was told, and I hated Voldemort even more.
this song is sooo sad but beautiful!!! joe's and tyler's voices just harmonise extremely well!! What!? THAT'S ABSURD!!!
I love the idea of this song. I wish the lyrics were stronger. But i understand Potter is hard to rhyme
This guys voice is just fantastic! He should seriously be on broadway, he's got the perfect voice for it!
Their voices sound inredible together... almost like only one guy is singing! Amazing song...
this is by far my favourite.
fantastic song
Great, now I'm crying. Thanks Hermon.
i always crack up at "So many assholes in my face" lol
Chills and tears
This was one of the best songs in this great musical. I can't stop laughing how the real movie of Order of The Phoenix did a bad job at explaining the story of Snape but this musical managed to tell the whole thing in a three minuet song.
i really love this song. it makes me sad and happy at the same time. sad because of snape and his issues, but happy because i really love this show, and the guitar is just lovely.
I always liked Snape in the books and movies , I thought that something happend to him in the past to do with the family !
but I didnt think it was a love life or bullying , I thought it was steeling or somthing
This gives me chills, everytime.
i never expected that voice to go with snape.... but i love it!
All jokes aside Tylers voice is amazing! Im glad hegot a bigger part in this one
I adored this scene and love this song!
This song will be playing in my head during the last movie when Snape dies. When I read in that book that he was actually good, I was so shocked. I felt terrible, because I had said to my friend that I hope he got killed. At first, I was happy when he died, then the truth was told, and I hated Voldemort even more.
Am I the only one who thinks this could be a "Nice Guy" anthem? I love the song, don't get me wrong, but the lyrics, oof
Oh my god Joe moses has a great voice!! i love the way he plays snape XD i couldnt take the new film seriously cos i just kept quoting AVPM/AVPS :D
This song has so much emotion! I love Lucius Malfoy's harmonies too
this song is sooo sad but beautiful!!! joe's and tyler's voices just harmonise extremely well!!
Besides I kind of didn't expect that joe has such a great voice behind his "snape-voice" - i mean all of them are great but you just did never hear joe's real one.
I'm going to listen to this now for about the 5th time in a row :p
This song is so beautiful! :')
I love listening to this song so much, and I just gotta say I don’t think people are appreciating joes vocals enough
