The funniest part about Norway's victory was that a lot of people saw it as breaking Ireland's winning streak... But don't realize that the blonde violinist is Fionnuala Sherry, a girl from Naas, Kildare, meaning Ireland still sorta had a win because an Irish person was a part of it. Secret Garden is one of my all time favourite bands!
Ireland was unstoppable!!
@@emmaginativeeurovision Indeed they were!
My Top5:
1. Spain
2. Norway
3. Slovenia
4. Greece
5. Croatia
Honestly I prefer Nocturne over Fairytale
Hands down!
Yes!
Norway will always be one of my favorite Eurovision songs ever. the music is just SO beautiful and perfect, nothing will ever top it. Winner, no doubt, no doubt. I almost feel bad for Spain because in MANY other years it would have won. It's a perfect entry. Annabel is amazing and the music it too. But sadly enough for them, Norway is there. Sweden, Denmark, France, Malta and Ireland

Why everyone hates Hungary
2:52...
wow, thanks for the 1st place! Great video btw, my favourites that year were Norway, Spain and Greece. :-)
Alex was great as well, I get goosebumps from that performance.
Nocturne !!! One of the most beautiful songs in eurovision. Well deserved winner!!! Besides Belgium that year... Dear God... so bad!!!
They sent worse (in 1973 for example) but it's not a good song to me either.
"Nocturne", however, is one of the Eurovision entries that touch the most intimate parts of my soul. Secret Garden does it almost every time.
My top 10 (from Greece):
1. Norway
2. Spain
3. Greece
4. UK
5. France
6. Ireland
7. Cyprus
8. Sweden

Spain underrated... También llevan propuestas de mierda en nuestro país, incluso este año con "votos del público" ha sido un tongazo (trampa, el jurado quería llevar a Channel a Eurovisión 2022).

Actually, I have 15 songs in my top 5 and 1 winner 😂😂😂
I'm glad you have Ireland so high! It's very underrated
I think most of people can't argue that this year was one of the best in Eurovision history and the best in 90s
23- Love this, a great summer hit in these times
22- A bit weird act, but it has its own magic, I like it actually
21- Not one of the bests here, but I like the calmness in this song
20- Not the greatest ballad in this year, it's good and it has a magic inside, but I can´t put higher than 15th place in this awesome year
19- Underrated song! Pretty old.fashined style of rock, but I love it, especially the ending part.
18- Not the best performance for them, but it clearly didn´t deserve last place. I have to agree, this is indeed interesting song. I just don't have any further comments about this.
17- Well, this song is one of the few songs, which I didn't like. I usually like Israeli songs, but in this case I find it rather uninteresting
16- Well, I like his voice very much, but song ruined it all. This was boring and I lost interest after first hearing.
15- Simply love this French entry.
14- Amazing voice and love gospel music, but it might be better and it would finish higher than 21st place.
13- He did a great performance, but the song was rather boring, if he only sent one of his better songs, he would have finished top 10 easily.
12- It's one of guilty pleasures in this year. I somehow like this entry and I´m glad you liked it too. This man reminds me of Ozzy Osbourne somehow. Please don't judge me because of that. xD
11- Amazing power-ballad from Spain. That ending part was magnificent.
10- A bit of jazz here! All parts except refrain were great.
9- I had to listen this entry repeatedly to like it. Now I find it that it's great.
8- MY WINNER! It's simply perfect, reminds me of old times somehow. Awesome song , amazing voice and singer. One of the best all time entries.
7- Great summer song by Austria. Definitely in my top 10.
6- Love this opera entry. It's magical and ending was simply touching and some kind of shocking at first.
5- Simply one of the greatest masterpieces made in music, but I just don't get it, that 90% was simply only music, because there has to be a certain amount of lyrical part, I know it`s amazing and fantastic and even I love her voice, but I should go for a "song contest" than just a "music contest".
4- Simply amazing. I love this calm music and his calm voice. I just enjoy listening it.
3- My 2nd. Simply one greatest of the masterpieces of Greek music. Love her voice, love this ethnic music so much. The beginning was so mysterious.Instrumental part was amazing. Nothing to say more about this.
2- Powerful voice and great singer, but there were a lot of better songs in this amazing year.
1- Awesome entry. This entry has everything positive! definitely in my top 5.
As a Jewish person, I find it funny you describe the Israeli song entry as a "Christmas" song because as it's from Israel (the world's Jewish-Majority country), it's probably more likely to reflecting Judaism.
Haha I know, a bit ironic
I love your top-3 !!!
Norway ❤
23- noooo ;-; this song is greaaat
22- my last oop
21- oh no this IS BEAUTIFUL
20- omg *.*
19- great
18- underrated tbh
17- AAAAH WIG FLEW
16- so beautiful;-;
15- YES GURL YES
14- underrated as well
13- meh
12- underrated again
11- amazing but somewhat overrated
10- ok
9- yeppp :)
8- DESERVES MORE LOVE
7- AAAAA YEEESSS
6- fairytale vibes
5- BEST SONG OF 90S ART MASTERPIECE EVERYTHING BLESSING
4- cute
3- YES OMG YES AMAZING
2- UNDERRATED GODDESS
1- ART
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CONTEST OF 90s !!!!

So question:
How come you don't like the British entry but yet you love the Danish entry of 1997?
Just asking, is just that both songs are so simillar.
Can you tell that I've been following your tops since forever

Finally,some respect to Iceland
Guys is Mike Spiteri a brother of Mary Spiteri?
Oh yes, exactly. The greek commentator back then stated that clearly during the show.
Turkey is my favorite Eurovision song of all time.
Well... thanks a lot from Turkey😁 I thought Sev was an underappreciated song but now I see so many support...

1 Spain
Te dejo las que gustan: España, Suecia, Croacia, Irlanda, .-
Different people, different tastes. One of the best ESC. My favourites : Spain, Norway (which in fact forgot that it was a song contest and not music one but the melody is OK) and Denmark. Cyprus so eurovision style and Israel as said by Agafya a choral song and signers in a rather very boring and repetitive song. France strangely so overrated.
About Portugal this year.... we had he best songs in Festival da canção... and the winner was the worst one...
Seriously
Pedro Migueis- Ainda é tempor
Teresa Brito- plural
Ana Isabel- Tanto Amor Tanto Mar
those were the best songs we had in festival da cnção and they all could out do give us a lot more that Tó Cruz... He did sang proffesionnally though

2:38, ah, I can see the resemblance of one of the Russian background singers to Matt Smith (coming from one Doctor Who fan to another, if that's what you are).
Of course! I like Classic Who more though :)
How did you get into it?
I have an intriguing idea--have you ever considered doing a Doctor Who Character Themes videos using Eurovision songs to represent the characters on the show (Doctors, Companions, Supporting/Recurring characters, Villains, Aliens, the TARDIS)? I saw a video made by Katariina Bloom where she combined Eurovision songs with Harry Potter characters. I am already thinking of a few matches myself.
harrietamidala1691 | That sounds like a fun idea! Thanks for the inspiration :) I'll see what i'll do in the future, but for now this channel is on hold for a while. As for how I got into Doctor Who, I got bombarded with it on Tumblr when I joined and started surfing there back in 2013. I looked it up and started watching from the very first episode and forwards, and managed to watch every single episode just in time for the 50'th Anniversary.
Who's your favorite Doctor, Companion, and Era? I'm putting up character and song suggestions in your discussion feed so to help you started if you ever want to do it. It would be awesome. There is not a lot of Doctor Who Eurovision mash-ups on CZcams, apart from a couple of videos. There are more videos pairing Hetalia and Eurovision on CZcams (which makes sense, considering Hetalia is about countries as people, and since the majority of the cast are European nations, it was inevitable somebody was going to combine Hetalia and Eurovision. Hell, it's because of Hetalia that I really got into Eurovision).
23) I must be the only one who likes it ._.
22) My last... Awful and weird
21) Good, but a bit boring
18) Good
15) My 3rd
14) Is this song about icecreams?

05) My winner and my 2nd favourite ESC song ever after Serbia 2007
+Saxokamon 14 - No
Omg! Number 23 is like the only song I really like from this year lol
We could accuse Norway of cheating 5:10: since Nocturne would feel more at home being played a long side 17th century Violin Symphonies by Mozart etc
Los siento, España mereció ganar, con diferencia👌
23 - worst for me too
22 - weird and not too good
21 - a bit boring, right placing here
20 - I love this :D

I think that Fra mols til skagen is the very best Danish entry. Same goes for Prisluhni mi.
And btw I think that Germany getting the last place has very little to do with the song itself. The singer just can't sing,it's all out of tune and her voice just cuts into your ears.
Lol all the best songs at the bottom
What a joke 🤣🤣🤣
One of my least favorite years of the 90's. Norway was the runaway winner for me and nothing else came close, although I also love Sweden and like Slovenia, Israel, Turkey and Iceland a lot. In a stronger year, I seriously doubt that Spain would do so well. And those were days were Ireland was on a roll and had to pick songs in order to make sure they would not win again.
