Helikon-Tex is without doubt my favourite clothing/bag manufacturer. They've hit that sweet spot between quality and affordability, while making sure the design is always paramount. More please!
Hi moorlander! The swedish (probably exists in rest of scandinavia as well) expression that Helikon are paraphrasing is "Det finns inga dåliga väder, bara dåliga kläder". It means "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes". It is the weapons grade copium we tell ourselves when the air outside hurts to breathe because of the cold :D
Wow, I'm a very warm blooded person and love the cold, but you guys are die hard cold weather people 🤘 I hope you visit your beauty country or region one day. It will probably be by myself as Mrs Moorlander is not warm blooded at all. If it's not 25c she's unhappy. I'd much prefer to be -25c 👍 Thanks for watching Ginberk
The saying up here is roughly translated to; ”There’s no bad weather just bad clothes”. Also, I backing the Helikon-Tex 100% Have several items from clothes (pants, base layers, shirts, jackets, fleeces) to back packs and tarps and so on. They always come out on top. Superb quality and durability. Love the channel, mate. Cheers from Sweden🇸🇪
100% agree Andreas. I'd never really had any Helikon products until a few years back... Then I got hooked. They've got some amazing designers going from strength to strength with their gear. All the best from across the Sea 👍
Hey! Nice review of this jacket. I have it for more than one year now, exact pencott camouflage. I take it with me when it is cold and windy - it is lightweight, so i can put it into small backpack. It is compact jacket, and when you need some windproof layer above your thermal layer - it does its job great. In this winter condition here in Slovakia, i am wearing HelikonTex Patriot and if it is windy or rainy, i take this Blizzard jacket along. Great stuff really, i will definitely buy also Blizzard Pants. Keep up the good work, Moorlander! Best wishes for you.
Wait! Is that a chicken with a fish's head smoking a cigarette? Legend!! Thank you MT. This is definitely an awesome light weight soft shell. Hope you're well 🤜🤛
Another great review and entertaining video 👍 Military1st are great. The camo was a good choice, the dog walker at the start hadn’t got a clue you were there! 😀
ha ha ha... you're not wrong Jim. I'm there most weekend when she is. I'm not sure what she's foraging for, but she has a small whistle with her Springer and the hound is always bringing stuff back to her. She's definitely got him well trained. They usually spend a couple of hours foraging and then they play with a balls and rope for twenty minutes. I'm not sure I have the energy for a Springer 😅 thanks for watching buddy
Thanks for this review - watched this a while ago... mine arrived yesterday, I and am really happy with it. Perfect for spring time. PS: completely agree with the double-zips, such a nice feature.
Another treat on a Sunday evening. Nice review dude. Love HT stuff. Have the BB cap and also 3 x pairs of utp rip stop. Great products. I’m not sure u could get away with that camo in a more urban setting 🤔 maybe more of an air soft option. Liked the crusader EDC look, and wasn’t expecting you to be able to fit ‘shrews scrotum’ into the vid so good work again. Have a good week buddy, catch you on Wednesday for more of the same 👍
Hey, ha ha ha... yep, not a "just nipping out for a few pint" style camo for sure. I've been trying to steadily work my way through HK's colourways in a Pokemon 'Gotta catch them all' way. I looked like the 2000 year old fella that Indiana Jones found at the end of the third movie 😆 Thanks for watching buddy
10 million! Anywho.. greenzone is a great colour for dartmoor woods and moorland... I have the HT Windrunner... i skipped this one as I've got other soft shell items before I knew about HT.. the windrunner works wonders as a wind shield.. camping on Sheeps Tor with 50mph gusts was no problem.. (will update my videos to show when i get a chance) with elasticated wrists!... I missed the snow though, could not find any so far on Dartmoor in the Southwest! 🤷🏾♂️🇬🇧
Hey CC, ha ha ha ha... yep, it's become a wee running joke. I accidentally said 10 mill instead of 10 thousand a few weeks back and it's kinda stuck. Lets make it happen 😊 The Pencott camo is great in the Moorlands here too. Up close It looks like it shouldn't work but it really hides the pattern from far away. We had a bit of snow here this year but not much. I wish we had 1980's style snow still. All the best buddy

Nice jacket and nice camo ! :) I already have different jackets/parka from Helikon-Tex so I do not need new ones now, enough is enough ! ^^
Hi Raphael. I think I'm developing a nice soft spot for Pencott. Although, I've set myself up with a challenge to try and get one item of every colourway Helikon Tex do. There's just so many to choose form
At 16 min of your video ....you could do an entire video betweenn the different layers and sizes of hélikon clothes working together Base layer merino second puff jacket or wool or fleece third wind blocker or rain shell and so on Please that would help a lot of us. Ask gear to helikon to make it Hope it helps. By the way good job 😉
Hi Jack, you might be onto something there buddy. The three layer system has been around for decades and most people do it without thinking... however some people still struggle to understand why their layers aren't working for them. It's a little outside of EDC, however I like to think my channel is a good mix of EDC and Outdoors 😆 Thanks for watching Jack. Have an awesome week fella
@@MoorlanderEDC hi mate I might be sometimes critical (and I have been critical with you ) but I always want to make it constructive Bashing is not my thing at all and always have in mind that English is not my language so I am not as precise as I want to so sometimes I might be rude without notifying it 😉
Jack, my friend, I completely love feedback from everybody. I promise I've never took your feedback as a negative thing. I never read your comment as bashing or rude, and think your English is brilliant. I'm sure I'd have to use Google Translate if I tried these comments in your first tongue 😊 You're a good man Jack, and I hope you're well 🤘
Greetings! Elastine in socks, is the tiny rubber cords that are on the top of the sock and keep it from sliding down. Elastine, comes from the Greek word "Ελαστικό (Elastiko or simply lastiho as we call it in modern Greek)" So, I guess it's the material that jacket has on the end of the sleeves and on it's bottom part, as most short jackets have, to keep them tight under our belly. I could be wrong though, and the elastine is part of a mixture with nylon, but my theory, sounds more logical to me. Anyway, I made this comment mostly to find out what that elastine I see allover tactical clothing actually is (also to support a great CZcamsr!), so if anybody knows 100% the truth, please share it! Thanks in advance, Take care!
Hmmmmm... now you've for me thinking. I've checked and it's the make up of the Stormstretch material. It gives it a small bit of 4 way stretch so that it rides nicely over your other clothes. Thanks for the meaning of the word. I love learning about the etymology (which I'm guessing is either a Latin or Greek word in itself). The English language is such a bastardised language made up of the all the parts we kept from German, Latin, Nordic etc. I like to spot similar English words in other languages to see where we kept them from... or more likely, who invaded us thousands of years ago 😆 Those Romans got everywhere didn't they

Hi Mark. Yes buddy. Hopefully you can see in the vid there's a seem on the upper chest and lower waist. This is height of the pocket. With the zips being slants you'll have to wrangle a map in there however it shouldn't be a tough wrestle. It's definitely easier with the Mistral as it's got that open kangeroo zipper pouch. What do you think of this system (Baselayer + Wolfhound + Blizzard) for cold weather hiking (-5 C to - 15 C)? Also, did you get the Blizzard in the same size as the Wolfhound in order to be able to fit it over the Wolfhound?
Hi Dany. I think it's great. I haven't been down as far as -15c, however I can imagine is the baselayer is a thermal one I'd been fine. I do run very hot though. The Scottish Highland Celtic blood runs strong in my veins... however if you're talking about -15c, I'm sure you're used to the cold too. The wolfhound does a great job at generating the heat needed and the Blizzard does a brilliant job at holding in that heat as well as keeping light rain and snow out.
