Same problem but adding an additinal note that under no load, engine revs up over 2000 rpm just fine. I first replaced all fuel filters and watrer separator but still had the problem. Got a friend who is a retired marine machanic to come over with his fuel pressure tester and confirmed that I was getting lots of fuel pressure as well as flow. He also squirted fuel into the carb under load and ruled out issue with carb. He then told me to go get a new distributor cap and rotor as well as new plugs. Problem solved!!!! P.S. plugs looked fine but rotor and cap was very pitted. Rotor was very black as well.
@@trentbrickley957 no, just cap and rotor. My next step was to check timing and then replace coil, which is an expensive experiment. You did rule out that isn't a fuel issue?
I replaced the fuel pump the season prior to this issue. The boat ran great til the end of the season. Next season this issue happened on the first time we took it out
I have a 5.7 too and had the same problem. Turned out the solution was my shift cables needed adjusting because it was causing the interupter switch to activate and cut the spark causing it to bog. Hope this helps
I did all those things too. I’m gonna check the fuel pressure next. I installed a new fuel pump prior to these issues and I’m wondering if it’s defective
I will update once I hear back from the mechanic

I did all of that and still got nothing, did you change the stem aswell or just cap and rotor

Thank you for posting this. I have the same engine doing the same thing. Please let us know what the mechanic tells you. Thanks!
Having same issues 4.3 m
If some one finds the problem please post. For me it started at 2k rpm then went down to 1k and I idled my way back. Starts great. Just can’t throttle
That imho appears as a fuel restriction. Fuel pump not able to keep up the demand of a load. Antisphion valve bad, restriction of fuel flow.

That makes sense.
Did your engine cut off after 2K rpm’s as well?
Mine was pretty much missing all the time. It got to a point where I really couldn't rev it up at all.
@@nick66850did you find this to help? I checked mine and everything seemed normal
I’m going to check this very thing and see if it’s my problem as well
Anyone have these issues
Having the same problem out of my 3.0 can figure it out
Having these same issues now trying to figure out what it is. Changes spark plugs, fuel, water fuel separator, and fuel filter
I did all those things too. I’m gonna check the fuel pressure next. I installed a new fuel pump prior to these issues and I’m wondering if it’s defective
Any updates?
Not yet. I just replaced the exhaust flappers. Gonna put it back together together
You tried changing the rotor and cap?
Did the exhaust flappers fix the issue?
No, the flappers were in tact not restricting anything.
Did you end up figuring out what the bog was?
@nick66850 did you ever figure out the issue?
@@emack10 not yet. I checked the compression and changed the cap and rotor but still doing it. I’m taking it to the mechanic on Monday
@nick66850 I gotcha. It would be great if you could post on here what he finds out the problem is! Thanks!
@nick66850. Have u heard anything on this issue
@@kyleking6203 no it’s still at the shop with no updates
