I didn't know upgrading the regions was necessary to get the masterworks. Interesting. Never mattered for me, since money is plentiful at this time and I always upgraded everything, though it might explain why I once did not get every masterpiece. Maybe I upgraded too late. BTW, didn't you already get the Grandmaster's Rod from Irlene?
Annd....15 damage reduction doesn't matter when you're dealing damage in the high hundreds. That must be very satisfying to see :D

Honestly, I'm not sure myself about the regions. The wiki says it's necessary so I do it :p I already got the Grandmaster's Rod from Irlene which is the best item I could have hoped for in this playthrough, but I also want the Rod of Flaming Vengeance which converts damage type of spells into fire. Should make me benefit from my bloodline +dmg for dice rolled.
And of course when those juicy hellfire rays hit, especially if they crit, it is very very satisfying :p
