  • Today, we are going to check out the new Solar Powered Smart Lighting from Ring. They released solar powered or more accurately solar charged - rechargeable battery powered outdoor smart lights. They now have the solar floodlight, solar pathlights and solar step lights. We will also check out their new smart bulb...an A19 Dimmable LED Bulb.
We will do a quick unboxing, set it up and do the installation and integrate these lights to my 10 month old Ring Smart Lighting System. We will see if these solar powered smart lights from Ring will find their way around your house and property.

LifeHackster, it “ amazes” me, that you don’t have at LEAST 100k subscribers. I have followed you for a year now, and your content, video editing, and explanation of each product are no less than exemplary. Few CZcamsrs go into such “ great details “ as you. Your personality is pleasant, and engaging, and your presentation of each new tech review is noteworthy.

I just got a new solar Flood light, I’m impressed with it so far. You just have to play around with the sensor until you get to light up. The lights are pretty powerful, and since you can set how high or low you want the lights can light up. I’m thinking of getting more for around the house. Thanks for your reviews!!

I know these kind of videos trigger the most views, but could you also do maybe a little playlist with POE cameras like you did with the swann cameras. But more on the way (as swann) with smart detection without any connection to a server. I lately saw the Hikvision Accusens for example. I know it is easy with the server version of Ring. For detection only it is perfect, but got my problems that when I’m in my backyard with family that everything is send to the cloud? For the front side of the house I don’t mind, even if I’m entering of leaving the house. But for indoor or the backyard. So I like to keep it local secured with a VPN connection to access from distance. Hey, as always great reviews, but question...
I guess, for the A19 Smart Bulb to work, you will have to leave the switch of the corresponding light, on, if you have a schedule. But, let’s say the schedule is 12:00am to 6:00am, and you want to turn it on, you will have to manually do it on the app, I guess? Since the switch is already on, but with a “scheduled on time”, correct? How does that works?

I don’t think it will work..they didn’t specify if they used z wave for the smart lights..their alarm sensors are though.

In another video, you have your cameras set up to a large monitor. Can you direct me on how to set that up?

Love your videos LifeHackster, I noticed that you are also having the same issue that I am having with the battery Powered Spotlight Camera and the Spotlight. That the Spotlight Camera's light turns on and then off after it is triggered by the Spotlight motion Sensor. Hopefully Ring resolves the issue, either way love your videos and I was truly waiting for this video as I am planning on buying a few of their solar Smart Lighs

When I first set it up, it was working pretty good..so ring might have messed up a firmware update. Hopefully, they will fix it soon.

The path lights box at the end doesn’t match you have the regular one in the back round and not the solar powered one.

The ring pathlight box at the end isn't the solar version, it's the battery version.
