Ali, I have a fun story about this song! Years ago - like 1994, Bon Jovi came to Red Rocks and they had a drawing for one of Richie’s Signature strats. The guitar was at a music store on the south side of Denver and I was a north side girl! I had an Art Studio nearby, so I went almost daily to enter the drawing. The guitar came with an online lesson from Richie on one of the local stations! The kid who won went on to be one of Denver’s most popular DJ’s! We became friends, and once I was at his stations afternoon shows and they did a singing contest for concert tickets! I got selected! When I walked up, my friend was playing the guitar for the song. He said “I know what this girl wants!” He went into Livin’ on a Prayer! I won the tickets!
