Why Carsen Edwards is the BIGGEST Steal of the 2019 NBA Draft

  • Carsen Edwards is a 6 foot one point guard out of Purdue that the Celtics drafted in the second round with the 33rd overall pick. Now for anyone who watched college basketball you know about Carsen Edwards, he led the big ten in scoring with 24 points per game along with 3 assists and 4 rebounds on really good efficiency shooting over 40 percent from the 3 point line which is very good for a point guard. During their actual season, he was obviously a beast but during the NCAA Tournament, he turned into something I’ve never seen before, he averaged 34 points per game and had two separate games where he dropped 42 points so coming out of college its hard to think why a guy who can score the ball this well fell to the second round. He was a walking bucket during his time at Purdue and once again proved it while in the NBA Summer League. Comment your thoughts on if Carsen Edwards will be the Biggest Draft Steal!

    Edwards is not the point guard and the player FVV is. He is more of a scorer or undersized shooting guard. He will be a good player though.

    Ainge imm. paid up front money to sign Edwards so you can imagine what Ainge thinks of him & his ceiling! How often do you see Ainge do that to a 2nd round pick? Edwards has been consistently showing his shots & confidence so all the pts you mentioned are spot on. He is less of a Van Vleet style as he has too much of a tendency to look for his own offense from long range & much stronger & athletic than small guards. He CAN pass as he has shown in college & summer league games.

  • @tteo8457
    @tteo8457 Před 3 lety

    His undersize will be his disadvantage and come playoff he will be exploited by other bigger guards

    • @ritchievernon8099
      @ritchievernon8099 Před rokem

      The reason he wouldn't be exploited by bigger guards is because he is quicker than bigger guards and just as physically strong!

    • @dylansevitt
      @dylansevitt Před 4 lety +1

      If you watched him this year. He made a crap ton of inaccurate passes.. they didn't really use him as a passer at all, and he forced a lot of shots instead of making good reads...

    • @thedarkfrost2351
      @thedarkfrost2351 Před 4 lety +4

      Dylan Sevitt he could easily start on the right team. There’s a little thing called growing up and developing, he could easily develop an ability to pass better and smarter and his defense isn’t awful, he just didn’t try that hard because he was so dangerous on the offensive side. Once he comes off the bench he’ll stop that.

    • @christian-gu5oq
      @christian-gu5oq Před 4 lety +5

      he is an amazing defender you obviously did not watch summer league brad stevens said it is hard to run the plays cause he gets so many steals
