- Manually cranking big fish in is a thing of the past!...
Just kidding, but it sure is nice when you're able to put an electric reel to the test with a large 60 lb Yellowfin Tuna! In today's action packed episode, Matt and I set out with the primary goal to "get some live bait and figure it out from there".
Trolling has been dead lately with the Ahi bite slowing down, so we were lucky to entice a few fish with some lures. Later in the day, we stumbled on a massive school of Mahi, all within the 10-20 lb range. We were able to get our fill with live and dead bait, and come home safely with a packed fish box.

Mahalo 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Bro can you do a video on how you built the live well bucket and pump?
Yup! Been meaning to do a video on it, I’ll be adding it to a video with a walkthrough of my boat soon 🤙🏽
Good video..
Appreciate the support 🤙🏽
Is that high bow an add on? Look like it was bolted on do you know who sellls that?
If you’re referring to the sponson, yes mine is a bolt on style one. I believe Ben from Plastech (the maker of glasspro boats) has the mold for them and could likely install it for you if you’re on Oahu.
Brah action
Pretty much replicated what you guys did the week prior 😂
Hahahahaha if it works it works!!!! Too bad Kai cannot close shop every friday😂
That stuff on the water is ahi eggs.
Mean! Thanks for the info 🤙🏽
how do you get your bait passed the haggis and how do you get the mahis to the boat
Having a teaser or strategically throwing out chum seems to be what works best with the hagis, the mahi will stick around as long as there’s food. Throwing out the live bait a bit further from the hagis did the trick also
If you would make a standard practice to gaff everyone coming close to the boat you would have more in the cooler.
You’re not wrong! Generally we do gaff larger fish, however for mahi we’ll usually get a good wrap and fling em into the fish box.
What kind of range do you get on the new boat?
I have a 38 gal tank, a full day trolling may be close to 45-55 mi. Generally burn around 25-35 gal.
I so hate trigger fish haha in Kona its bad .
They’re everywhere too lol Inside bottom fishing… hagi. Way out far… hagi.
@@SmallKineFishing yup
No expose that bouy brah now guys pound it and no get fish anymore
Good luck, no more fish on em anyways. Everyone knows the buoy is 32 mi straight out 🤷🏻♂️ if you send it based on what you see in an old CZcams vid, good on you.
