Before The Greatest Showman, there was another musical that made slave owners fun... Hamilton tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, and Peggy through song and dance, the way it was always meant to be. Lin Manuel Miranda actually hinted that Hamilton saying âMacbethâ has meaning to it. Cause as soon as he says it, the next song is âSay No To Thisâ, and his life starts to fall apart.
Cool! Thanks for the info
I thought the rule was that you couldnât mention the show Macbeth in the theater, but naming the character doesnât count which is why he says it so openly in the show
@@Axb2774 thatâs also true, both things are true

@Little White Rabbit because they're both equally important things but not at all the same? The fact that he can write / compose doesn't make him a good performer. We didn't see Bernstein perform as Tony, doesn't matter how good of a composer he was.
I mean, his ability to cast the show and find such incredible people that he looks kinda shitty by comparison doesnât make me too mad. He definitely isnât great, but itâs only REALLY obvious bc the rest of the cast is just THAT good

Just now realizing that Anthony Ramos singing âI died for himâ in the beginning is valid for both his characters because Laurens died for Hamiltonâs dream of a revolution and Phillip died for and due to the advice of his father.
Very true.
That is the thinking behind having him play both characters
@@beccacoles9427 That and it shows how close him and Laurens were, to the point where they were basically family, with the limited amount of time he had.

Angelica loved him, Eliza loved him and Mariah made love to him.
The Leslie Odom Jr. appreciation in this video is so strong that I have to tell this story... In 9th grade, when I was in a huge Hamilton phase, my English teacher told me that she was going to see Leslie perform somewhere in Maine, and I got super jealous because I immediately knew I couldn't go. So, my teacher told me to draw Aaron Burr so she could give it to Leslie after the performance. The day after, my teacher told me she gave Leslie the drawing, and he wrote this in the little booklet, "I loved my drawing, Abby. You're so talented! XO - Leslie"
A lot of people see Leslie Odom Jr. as a singer, an actor, or Aaron Burr, but I see him as a really talented guy that liked my drawing. I felt so complete and happy!!
EDIT: Yo! I just graduated from high school, and as a present, my mom and I are gonna see Hamilton in November!!! This is my first time going to Broadway! Even though I'm out of my Hamilton phase, and even if the original cast isn't gonna perform, it's still super exciting!! It's gonna be a bizarre but fun nostalgia trip to be sure!
EDIT 2: HOLY SHIT I FORGOT TO UPDATE THIS AFTER I SAW IT, but hey I still saw it! It was great! Everybody looked like they were having such a good time on stage, and even if there was a flub or a laugh from a cast member or two, but they just kept going and kept it professional! I think if I was much younger and was able to see it live, I would have loved it much much more, but it was still a fun time nonetheless. That's all from me!

Despite Burr's expression and some of his lyrics in the musical, he actually never regretted shooting Hamilton. He thought he deserved it.
But didnât Burr actually say he should have known the world was wide enough for the both of them. That sounds like regret to me?
Because he did
Burr actually tried to have the state of New York secede from the union because he didnât like Jefferson and some of the other founding fathers that much. Burr was a technically a domestic terrorist by sheer definition and then died on a boat fleeing the US to see his daughter. If anything Eliza is probably one of the most important side characters because a lot of American history would be lost if not for her efforts, monuments wouldâve never been built, many stories wouldâve remained forgotten. Hell, she set up an orphanage, was fighting for the abolition of slavery, raised multiple children of her own, along with many other things. She and a few of our early First Ladies (Mrs.Adams to be specific), helped keep our history and stories alive through their hard work. Sorry for the tangent, I just really find it interesting how without a few of these amazing women, so many more people would have suffered and many more could have been suffering today.
