I worked with a guy who was from Mexico and spoke both English and Spanish. He told me when he'd go visit family in Mexico, they'd say his Spanish was bad. But when he'd be there for a while and then come back to the US, he'd have trouble with English. He said remembering the correct words was a big thing.

Because I did both French and German at school I'd sometimes get the two mixed up and I'd end up saying sentences that were half French and half German!🇫🇷🇧🇪

The problem I (semi-)regularly have, is when I want to say something in english, but forgot the word for it, and I want to open up the dictionary really fast, and forget the word in hungarian too. So my brain just froze in a loop between two forgotten words for the same thing or concept, because I just don't remember it in either language.
