  • Well, I'm really excited for Minecraft 1.17 and with the power of too much free time on the weekends I decided to throw together this song. It's nothing crazy, just something for me to test some different modes and play around with plugins a bit. Most songs will boil down to honing my skills and really mastering my DAW skills before I attempt a real, high quality song. Who knows, maybe I'll throw in some singing at some point

      It was a normal day...
A villager you wanted to trade with asked for coal so you went mining for coal in the cave,
As you walked down you looked at all the emptied coal veins, you were about to turn to look ahead when you see something...
As you inspected it closely you see that it looks out of place, it's a block of cobblestone... but never when mining here have you ever placed a block of cobble anywhere near where you are.
You decide to mine the block expecting to find a hidden base built by a troll or a new player.
Once you break the block you feel a chill run down your spine,
There, in the middle of this 3x3x3 small room you see it, a body... but it's all... wrong...
The body is surrounded by skeletons... some looking as old as time... others looking as if they were placed there seconds ago,
And the body in the middle, it was the newest... there were still pieces of rotten flesh on the corpse yet that wasn't the most terrifying part,
The most terrifying part was what they where wearing, they were wearing a full set of netherite armour... or what was left of it.
You get more scared thinking about who... or what could have ripped apart a fully enchanted set of netherite armour... then you heard it,
There is and there will never exist any words in any human language that could describe ho horrible this thing sounded,
You were thinking about running, when you heard it again... it must have traveled several chunks in seconds... but not even the teleporting endermen could do that...
Then you realised something... you where just some blocks away from the absolute bottom of the world... and yet the sounds came from bellow you... from bellow the bedrock...
You realised that you won't be able to run out fast enough... but you got a horrible idea as you glanced back at the rotting corpse...
Quickly without thinking, you went inside the hideout and placed cobble to seal the exit,
The netherite armour may be ripped apart but it will have to do...
You took the pieces that was left of the armour and tried to wear it for protection,
While you put on the pieces of destroyed netherite armour you failed to see what was behind the pile of skeletons,
But when this... thing exited the hole that was hidden by hundreds of skeletons, you finally saw what was roaring several hundred blocks underneath the bedrock,
It was to late... and as it started to rip apart the already destroyed netherite armour you realised why the the corpse you found was covered in pieces of debris.
and as you closed your eyes you said to yourself,
Nothing is was normal under the bedrock and under the surface, yet no one will be alive to know that, because to the people who never venture deep down below, everything was just fine and normal,
It was a normal day... for them...

We illagers have been studying the deep dark and have made some interesting observations about that
    ..... Thing.
Mainly. 3 patrols worth of Illagers being picked off effortlessly by it one by one their
cries for a quick death still keeps me up some nights.
After the first deep dark expedition. Only high ranking illagers with survival knowledge and. “Voluntary sacrifices” are allowed down there
    Main observations:
    - when it attacks it doesn’t seem to discriminate, passive, neutral, hostile encounters all disturb it into a frenzy
-seems to be only able to hear
(came across this when a Pillager accidentally fired an arrow into a wall causing “It” to go towards the arrow’s impact zone)
    - seems in tune with the deep dark, almost interconnected with the material (dubbed sculk by observers) and its other components “sculk sensors” behave exactly like “it” (minus the whole moving towards you with less than good intention)
-sculk growth’s seem to act similarly to vines in terms of growth.
-If “it” continues to hear multiple vibrations, it will increase its speed to a startlingly fast run.
-patterns of color bear similar designs to end portal frames
(unknown if this Thing was an end creature. marginally disagreed on since “It’s” height limit would not allow it to fit into a stronghold)
    - “It” being in tune with the deep dark is true, then this makes to possibly of it having extremely enhanced echolocation abilities plausible, and the sculk could relay information back to “It” when needs, allowing It to track its prey to an almost endless area.
    - Upon further inspection “It” seems to be compromised of Sculk Sensors and a plethora of “Sculk Catalyst” and Sculk Blocks, not end stone as previously hypothesized due to the coloring.
New note proposed: many researchers have noted that the creature isn’t affected by natural diseases, due to its rib cage being exposed with what seemed to be souls entrapped with in it. almost as if the souls have been locked up and the creature is the jailer. The new identification “warden” has been issued to “IT” due to this connection.
These are our notes as we have them now, A more biological understanding of “Warden” is needed.
New update: Illager researchers are debating the possibility of removing “The warden” from the deep dark and relocating it to a more controllable environment. This could lead to great revaluations of unfinished notes, however the chance of the creature escaping in (example. a Woodland Mansion) seem to make research’s hesitant to go thought with the relocation. The idea remains a possibility
Update no.2.. Upon further investigation the Sculk appears to be an incredibly potent and fast growing fungus. However, what it uses to gain energy is far darker. It uses souls of dead creatures. Anything that dies closely to a Skulk Catalyst, it’s soul is denied the afterlife and is inserted into the collective whole of the Sculk. This substance is made of souls and knowing how many patches of Sculk we have found, we hope none of us becomes part of it at any given time. Illager patrol Scouts have been coming forward with what sounds like absurd stories of a massive city within the Deep Dark. We believe they are hallucinating but it is worth seeing if the claim can be validated.
Update no.3.. All plans to capture the creature have been halted and are NEVER to be considered again. An Illager research team did indeed validate the Scouts claims, the Warden does indeed have a place it calls home. The creature has also seemed to have increased in strength immensely since our original sightings. It has been recorded by Scouts left to explore the abandoned and Sculk ridden city to appear out of the Sculk itself if one makes to much noise near a “Shrieker”. (the origin of the strange noises) We have lost many Scouts and Research Teams in the last year because of this. One Scout that survived an attack told the tale of the creature bending forward and then releasing a wave like attack from its rib cage, decimating the Illager Patrol he had with him.
What is this thing, is it even of our world? Everything it does is foreign to our original understanding of this world.
All testing relating to the Warden has been put on hold until additional resources can be obtained to deal with it’s enhanced power.
The causalities are becoming too much to bear.

The deep dark should be a separate demotion in it’s entirety. It can only be found on the bedrock layer, where you can find special “cracked” or “brittle” bedrock, that can only be broken with a netherite pickaxe. It won’t drop, obviously, but it leads to a deep, deep, hole. If you jump in, you get teleported to the deep dark. I suggest bringing torches, food, and a few pickaxes. You get out similar to getting in, find brittle bedrock, mine it, go to the nether. It could explain the void, and give the world a seamless feel. A load would be neccicary between them and if you just break any bedrock in creative, and fall through, it should still tp you to the deep dark, remove the void and add a border that sends you to the deep dark. The draw? Absolutely massive veins of ore. Groups of diamond, with over 10 ores. 50 coal in a single vein. If your lucky, and I mean LUCKY, you could even find a block vein, exactly what it sounds like. And of course, the warden. New structures, lots of loot, and a huge danger. Yeah, that would be cool

I can imagine this actually in the game. You venture down into a cave, looking for precious minerals and materials for you and your friends. They're all logged off. You go down, down, and down, amazed by the new caves. Then you spot something. A ravine, plunging far below the bottom layer of the world. It goes deeper than imaginable. Then, you realize you are frozen in fear. You can't move your body, you can't log off, you can't turn your computer off. All you can do is play the game. You walk forward, and notice an almost collapsed scaffolding heading down. It has been there for a long time. Suddenly, you can hear angelic voices. But something is off. It's like souls screaming out, not godly creatures singing down from heaven. You can't stop shaking, but continue down. The sound gets louder, until it stops. None more. Whatever was making the noise, it seems to have stopped for now. For now. Suddenly, you walk too far and fall down. You are almost killed by your fall, and you try to pile back up. You have no blocks, and your pick broke a few minutes earlier. Around you, you see gigantic natural stone supports preventing this place from falling on you. Then, you realize how horrifying the place you are in really is. It looks huge, carrying all below the infinite world. It is full of gray mist. There is no escape. You take a step forward, and take out a torch. You walk for about 10 minutes, before noticing a blue and purple growth that reacts whenever you step near it. Is it picking up your... sound? The voices you heard before suddenly kick back on. The torch you hold begins to dim, and then slowly brighten. This repeats a few times, until it starts rapidly flickering. You hear heavy footsteps in front of you, and the dark is pierced by a dull blue glow. You see horns, and then a hood. And then you know what is going to happen next. You cannot flee it. It would be futile to fight it.
    It heard you.

  • @blkjli6506
    @blkjli6506 Před 2 lety +6

    - What happened after they abandoned the nether?
    - . . .
    - Hello?
    - After the Wither came to the overworld with nothint but a taste of vengeance and blood, the builders hid in those very ruins
    - Wait, you mean they weren't always ruins?
    - No, they started a new life. After a few years, they found a strange new organism. We call it... The Sculk
    - Sculk?
    - (Proceeds to point to the sculk shriekers, sensors, catalyst, etc.) A carnivores fungus that feeds off of the souls of fallen creatures. The builders then used it to help with magic.
    - It kind of looks like the ender portal
    - Exactly my young friend.
    - What? You don't mean
    - Yes. They made the stronghold to get people to go, and after they discovered that there was no way back to the overworld, then they realized that this was their new life.
    - So the ender cities and the Endermen are... The descendants of the ancient builders?
    - Correct boy. Many months after, the Illigers found out where they were hiding and also found some sculk. They used it to make a creature so terrifying and powerful that it could wipe out an entire civilization.
    - . . .
    - I call it . . . THE WARDEN
    - So, "The warden" caused all of this destruction?!
    - It did, and I was the only one smart enough to find out how to hide from it.
    - How?!
    - It's blind, the Illigers gave it no eyes, so this way, it couldn't come back and kill them.
    - Also because it won't need any in the dark
    - Precisely
    - Wait, if it is blind, then how does know where stuff is?
    - Remember the sensor version of the sculk?
    - Yes
    - It uses two of those tentacles as sensors on its head. It also uses it's sculk powers to abosrb the souls of it's victims. . . Which only make it STONGER
    - Hold up. If it wiped out an entire civilization AND abosrbed all the souls, then we're looking at-
    - The most powerful thing to ever exist.
    - So be quiet and it won't find you?
    - You also most cover yourself in Moss, so it can't smell you too.
    - Dear Notch... It must have been so scary
    - It was(one tear form from his eyes)
    - So where is it now?
(Foot steps start to echo in the dark caves outside the hidden shelter)
    - Take this wool and eggs. The wool will deafen your sounds and you must throw the eggs to distract it.
    - Ok, but what happens if it catches me? I have enchanted Netherite gear
    - Oh please, this thing twists the heads off of withers just a child with a doll.
    - Ok, that's crap and you know it. (The old man then looks to the left)
(The explorerdoes also, sees the remains of hundreds of Iron golems)
-Holy Shiz! (He then slams his mouth shut)
    - *The old man simply nods, and says*: Thank you for talking with me.(he then puts in his Moss camo suit on and leaves quietly)
*As he slowly walks away, he hears the sounds of roaring, yelling, slicing, and blocks breaking. Finally, after one more yell, a bang is heard. The old man looks down and says with a sad face* If only death was the end for him.

Imagine going mining and ending up in the deep dark. No matter what, your screwed because the only way your surviving 1 hit from it, is if your wearing netherite, and you most likely won’t know it’s the deep dark and what the warden is, so you’ll be mining and making lots of sound and the warden can easily sneak up on you and kill you. No one will know where your body is. They won’t know a warden killed you and might go looking for you. If they find your body, they too are sentenced to death by mearly having found your torn and shredded corpse that is hardly recognizable as you.

You enter the cave cautiously. The other players had always had rumors about the cave, saying that it ran beneath the bedrock, that nobody who went in came out. You are now ready to debunk said stories, prove it’s just a cave system, a cave system with plenty of unmined ore that they could have taken at any time. Except now you realize you are seeing the stone change tint, change tint to a deep, desolate shade of blackish gray. You descend deeper, deeper still. You realize you must have found a new biome. All the more reason to go in. You could find some awesome loot. So you continue trekking through the cave. Not a spot of ore, not a single dusty cobweb, not a single dimly lit torch shows itself as you continue down, down, down. Suddenly, you are in a ravine. You scan the walls for any sign of ore here in this incredibly deep cave, but you find not a single piece of iron, not a single shard of coal. You walk through the cave system, until you realize you are walking on decrepit tendrils of fungal life. They let out a eldritch noise that echoes through the caverns, bouncing off walls. You see not a single creature. You place down a torch, barely able to see, but what you now see it horrifying. A skeleton. Not one that tries to attack you. A dead, lifeless skeleton. One with cracked bones, and a set of banged up, shredded netherite gear. The most horrifying thing about this skeleton is not the fact that something down here killed a player with full netherite. It’s that this skeleton is new. It still has blood dripping off its sword. And it’s the darkest, blackest blood you’ve ever seen. It’s infested with souls, cyan orbs arcing through the deathly fluid, making faint screaming noises. Tendrils of that blue-black fungus protrude from it, growing up the sword and slowly infecting the entire skeleton. Whatever this person was trying to kill, did not get killed at all. You try to ignore it, continuing to foolishly tread across the mildew coated floors, which you do not know, is a act that will soon bring your doom. A voice calls back to the skulk, a dreaded, roar of anger. You stop dead in your tracks. You have to escape. You rush for the exit, but the wretched plants have blocked it off. You try slashing through it with your axe, to no avail. You look for a place to hide, but now you see a small settling by the walls. You enter, blocking off the entrance with obsidian. Noticing a couple barrels, you open them hoping for a haul that makes this place worthy of entering. However you see only a couple cobwebs growing out of the side of the rotting wood. You begin to yell about the lackluster loot, but the beast hears you. It has heard you this whole time, biding it’s time, waiting for a moment to strike. Now you see, the obsidian block off begins to have cracks as something smashes it from the other side. The wall breaks open in a shower of obsidian shards. Now you see the horror that the rumors told, the warden, coated in fungal mold with souls in his chest, his mace like fists preparing to smash, in front of you. Your cornered, there’s nowhere you can go. You have the advantage of speed though, and attempt to get a few hits in before the warden can even land one of his. Your sword cracks in two like a stick against the beast’s stone hard chest. You hold up your shield in a futile attempt to survive. The warden bashes down hard, crushing your shield like a sheet of paper. Skulk creeps in through the opening in your wall, and the warden prepares to smash. And then-

  • @villagernumber7882

You took the pieces that was left of the armour and tried to wear it for protection,
While you put on the pieces of destroyed netherite armour you failed to see what was behind the pile of skeletons,
But when this... thing exited the hole that was hidden by hundreds of skeletons, you finally saw what was roaring several hundred blocks underneath the bedrock,
It was to late... and as it started to rip apart the already destroyed netherite armour you realised why the the corpse you found was covered in pieces of debris.
and as you closed your eyes you said to yourself,
Nothing was or will be normal under the bedrock and under the surface, yet no one will be alive to know that, because to the people who never venture deep down below, everything was just fine and normal,
It was a normal day... for them...
