  • As we head to the end of June, and the first flush of blooms is coming to an end
so the age old question once again is asked about how I maintain not only roses growing in the ground but also pot grown specimens and more importantly the products I use to keep them in tiptop condition and blooming all summer long
roses in the ground don’t get any extra attention as far as feeding is concerned I rely completely on the work that I’ve done over the last five or six years on my soil structure and condition I cannot stress enough how important the quality and composition of your soil is to the success of your garden. Please don’t skip the mulching. However if you’ve recently moved into your garden and not quite yet gotten your soil into the correct condition. You can go ahead and feed roses grown in pots and in the ground now every two weeks for the rest of the season
You won’t see me using any other product apart from ‪@enviiuk‬ seafeed extra, I use this product quite literally everywhere on everything that needs feeding in different ratios of of course
Pot grown roses and other container shrubs get fed once every two weeks with 20 ml diluted into 10 L of water
Sweet peas and dahlias now get folia and ground fed every time blooms are picked which can sometimes be two or three times a week-if you see yellowing at the bottom of your sweet peas you’re not keeping up with the amount of nutritional value the plant needs and you’ll be soon pulling them out so up your watering and increase your feeding
I even use this product in a much diluted form on all of my house, Plants !
If you have any questions on the subject, don’t hesitate to leave me a common below

Fantastic to see that you continue to enjoy Seafeed this year, Ben! The watering can looks great.🙂

That was really helpful - thanks Ben . I've been using liquid seaweed but thought you had to avoid the foliage .

I'll have a look for that thanks Ben, I'm always using liquid seaweed and tomorite. Lovely watering cans. Have a sixteen but only two of those. Certainly the best you can get. Inherited from my father.

I love the design of that container. Takes guess work out of measuring. Doesnt appear to be easy to get in US. unfortunately.

Does anyone happen to have a link for the watering can or know where to get one? Thanks

Could you alternative Envii and tomato feed. So Envii one week and then tomato the next. This way you get each every 2 weeks?

Neptune's Harvest makes a seaweed fertilizer. I'm not sure how it compares to envii - I suppose we can compare the ingredients listed on the website. I have a neighbor who uses Neptune's Harvest and has much success.
