  • This video demonstrates how to reset the Hormann series 3 BiSecur Supramatic garage door operator. Please Note, this does not delete any of the hand transmitters or devices that are coded in, it will just allow you to reset the opening and closing limits.

    Thank you! You have saved me a headache!
    Our torsion springs gave out on us and we had a guy come in to change that and they insisted we install the new Sumpramatic P3, saying the one we had was not powerful enough. The technician had set everything up and all was working fine (i tested it myself a couple of times). Then later on when my husband arrived, nope... the door stopped midway!! We made a few attempts and still no luck.
    And then I found your video and it worked!
    Thank you very much for sharing this video!

      Hi Liam - does the door normally have photocells? If so it may be that they have failed or disconnected somehow. If the door doesn't have photocells, you could try a reset to clear the error. Failing that, it could be that the unit has developed a fault and requires an engineer.

    Hi, I have a hormann promatic 2 without the original remote control, we had it synchronized with a remote control "TX4 WHY3 EVO" but I accidentally,
    instead of making a copy of that remote control to another, I copied the frequency from the other to mine,
    basically my remote now has a different frequency than my hormann, at the moment we are opening the gate manually, do you know how I can synchronize the hormann again with the WHY3 controller?

    • @abidoors
      @abidoors  Před rokem

      If you are using a different remote with a Hormann operator, you will have an external receiver located on your head unit somewhere. You would pair the remote from this, rather than pairing using the Hormann method. I'm unfamiliar with the Why3 system, but if you find the receiver model number you should be able to find the pairing instructions online.

    • @abidoors

      The light should be blue for series 3/4, or red for a series 1/2. The pairing instructions are slightly different for each series, and if the unit has an external receiver (small grey box on side/top of motor unit) this will override the programming on the unit.

    • @abidoors
      @abidoors  Před 7 lety

      It sounds like the unit has failed. It would be worth checking the fuse in the supramatic's plug but other than that there is not much more that you can check. If there is no obvious sign of power on the display then you would need to contact your original supplier. Hormann operators are supplied with a 5 year warranty so it may be covered.

      Hi Rune, I would try deleting the bluetooth code stored in the motor and re code it in through the app.
      To wipe the existing Bluetooth codes from your Supramatic series 4 unit:
      1) Press and hold the ‘PRG’ button until ‘00’ is displayed.
      2) Press and release the ‘Up’ arrow until ‘19’ is displayed.
      3) Press and release ‘PRG’, the display should change to a flashing ‘00’
      4) Press and release the ‘Up’ arrow until you get ‘02’
      5) Press and hold ‘PRG’ for 5 seconds and ‘02’ will flash to indicate that the codes have been deleted.
      6) Release ‘PRG’, and the display will turn to ‘19’. You can then press and release the ‘Down’ arrow to return to ‘00’
      7) Once at ‘00’ press and release PRG to exit program mode.
      The Bluetooth codes will now have been wiped.

    Mine doesn't close the garage door completely - it leaves it open just a crack so there is a draft coming in. Is there a way to adjust the close position just marginally further closed, because no matter how many learning runs I perform, it still doesn't close the door fully tight. It's an up and over door.

    • @abidoors
      @abidoors  Před 7 lety

      you would possibly need to adjust the down stop. There is a bolt with an allen key fitting that sits in the 'down end' of the boom arm - you can losen the bolt to move the stop then go through the reset procedure again.. Make sure it is not too far though or the motor will continue to push the door once it is closed.

      ABI Garage Doors Ltd thanks, but I don't think it's the end stop. That is already as far as it will go. I think the problem is just the geometry of the garage door itself. Even pushing with my hand at the top doesn't close it fully, so I think I have to live with the problem

It sometimes helps to engage and disengage it a few times by pulling the cord and pressing the green button. You can also check out our blog post on how to use the manual release here.
