    I was online looking for a new meat slicer as I have made a lot of jerky for the guys, but the Chef's Choice has let me and evidently so many others down as a common part that breaks and you cannot find a replacement, nor will the company answer their phones or emails, and saw your video with this jerky slicer!! I almost cried. It's such a chore to slice by hand, and as I said, the machine has failed me. I am going through your link to get this and I am happy you will get a little something for the connection. Would you tell me about that massive knife you use?? Thank you! SO GLAD I FOUND YOU, VAN!!

    Great video! No silly music or flashy sh*t. Just the facts! Most importantly I learned two things: cut on the diagonal and I need to get me a slicer!

    Great cleaning tips. I need to slice hot dogs the opposite way of jerky. For dogs at my shelter, we use thin sliced (round) hot dog coins. I wonder if this will work. I can pre slice hot dogs in half before feeding them in.

    Never remove the handle from the cutting wheels. Use the attached handle to gain control and manipulate those sharp cutting wheels as you wash them. Never handle those cutting wheels or the rotating gears with your bare hands, use the handle. Great tip using the cleaning brush to clean those wheels after use!!

    • @VansWorld
      @VansWorld  Před 4 lety +1

      I wish they would make them adjustable. I do believe you could change the plastic spacers though I have thought about doing that myself to get a thinner slice.

      @@VansWorld How thick is the slice as it is? Also on another note, I've been getting some white dots on my jerky after 3 days of production. Would pink salt help solve that or how do I get the jerky for commercial grade quality? I'm starting a jerky business in Argentina and your channel has been really helpful. Thanks a lot!!

    • @VansWorld

      A lot goes into getting jerky ready to sell. I recommend this book to help guide you along the way. amzn.to/32PUm9O
      The slices are 1/4" thick
      The white spots may be the salt coming to the surface. Prague powder#1 will kill off any bacteria. Get your prague powder with this link amzn.to/2xaKY4J

    way more cutting than you need to do. If you're going to cut them all into chops then it isn't much more work to stack them and cut into strips. If anything more work considering now you have to dismantle an clean the machine. What you should do is cut the through the middle into long flat strips then feed those through and cut the strips to the length you want.
