The Lovell Sisters: joyfully taking over the world of great music one song at a time. Seriously, these two are a gift.
We all have songs that we listen to as we go about our lives and then we have songs that we stop and relive a moment in time.
The talent of Larkin Poe with this band covering Dylan priceless
This is glorious... can't get much better than this... Great insight to bring in Becca and Megan, they are jewels of music.
I just stumbled onto this, thank God. It's 0115 on Easter morning. I've been sitting here in the dark feeling pretty low, flashing on my friends and family, who are now mostly all gone. It's a cold bowl of oatmeal, seeing only ghosts on such a blessed and favorite holiday, but this amazing video lifted me up. Awesome- you've found my frequency and saved me!. Deepest thanks! Happy Easter and Passover to all.
Good sir, hello and greetings. Just a short message from a fellow music fan sending you love and peace.
(This is a wonderful cover, I confess I never cared for Dylan's version, please don't hold it against me!)
Beautiful!! To the man sad on Easter AM, you are never alone, love you!!
@@effiemooney8477 Thanks so much! Feeling better, you're a buoy, a great blessing. 🙏
@@martinhardy5462 Sorry about the delayed reply. Thanks for the kind words! I definitely won't hold it against you re: Dylan's version- I love Bob, but at times I've scratched my head (and my stylus) a bit over the years. :)
Hold those memories close.
Yep Megan’s harmony with Rebecca singing! Goosebumps
So we go from NGDB + Merle, Doc and Jimmy Martin to NGDB + Larkin Poe…….proving once and for all that the circle really is unbroken. So cool.
Johnny did ask us (or God?) if the circle would remain unbroken...
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Pastor Murray is an Anointed Servant of GOD who teaches the Word of GOD with Authority!!!!!!!
@@tabathastaples7884 whereas the Bible is a revelation about God, the only true Word of God is Jesus. My source is Gospel of John.
Amen.
This song has so often been sung a bit lamely at the end of all-star concerts. It's brilliant to hear it respected and performed so beautifully!
Larkin Poe can sing everything with everyone. And if you add a great Dylan's song, my day is done.
Agreed ⭕️❤️
I guess your day is done. I just discovered NGDB Forever Young Official Video. It’s the best rendition of the song I have ever heard. 😉
@@rolandharrison5651 Thanks for " Forever Young". I didn't know this version. Have à nice day
A new version of a great old song. It's nice to see young musicians adding their own voice to classic songs !
the lady on the slide nailed it. my hair stood up on that last solo. 👏
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is an iconic American band. Have seen them over 100 times since 1966 in the LA area (Trobadour, Golden Bear, etc) Steve Martin was their opening act for a number of years. Iconic songs, including Bojangles, costumes, stories, music. Will The Circle Be Unbroken, 3 albums are a masterpiece. NGDB was first American band allowed to tour Russia in 1977, before the fall of the USSR in 1990. This is a beautiful arrangement and rendition and tribute to Bob Dylan. Cannot wait for this album..have them all...we need good music today that is in short supply.
Lovely! Great to see Megan and Rebecca performing with this classic band.
Larkin Poe is one of most fav. new blood! Rock on Girls!
The NGDB was (or still is...) one of my favourite bands. 👏🥰🎸🎸 This song with LARKIN POE is incredible outstanding, the vocal is brilliant! I love it! ❤️
Megan and Reb L are the future of rock. Great to see the passing of the torch.
Great piece. I’ve always loved the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band but Larkin Poe bring them to a new level. Rebecca vocals and Megan on slide is amazing.
Well said.
Don’t underestimate Meghan’s vocals. She is something special
Beautiful! …
Larkin Poe girls are amazing
The NGDB, a band from my earliest days hearing them on a transistor radio and a cheap stereo until now, joined by Larkin Poe, a find from CZcams just a couple of years ago. And their artistry allows a blending that will stay with me for days.
Quite a delight to find this in my feed.
Love the N.G. Dirt Band and the Lovell sisters are incredible
Big Dylan fan, big NGDB fan, and absolutely adore Megan and Rebecca (Larkin Poe). What an incredible video to have all three of these favs in one place. So glad to see Larkin Poe who are such a unique talent featured with other music legends and greats. Best to you all and thanks for great music.
My dad passed recently and found this by chance. A real tear jerker. Thank you for a wonderful rendition.
Most beautiful relaxing song(performance) I've heard for years.❤
Nitty Gritty and Larkin Poe...Yes, Please!!
I love this song ❤
tone and attack of the lap steel on this track reminds me of David Lindley's playing on Jackson Brown's album "For Everyman" ---> which is plum-pleasin' to me!
I've known you guys for almost 40 years now. That is a very good idea. The girls are great and suit you well.Greetings from Germany
Man, that's beautiful.
Fun fact: Larkin Poe is amazing.
I can attest to that fact! Saw them last month in North Little Rock Arkansas and they ROCKED!!
I’ve been trying to catch them live; on my bucket list.
@@petergamma1801 Unfortunately they're across the pond right now. There's a quirk in their tour where they'll be in Winter Park CO in June and then continue back in Europe. I don't know what part of the country you're in, but they'll be back in July-September. Good luck!
Fabulous ❤
Amazing talent, from the author to the performers, this is a fabulous song. Found this version while looking for songs to play on a lap steel guitar, and behold! I can play every instrument in this recording. Finally found a purpose for my looper. Hey Bob! "Every man that put me here" and every other word in this tune is incredibly crafted. . .
I would have never thought to see the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band making music with Larkin / Poe ladies. But atlas great things happen and these two bands sharing a studio on a song , fantastic !
Holy smokes! This is great. I got to see NGDB live a few years back Larkin Poe is still on my concert ‘bucket list’. Awesome collaboration! Absolutely fantastic!
Same here.
Going to see Larkin Poe tomorrow in Glasgow, Scotland. Cannot wait
@@tombaillie8274 Awesome
Your live music life cannot be complete until you see an LP show.
Oh my...love it, love it, love it... last I saw those beautiful ladies was Suwannee a decade ago. What a joy!
NGDB and Larkin Poe..what a wonderful combination. And Rebecca's voice always fills the room. One of my favorite voices. Nicely done all around🎸🎶
Ohmygoodness what a beautiful song and phenomenal performance. 1🎶🎤🎸🎼🎵❤️❤️❤️
Rebecca has one of the best voices in the business- first saw Larkin Poe on Scott Page's web show a year ago, love their music, Megan sings well too, but her slide work is truly amazing- really cool hearing this with a better known old band name- this is really good!
Larkin Poe add the right amount of zest to everything they do. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There truly is no better word than that… ✨zesty✨
This one captured my emotions..
Solid salute everyone!
Of course 💖 to the ladies too..
Gorgeous version
Excellent!! The ladies are superb !!
One of my all time favorite bands. Will be buying this album.
Beautiful song. NGDB, Bob Carpenter ❤
Nice cover of a very special song guys! 🙏💓
Wow! Probably the best cover of this classic that I've ever witnessed. I remember this band from way back when, but don't remember anything quite like this. Thank you!!
Bravo ! Bravo ! The Lovell sister's do it again.
Wow wow wow, VERYYYYY GOOOOD, this cover is really fantastic. Thank you so much to all the musicians!
Wow! A song of redemption. Pulls out great emotion! Had to listen to it 4 times. Love NGDB!
Maravilhoso!
Just wow ! I mean first they’re backing Ringo & Robbie on “The Weight” & now this!!! So proud of my fellow Georgia natives ! So talented!! I try to tell my friends they’re missing out; my son gets it. He says they’re awesome!!
This is real music for the heart and soul. It made me cry, not even sure why. That’s the power of music. Love Larkin Poe and the NGDB. Great stuff!!
OMG !! so proud to see our Larkin Birds Soar ! just beautiful!
ht
Did beautiful job on a great and powerful song. ❤
The list of artists wanting to collaborate with RebL and Slide Queen just keeps on growing. What an amazing piece!
Superb, I love the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Larkin Poe. The joy and professionalism shows on this collaboration. Such wonderful talent all around. Thank you for the pleasure of perfection.
I've heard many renditions of this song, and this one is my favorite.
Aye -- I can't imagine a better job.
This one is wonderful, but the one by The Flying Burrito Brothers is beautiful although it’s not the full song
What a terrific video! The Dirt Band f'in' amazes me--all these decades, and they still sound fresh. What an ageless band. And in live performances, they seem like they're genuinely enjoying themselves.
❤❤❤
How great to hear the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band again and sounding GREAT! All the best for the album and for your futures!
Thanks Bob. Your songs in other people's performances show what a genius you are. The greatest songwriter of the 20th century. Quite an accomplishment. You'll live forever through your music, no matter who owns it.
Just fantastic!!
Yes finally and man this is one beautiful song….Amen!!
Haven’t heard my favourite band Larkin Poe do Dylan before.
Now this is an outstanding collaboration with NGDB blending well.
I’d buy an LP of Dylan covers with this band of outlaws. 🇨🇦☮️💟
Probably the best performance of this song. In fact, It just inspired me to record it myself, because I never have considered it before. Of course, mine won't be as good, lol. Larkin Poe does a great job, as well as Rebecca Lovell and Megan Lovell. The slide guitar was outstanding.
I saw Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1974. Steve Martin opened. My lasting impression was John McCuen playing a pearloid National lap steel on 'Daddy Was A Sailor'. Awesome! Then I saw David Lindley playing lap steel. Amazing!!!!!!
Wow ! Just wow ! Recently saw LP in concert, they were spectacular as is this collaboration with the NGDB .
Can’t get enough of this song so spot on!!!!
Wow - that was fantastic! As a long time NGDB fan you continue to excel and with Larkin Poe exceed my expectations!
Sjajna stvar, uljepsava mi Dan..
This is one of the best versions of this song I've heard. Nice work!
Beautiful song. Lots of hope for those doing time.
Doing life on the outside has days this song is important! A fav since The Band first recorded it!
@@kathypiazza4567 no doubt. So long
Wow… what a pairing with the sisters and The Nitty Gritty Dirt band. Doesn’t get any better than this🙏
Great song and great performance! Always with the NGDB!!!!!
Those 2 beeutiful Ladies with the Gritty!!! WOOOOOWWWWWW Don't get no better than this :)
Been a long time since the Aspen Inn and what an addition with Larkin Poe
Oh boy! Hope they do some from the new album when I see them in concert this coming August!
awesome meaningful rhythm 😁
I love music, always have. Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has been a favorite for many years now. Every now and then, a song comes along that stops you in your tracks. Something about the words and melody just hits you right where you live. This is one of those special songs. Every time I hear it, it feels like the first time. Whether it’s the original version or a cover, the song has power. As I get older, the last lines mean more to me. And I know that….any day now, any day now. I shall be released……..❤
Top Musicians,Top Guys all the Talent is on show here
Fantastic!
Magnifique!!
I have been a fan of NGDB ever since I bought "Uncle Charlie & His Dog" from the BX @ Goose AFB, Labrador when I was in high-school (my dad worked for USAF). The band's collaborations with other folks over the years keeps me listening and hoping for positive change.
Magic.
I know its an unfinished demo recording, but Gram Parsons/ Flying Burrito Brothers rendition to me, will always be the ultimate version of this Dylan song.
Oh wow, so incredibly beautiful!!
Unbelievable. And so timely, as always.
Wow...I am now 72+ and have ALWAYS had such a Welcome Fondness for The Nitty Gritty*
This is fantastic.
Hey Jeff, this is the best I have ever heard this song done. FANTASTIC!
Thanks so much for this. What a grand combination. See you soon, ladies.
LOVE this. Been hoping this collab would happen.
I would like to thank you all. The NGDB has made a difference in my life. Ever since the release of Mr. Bojangles I’ve been following you all. NGDB is truly an inspiration to the whole music community. I know you all have been asked for how many decades now about doing another “Circle Album”. Don’t you think it’s time. You’ve already left a great legacy with the Circle Trilogy. I won’t try and tell you “you owe it to the world.” But there is a whole new generation of musicians and fan’s that might need it. I can’t help think that A Circle Finally would be some kind of of that legacy, that would top off such a great career. Don’t mind me … I’m just wishing. Thanks guys for everything, God Speed!
Boy that's a flawless execution if I ever heard one.
Aye that was good 👍🎼
Very well done NGDB, You did this great song, No shame, Rick and Richard and the BAND, would smile, you truly made it your own, Cheers.
5 Stars ! The Best .
Amazing!
WOW!!!!!
That was simply OUTSTANDING! Nuf said.....
First time I heard this song was by The Band, at Levon Helm's place in Woodstock NY. I've played it myself ever since. A great song, done majestically here. So glad I found this.
