Here's a tip for when you run on walls with crates: Crash will fall if you spin into the crates too late, like you did at 31:40. Make sure to spin early so you break the crates while wall running, like you did at 31:38.

Home Cookin' is coming up and I usually tell people that if they want at least one purple relic, they should go for that one. It's honestly easier than the platinum relic on these two. It's just a really fun level to speedrun overall.

Watching this series has made me want to go back for all dev relics, and just a couple days ago I finally got my last dev relic. I always thought that getting all dev relics would be impossible but it took 4 years to get here. It probably wasn’t worth it but tbh I’m satisfied and happy I did it

You should look out for any Cortex level, especially Shipping Error. I don't quite have every relic yet, but Rock Blocked is also an absolute pain.
The one that make this insane trials in Crash 4 for make the players suffering need a raise, specially the Dev Relics.

USE THE AKANO TRICK!! On your third spin use akano at the same time, it gives you a huge boost. And you can also slide jump with akano to go further up
I was waiting for him to get Triple Aku lol, I actually didn’t struggle with off balance. The first time I completed it I got platinum. But I did find Draggon on a lot more challenging. Nice job getting these 2 done.

Hey Lewis! Remember that you can cover more distance if slide jump and then activate akano. Helps a lot to skip platforms

Congratulations on getting platinum on Draggin On, with 14 minutes of highlight gameplay, & Off Balance too.
Has anyone explained to him how Akano changes the physics of Crash's jumps? You get a lot more air if you use the Akano spin directly after jumping off of any box (and a bit more directly after jumping in general). Really handy for certain shortcuts.

slide+spin is faster and not as thumb spammy, also it gives another layer of depth to the platinum relics.
Time Trial in Crash 4 is the best in the saga imo, so much fun.
I can see that you experienced an issue in Off-Balance with Nitro crates not breaking any time crates even though they are next to them as you hit the Nitro switch at the end of the level. This happened to me too. It looks like it's a glitch with some crates not being Nitro in the regular version of the level and therefore not being counted as actual Nitro crates during time trials, which means you would have better luck doing the trick with time crates being next to Nitro crates if they were like that before you hit the clock
that's interesting, and I have no idea what is and isn't nitro between the two versions so now I'll try collect all crates during the run
@@WumpaLewis Yes, that's what I ended up doing in some levels because it's just too hard to remember every crate difference. When I realized the trick didn't work of course, because otherwise it's just easier to break those time crates with the Nitro switch.
It's so selective you just have to try, see if it worked and retry by breaking the crates yourself if it didn't work

I feel your pain Lewis. Out of all the levels I platinum'd, Off-Balance was easily the hardest. (It took me more than a day of playing it to get the relic.
Nice work on getting off balance that is one of the hardest ones or at least in the top 5 and with out even needing the akano glitch
I well say next video should be a lot easier cause the only tricky one in the next world is off beat at least for me

if you want to do the akano trick you have to press r2 ot tringle in the exact same moment as you do the last spin in combo

I honestly forgot how hard off-balance was. The only hard platinum relics left are run it bayou/ no dillo dallying, building bridges, rock blocked, crash landed, food run, seeing double, and toxic tunnels. Beside those levels the rest aren’t too bad.

2 days ago I did the 106% and to be honest, it was a terrible journey. But it was worth it. The hardest levels for me were the Cortex ones. The others were fine. And for Rush Hour, despite being the longest level, it wasn't that hard. 2nd attempt was the lucky one. 😆😆😆. Good luck, Lewis. You can do this! While I am gonna enjoy this new video! 😁

@@shinsekai3d660 I enjoyed the platinum hunting too as well by having my angry and cursing moments. 🤣🤣🤣 . The journey was terrible, sure. But can't say that I didn't enjoy it. It was a fun experience, but a horrible one. I'll repeat it soon on Switch. 😆

Lewis raging on Draggon On was like me trying to get the blue gem. It drove me to insanity more than the super mega death route in one of the final levels. I forget the name of the level though.
You mean the all coloured gem path?

30:15 If you're looking for a genuine answer; it's because you spin too late. So Crash ends up hitting the crates, which dislodges him from the wall, then you spin (breaking the crates in the process), and then you fall. Not that I'd blame you for thinking it's just some nonsense BS screwing you over, considering how many times that's already happened in this series 😅

I started doing these myself a few days ago and I'm currently one level ahead of you. Do not look forward to Off Beat, it's atrocious. The cycles in this game have a mind of their own.
