Alright, in this video experiment I structured the theory stuff as a framing device around the discussion of themes, so hopefully its more followable. This essay was also supposed to come out after the Xavier essay, but I swapped it around when I realised that I should finally get my incredibly late One X-Cellent video finished alongside it, so those are next. But then afterwards I get to do my first ever total comic essay by analysing the original Ultimate Miles Morales comic run.

I also saw when Doc Ock says “Stuck in this USELESS BODY” I was like “oh shit.” I know it’s silly because of a one off line but in this context it could mean a lot and it would be cool at the end of Spider-Man 2 they had a body swap and 3 or a spin-off is superior Spider-Man 🤷🏾♂️

Of course, depending on how long your play time is, it's a bit more like a miniseries or cgi TV show.
Just did another play through and this game is definitely the best told Spider-Man story in recent history. It has great pacing, Peter is portrayed perfectly, and supporting characters like MJ, Yuri and Miles were even better than I remembered. The best part of it all though is the development of Otto into Doc Ock, and the reveal that he knew Peter’s secret all along. Also Yuri Lowenthal is sooo good as Spider-Man.

another thing that carries this theme is the DLC and Yuri’s character
because she refused to move on from the death of her father and her revenge for Hammerhead’s crimes, she falls. rather than being a part of the NYPD she’s now stuck in her anger and vengeance as the Wraith.
And we're going to have to fight her in Spider-Man 2.
I think the story of this game is amazing.
Genuinely think it would’ve made the best Spiderman movie. I rlly want a Spiderman movie about moving forward.
The thing that makes the heartstrings pull is Peter Parker growing up and seeing that. Cuz it’s something we all gotta do.

I may have went through some intense mental stress and anxiety problems during 2018 but...damn...I must say being able to experience two of the best Spider-Man stories EVER TOLD through this game, and a certain movie which came out just two months later really helped me out in the long run.
For the record, a game about the quick spreading of a deadly disease (in New York nonetheless) and the heads of the government bringing in unmarked, unidentifiable, and suspicious looking agents to secure "law and order"? My how this game was ahead of its time...

With just the 10ish mins alone, I can tell he can go on for at least two more essays on just this game, let alone it's comparisons to other Spider-Man stuff. And I'd watch it all!
Yeah I was a bit limited by the footage because I only had what I captured for fun, but the idea was to distil a set of ideas down so I can totally use them for more videos! :)

Spider-Man Ps4 taught me what the tag line for the game’s marketing was: *BE GREATER*
Peter was already in the prime of his life (mostly). He had a patrol schedule, gotten better at balancing his life even though it still gets hectic, improved his fighting style and swinging, and his life was mostly stable.
Then the events in the game happened, his only family he has left died, his mentors were corrupted by their own mistakes and now he’s forced to face life by himself, as an adult. He overcame grief once again, defeated his foes and most of all: *BECAME GREATER*

you can tell how much he likes the far from home suit because it doesn't change every cut, unlike the majority of us who change suits every 20 seconds
If you want to connect it even more to the idea of change and growing up, there's the point that Peter is 23. He's just graduating college, so he's truly an adult, now having to change how he approaches the world. Great video as always man

Finished replaying this game again-It truly is spectacular. It's not the most brilliant game ever invited, but its damn good at being what it is. I live in New York , so passing by familiar places and even my school made me feel even more a part of the community. Amazing game, Amazing video.

Spider Man PS4 was a near perfect experience for me. There's some thing's I don't like. For example, MJ as a character (wannabe Lois Lane) & her missions and some suits like the underwear suit, the story & gameplay was great. I really like Peter & Miles in this game. The villains not only look cool and have cool bosses, but also have pretty interesting motives. Spider Man PS4 is truly amazing.
the devs wanted MJ to get involved with the plot more so its smart to make 'their version' of her being a journalist, gameplay wise it'd be more interesting to play as a journalist then it would being an actress, or a model.
if you think about it, in previous spiderman games, MJ has always been reduced to being a cutscene, her character, despite being Peter's GF, was barely ever involved in previous games (Spiderman 2, Ultimate Spiderman, Web of Shadows to name a few), so i think the devs wanted to find a way to implement a way she can be a larger part of the story without taking any time away from playing as spiderman, but of course her stealth mission moments can always be improved
why can't the movies have stories as good as this?

As someone who loves MCU Spidey & homecoming (not far from home) the game was amazing (although am disappointed that they used the Sinister Six near the end) this game was pretty solid.

Lost respect for the fact you used the FFH suit. But the video is great. Now do more videos on this universe.
Too bad they messed up the face. This old one fits a grown Peter and is really expressive in dramatic scenes like when he defeats doctor Octavius or when aunt may dies. The new one is trash and looks like a 15 year old on Tik Tok. On top of that it looks really unexpressive and like a bootleg Tom Holland. Hell, miles now looks older than him
Yeah it's very frustrating I_I Honnestly I'm trying to not think about it. I'm going to play Miles Morales, pray we don't see Peter without mask in any cutscenes and think about this issue in two years when the official sequel to Marvel's Spider Man is going to be released (as for now Miles is stand-alone game, so hopefully I can still pretend this change never happened)
