  • The traditional use of plants by the Navajo people in the San Juan Basin of New Mexico was the focus of this presentation by ethnobotanist Arnold Clifford. He is an expert in the flora of the Navajo Nation and a member of the Diné Tribe. He works as a field botanist with the San Juan College and BHP Minerals, and is responsible for supervising and training college students in floristic surveys on undisturbed rangelands, as well as revegetated and reclaimed mine lands. He is a co-author of Flora of the Four Corners Region, Vascular Plants of the San Juan River Drainage: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah (2013).
