    And police wonder why the public don't trust them. Anything for compliance, regardless of purpose.

    Love the way the sergeant agrees to speak to DJ, then walks off, even though DJ has clearly asked that they talk, now if a member of the public done this exact same thing they would probably be arrested or detained.
    The officer that took the time out of his day, even though he clearly wanted to go home after working overtime, is the type of policeman the general public needs, he should be commended for his patience, and taking the time to help the public, absolutely amazing man, and as I have seen him on several other audit videos from DJ and others auditors, this one not a one off.

Just because he probably speaks to constables and PCSOs in that manner he thinks he can do likewise to members of the public - think again Sgt and learn some civility to the public and when asked for further interaction do not just walk off, particularly when the member of the public requests further information.

    Making excuses for themselves is one of the 'childish' habits of police attempting to talk around their own responsibilities at guarding their security. The gates are left open for their unguarded convenience. Their own misbehavior is denied as any unruly child would want to do, who haven't had good training from their parents, apparently.
    Even with your example of the supposed 'breach', they leave the security gate open, but of course the police believe they can do anything they please, regardless...very disturbing, that!

However an open door to a private home because it's not a business there would be no reasonable presumption of right to access because it's clearly a private house. All commercial property would have a reasonable expectation of public accessibility unless a sign specifically indicates otherwise.

    Kurt seems confused between walking into the yard of a business and entering a private dwelling. Anyone has the right to walk to the front door of a private dwelling (entering is another matter) however they can then be told to leave the premises with the exception of someone delivering legitimate items of mail or a person who is lost and seeking assistance. Quite happy to be corrected on those exceptions. When they quiz you about why you are there, try the defence that the Police themselves use when they act outside the rules, which is to claim 'unintentional error'.

    The Vagrancy Act 1824 (5 Geo. 4. c. 83) is an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom that made it an offence to sleep rough or beg in England and Wales. It is no longer enforceable as the act has been repealed as of 28th April 2022 as part of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022, where an amendment was added to finally end the "outdated and offensive" law.

    • @spig021
      @spig021 Před 2 lety

      The repeal only comes into force when a new act to replace it, is brought into use. Therefore it’s still in place for now.

    If most police stations have closed their receptions and now have the yellow phones manned by civilian staff what are police officers actually doing? Why are police station compounds full of police cars doing nothing? Why are there no officers on the streets? What’s going on?

  • @patrickdaly2121
    @patrickdaly2121 Před 2 lety +1

    What an ignorant sergeant. He obviously cares about the people who pay his wages. To expect people to travel another 20 miles to find an open police station is disgusting. Do the police ever wonder why their statistics show a drop in crime. It’s not because crime has dropped, it’s definitely on the increase! People haven’t got the time, money and will to report crime anymore. Plus crimes keep getting decriminalised. What a caring world we live in! That woman you called about the drone was a waste of time. She could probably get a job stacking shelves in Tesco’s.
