    Cub Cadet Lawnmower 4 lug rims will fit on most Club Cars , but only on the front , they won't fit over the rear drum !! I raised mine almost 2 inches by just changing to mower tires 20 - 8.50 x 8 & yes I had clearance fully loaded !! Just a quick tip if interested !!

    Looks awesome. black rims look real good and bigger tires make the cart look really good. I think the way you showed what it takes to do a cart upgrade like this tells others that its not easy but you can do it. You covered all the bases. Great job and great video.

    Looks like this cart in another life had a 4" lift kit with Z brackets on the frame (7:51).It looks as if some one did some repair surgery on that frame.
    My wish list includes a 4" double A arm lift kit for my 2001 DS. Wifey would require a stair life to climb up to 6 " lifted cart. Good job, you can always get one of the bearing grease packing tools @Amazon $10.00.

    What you should do is get wheel spacers, it will definitely help with turning, it won’t want to tip as easy

    Looks great. I am planning to do something like that to my cart soon. Would like to lift, repaint, bigger tires. I think it will be a fun project. I'm sure I will be checking out this video again many times, and many others. Thanks for the video. That's how I learn, watching others and then trying it myself.

    Why would you patch a golf cart tire when you can get them almost for free at any golf cart store. They have tons of used tires. Never more than$ 20. Here in Florida they often just let you have them

    All good information, but the way you packed the wheel bearings was not the best way. You need to clean them out a bit better before repacking. They make an inexpensive wheel bearing packer. Also putting the seal and inside bearing on the axle and putting the hub on will not install the seal in the hub. When you put the rear bearing in, then installed the seal, that was the correct way. Also you missed a very important step on setting the preload on the wheel bearings. Tighten it while turning the hub until it is hard to turn and then back off the castle nut to line up the cotter pin. Always turn it a few times to make sure it turns freely.
    Also using a screwdriver for a punch? Ouch. Buy a punch. Silicone spray works better for installing the bushings.
    I have been a mechanic all my life and it pains me to watch someone do something like this by trial and error and not having the correct tools, but we all to start somewhere using what we have.
    Overall it was good information to show the steps into takes to do a lift. What good is our knowledge if we don’t share it to help others.

    Nice build, do you think those tires would fit on a club car like yours with a 3 inch lift? Not sure i want to go so high, i use the cart around my site daily and often on and off of it.

    • @WJHandyDad
      @WJHandyDad  Před 3 lety

      just a guess they probably would not work without the full lift

  • @UserFormelyKnownAs_hjkh

    What kind of realistic time frame did this take to install?

    • @WJHandyDad
      @WJHandyDad  Před 5 lety +1

      I took my time, was filming, it was hot so I took lots of breaks, and I did this a while ago so I'm basing this just on memory, but I think the actual work time was probably just a couple hours and would take even less time now that I know what I'm doing... I was learning as I put this on so there was a lot of just staring at it and figuring out how things were ultimately supposed to go. But I will say the lift was well worth it and I'm glad I did it... it really looks so much better. And I painted it now (video coming soon) so it is literally like a whole new cart.

    • @kerrydills3240
      @kerrydills3240 Před 6 lety +6

      When you pack bearings you would take a wad of grease and put it in your hand then push the large side of the bearing into the grease. Keep doing that all around the bearing so grease comes out the front. When that happens you know the bearing is full. Also,you can clean bearings in gasoline as well. Hope this helps. Like the video as I just bought a Yamaha gas golf cart and am looking to work on it too.

    • @carlspackler91
      @carlspackler91 Před 5 lety

      Or just save yourself a lot of grief and buy a bearing packer. If you're gonna keep golf carts or trailers around, it will pay for itself in no time.
      Packing by hand is just a waste of time.

    • @oneskydog4401
      @oneskydog4401 Před 4 lety +1

      Over packed bearings cause more bearing failures than bearings going dry. The excessive grease will not transfer heat and the bearing over heats.
