One thing i noticed is he uses 'I' so less, instead he uses 'we' as a team. His state of mind is different and that's why he makes a difference on the field.
What I have understood, the main reason behind the success of MS Dhoni is he never set any higher goal in his life. He enjoys every moment of the life and wants to focus on present without much thinking about the problems of future. Another thing is his expectation from life is very minimum that's why he is always happy in his life.
And that's fantastic bcoz aap future ka bara mai sochoga toh aaj accha performance nahi dai paoga or agar aaj accha nahi karta toh future apna aap kharab hojayega

But when i realized what it takes to be a player of indian team and play with such passion and doing it successfilly again and again is just phenomenal. What these players did for indian team is non criticizable. Bucause we cant do even 1% of it. Ok if we lost some initial wickets, he will play slowly and he will push someone to get score that is also ok,
But why atleast he didn't try to accelerate the score from 45th over?, why unnecessarily waiting till the 48th over?, what is the use of saving wickets in the death overs?.

When I was a kid I used to compare life situations with a cricket match. When Dhoni said "A wicket, runout or a brilliant catch can change the momentum of the match" felt its same with life. Probably I should start doing that. There's more to sport than just fun.
