I find what makes this so haunting is there is no beat boxing. So no percussion/drum sounds
React to Hallelujah now. Not really a Christmas song, and you will be blown away! And then immediately react to the live performance of Hallelujah, which ironically is performed at their 2016 Christmas special 😂
Hallelujah is a song about love written by a Jewish guy using old testament (ie the Jewish part) metaphors. Nothing to do with Christmas or even Christianity. Yes PTX put it on one of their Xmas albums but they also put let it go from frozen on one of their Xmas albums.
True. Actually about love gone wrong... They always seem to out a song or two on their Christmas albums that really is not a Christmas song.

Hallelujah is definitely not a Christmas song even if it is on one of their Christmas albums. Until I started watching reactors, I never realized how many people think it is a Christmas song. I understand more when people think it is a Christian song because of the repeated use of "Hallelujah", but it is so...NOT. I know, everyone already said that. All of this to say, yes, please do Hallelujah before Christmas even if it isn't your style. We, the fans, can occasionally be selfish that way. ;)
Actually, hallelujah has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. I don't know why it was included on the Christmas album, but if you listen to the words, there isn't a single Christmas-like theme to them. In fact, it is the complete antithesis of Christmas. That said, they do it better than anyone else and I love it. My favorite, regardless of the "season" for the song is the live version from their A Pentatonix Christmas Special.

Great Christmas videos include sugar plum fairy (won a Grammy), O Come All, Ye Faithful, Little Drummer Boy, Mr Grinch, Mary Did You Know?, Silent Night, Carol of the Bells. To name a few. All will blow your mind.
Poppa, I just looked through your videos and was SO surprised to NOT find a reaction to your boy Scott's recent solo release "Mars". It's an absolute MUST! Thank you for your reactions, keep em comin, I love them.
Excellent but so is everything they have done so far. Hallelujah for me has never been a Christmas song and it is amazing by them. 🙏🏽🤙🏽🤟🏽

They have so many Christmas songs I know Hallelujah is on their Christmas albums but it's not really a Christmas song so it would be great if you reacted to it soon. A great Christmas song for around Christmas is dance of the sugar plum fairy. Also aha Singapore if you want a true Mitch slap and can't hold us is a great 1! I'm looking forward to your reactions to them.

Nice to see you again! It's a cover of the Tears For Fears song. They did it as a 5 part harmony...and yeah, Kevin has a great voice just as the rest of the group do.
For what next? They have a new song out...Prayers For This World. It's on their new Christmas album, Holidays Around The World, but Prayers For This World is not strictly Christmas music, so playing it now would be fine.
Scott also has a solo out...Mars, which is phenomenal.
Other than that: Be My Eyes, Blinding Lights, When The Party's Over, Happy Now, Come Along.
I would like to see you react to their mashup of New Rules X Are you That Somebody. I think you will like it. Matt and Kevin are amazing in that one.
Even IF Hallelujah is a Christmas song, there are SO MANY PTX Christmas songs that you could do three or four a day from now to Christmas and still have some to go into the new year!!

PTX has such an extensive Christmas catalog that you may not want to wait on it.
Lol your comments about Mitch’s coat made me laugh, especially when you asked if it was Scott’s coat. I love that Mitch takes fashion risks, that he feels free enough to wear what he chooses, but also I loved seeing him in a well fitting suit on stage at the concert on Thursday. And of course they all sound fabulous as always.

Matt has been bass for Pentatonix for 5 years, since October 2017. You definitely need to react to more current Pentatonix music and videos if you have been mostly reacting to ones that are over 5 years old. Thanks for the great reaction. I look forward to more Pentatonix reactions. "Hallelujah" is not a Christmas song, Pentatonix just put it on a Christmas album. Check the lyrics, not a Christmas-like nor religious song. Pentatonix always put non-Christmas songs on their Christmas albums. You may be thinking of "The Hallelujah Chorus" which is a Christmas song but it has not done been by Pentatonix.
While not religious per se, it does tell the story of Samson and Delilah and David and Bathsheba - definitely biblical stories, but ones that show the negatives of loving the wrong person.

Please react to Hallelujah, you will love it. You will also realize that Pentatonix has so much Christmas music that you have to start in November to get a decent amount of it done before January. I also love Joyful Joyful the live version specifically. I got to see that one in concert on Thursday and it’s epic!

It’s funny how everyone still calls Matt the “new one” he has actually been with the group as long as Avi was. I just looked ahead…no more Pentatonix? 🥺 I guess I’m gonna have to wait. In the meantime how about some DISTURBED…STRICKEN…STUPIFY…PRAYER…DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS…OK and SOUND OF SILENCE. Oh also, GUY SEBASTIAN he won AUSTRALIAN IDOL in 2003…BELIEVER…BEFORE I GO…STANDING WITH YOU…CHOIR. He is AMAZING!!!

Hallelujah is NOT a Christmas song. If you listen closely you will find it's all about human love & nothing to do with God's love. Just because the word "Hallelujah" is sung, does not make it a song that is sung I church.
