Saturday Night Fever starred John Travolta, and was THE disco movie of the 70s. The Bee Gees did the songs for the movie. The soundtrack album was hugely popular.
The Bee Gees actually contributed four songs to the motion picture soundtrack. They're all great songs.
I was a young Marine overseas dancing to this. We thought we were so cool in our bell bottoms, shirts open halfway, and platform shoes.
Shiloh… The Bee Gees were masters at going from ballads to pop to disco music & back again & you may remember this song from “Saturday Night Fever”, which was the movie that absolutely turned John Travolta into a huge star in my opinion. Many would say it was as Danny in Grease, but the role of Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever was “the one” that did it. Grease turned him into a GLOBAL megastar 👍😄🌅🌅🌅. I was living in Montreal, and just loved disco music back in those days, still do today, one of my favourite genres of music.

When i was a like 5 years old i always remeber my mom and dad in bell bottoms dancing to that song , i thought they were so silly but now that im older it was pretty cool nice choice Shilo, love the lights in the background too ,now your giving me ideas to fix my bedroom now lol

So much of the music today is just so temporary and just doesn’t stand the test of time. But this stuff is timeless and will out live all of us. Like you said, it still gives you goosebumps to this day!!

The 70s, I was 11 in '77 when Saturday Night Fever movie came out. We went shopping with my Mom, and she asked which movie, SNF or Star Wars the other BIG movie that summer, my brother wanted to see Star Wars, the rest of us went to see Travolta dance his butt off. Another great summer!!

The promoters of the movie Saturday Night Fever were wise to release the movie soundtrack album a few weeks before the movie was released. Everybody loved the music right away and it definitely had an influence on box office ticket sales. I suppose I heard this song on the radio first, but it was very cool in the movie.

The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were ALL brothers and of the few, if only, who embraced funk, soul and R&B and we're successful for it.
So, they prove no matter a person's skin color, it comes from within one's soul. You've got to appreciate their mark on the World their music left. No matter the skin color of listeners of their music, their music goes past color. Exhibit A.

I used to disco dance when it was popular. I wasn't too bad but definitely not a pro.
You should really check out The Vintage Explosion. They are a Scottish cover band covering 50's songs. My personal favorite is Change is Going to Come originally by Sam Cooke.
One tune i would highly recommend listening to if you are ever stressed is "Albatross ... by Fleetwood Mac" When listening close your eyes and imagine you are looking throught the birds eyes and just gliding in the sky
