- In this video we really push to get the body of this infamous show truck finished... We take you from building a grill from scratch to adding louvre's to the hood and everything in-between.
This was a tough one to get done and the video length shows it but please stick around as there is some good stuff in there which may help with your own custom project.

Thanks Adam really appreciate it as always. Still a bit of finessing here and there but it's a good enough base for me to move onto other things and just work out anything else alongside it. Hopefully it'll get done in time but the deadline is fast approaching... At least I'll have a nice enough body to present on the final day, haha 😂 thanks again buddy, really appreciate it.

Cheers Mike really appreciate it mate. It's certainly come a long way from that first attempt on the Amt one I started years ago 🙂 I think there was more nail dust than plastic on the bench after doing those louvre's though 🙂 thanks again Mike, really do appreciate it.

Thanks Tim! Really appreciate the kind comments buddy. I don't think with the time we have I could do an actual replica but just trying to get it as close to the original look the truck had... I'll probably refine and tone down a few features but I'm really pleased with it so far. Can we just have extra month on this group build though, haha! 😂

Hi Adam, really glad you liked them in the end and to be honest it's with thanks to you that gave me a mental note not to cop out and do something more simple just because of a time crunch.. so when the truck is finished you can definitely attribute the way the louvre's look to the help you gave in the build. Glad you liked the grill too, must admit I was really happy with how that all fits together... Think that was just luck of design on the fly, haha! Thanks again mate, really do appreciate it 🙂

Fantastic update as usual John!! That is awesome. I love your louvre work. And of course the long term grill project looks like it’s turned out very well. This has been really fun to follow along with. I’m not going to shout about wheel choice. But chrome reverses look good on everything. Lol. Compared to the stock one yours just looks right. Smoother, sleeker. Going to be really sharp. Looking forward to the chassis installments. Hope you have a great week too John!

Not sure on the wheels yet but really liked when they showed it a couple of times in the early years with chrome reversed wheels and like you say they really do suit everything... I think you could put them on a modern car and they'd still look great haha. We'll see anyways but regardless I'm sure we'll capture the look of the original truck. Thanks again for everything you wrote and hopefully get another update soon enough. 🙂

@@kyledehartsscaleworks thanks again Kyle 🙂 funnily enough when I had my velvet blue e38 I always thought that would look good with chrome reversed wheels. As it has champagne leather with ink blue piping I thought I'd even get away with a narrow white band tyre with the cars colour combination. However it went from standard style 32s, then to the proper 20" softline alpinas, then onto the same 21" alpinas I have on my e65. I will buy that car back one day if I'm ever in the position to but for now I'll just have to stick with the electrical nightmare of the bugle era beamers. Thanks again buddy 🙂
@@J.B.Scale.Creations oh man. Those e38s are gorgeous! I’ve never had anything that pretty. Had an e46. Sold that. But My wife has an e92 and we have an e70 for vacations. We like them but I sure wouldn’t mind an older one too. Bet the e65 looks great on the Alpinas. And I hope you don’t have too many more electrical issues!! So frustrating!
