Let's face it the reason why Kendall got the backlash that she got was because she is related to the Kardashians. I'm a black engineering major in College and the only time I get to catch up on news events is when I'm back home (I was not offended by the pepsi ad) I don't have time to search up news events, neither do I have newspaper subscriptions or a TV. I don't blame them for not knowing what was going on. I barely have time to do that either. But we can't deny that ads exaggerate everything! Perfume makes you sexier, x makes you confident and y makes you happy and detergent turns your sheets into clouds, so of course it is unrealistic for a can of pepsi to end a riot, but its no different to the numerous exaggerations and lies that are present in advertising.

Giving someone a soda wouldn't change the world and neither will the commercial. So I don't understand the big deal about it.

I'm sorry but the Pepsi commercial wasn't that bad... people just took it the wrong way. What I got from Pepsi is, we have a split in our country(thanks to the media blowing things up) and small things can bring us together for a moment in time. It doesn't mean that Pepsi is going to fix our country and a sip of a pepsi will end our division. It just means that even people that are so far divided can agree that they like Pepsi. Still it was probably a good idea to remove it because so many people got butt hurt but I don't see the big deal.

Privat Kendall was given the offer. She probably didn't even know the premise of the commercial until filming. Also, are we really going to sit here and pretend that kendall fully understands the semantics of political cinema?
