Good stuff Chris. You've inspired me to get live plants in my house. I got two so let's see if I can keep them alive. Anyways, good to see what you've come up with and you have some great stuff!
Thanks! Yeah it’s definitely my favourite room. I’m a huge fan of biophillic design and there have been a lot of studies linking plants to several health benefits including overall general mental health including reducing stress and anxiety. Here’s a good starting point if you’re interested in these aspects. I’m not a researcher but I definitely feel better with the green surrounding me. meridian.allenpress.com/jeh/article/37/1/30/430948/An-Update-of-the-Literature-Supporting-the-Well
+1 for the Oura. And thanks for making a vid focused around sleep-we’d be much healthier as a society if we put a little more effort into getting more/better sleep.
Thanks Josh! 100% with you. I spent half a life viewing sleep as a waste of valuable time. But after spending time learning about sleep it’s been worth the investment in making sure that the time I spend with my eyes closed is as efficient and beneficial as possible.
@@Homekitgeek yup. If someone isn’t going to make MORE time for sleep, at least make the sleep you ARE getting count. “Why We Sleep” by Mathew Walker changed my life. Highly recommend. Keep up the HomeKit vids, brother. 👍🏼
Well, Eight sleep sounds like a pretty sweet adjustable mattress. I'd love to be able to customize the bed temp at night. Great video, thanks for covering some really great ways that I am sure would help most of us get a little bit better quality sleep. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Thanks Brad! Yeah the Eightsleep pod pro is kinda amazing. Not to mention it’s easy to answer the question who’s on who’s side of the bed. If it’s freezing it’s mine. :) The Eightsleep is one of those extra-mile products. If you’re not already doing the work to improve your sleep it’s probably not the first place I would start, but if you’re already doing the usual (routine/eating/exercise) things to improve your sleep and want to push i to optimizing your shut-eye it’s an awesome product.
hey Dan! Great question. I honestly don’t trust any indoor irrigation enough to risk the water damage so nothing for irrigation besides setting reminders in Omnifocus to remind me to water the plants. For the monitoring, I was using the Mi Flora plant sensors that were made by Xiaomi but they were discontinued and are hard to find now. I was happy with them and even had them integrated into my Home Assistant instance at one time and exposed out to HomeKit. Really looking for something to fill this spot in my smarthome setup.
I love smart appartements
Thanks! Smart and not just automated is definitely what I’m going for!

Thanks MDT! Start with the Snake plants as they are really hard to kill!!! ;)
I love the Stream Sounds white noise from my Apple HomePod mini. Blocks out a lot of excessive noises that tends to wake me up.
Nice! I’m a fan of the fireplace noises myself. Reminds me of camping in the forests when I was a kid.
I love the way u put the plants in your bedroom 😍
Is there any other reason besides the one you mentioned in the video??

Amazing book! I’m trying to do both make time AND make it as efficient as possible. Really appreciate the support brother!

I see you've got a bunch of plants. Do you use anything to automatically irrigate or monitor the plants' health?
