- I have been playing Cyberpunk 2077's Update 2.0 on three characters ahead of launch, so it's been a ton of time to collect my thoughts and offer a review of the new systems.
Read my articles at Forbes:

Read the sci-fi books I wrote:

I loved playing stealth in the base game. Yes, it takes much longer to finish missions, but it allows you to get more up close and personal with the game because you'll actually hear enemy NPC conversations that are connected with the mission or gig. Of course you won't hear them talking about it if you go in there guns blazing as they'll be responding to you instead.
With that said, I recognize that most players will have the most fun playing this game with the builds that Paul mentioned.
every game I play I seem to lean to stealth play.
I always try to enter stealthily but half the time it goes guns blasting 😂 like you said though I'm more interested in reading notes even when sneaking.
@@scottcunniMany games have stealth mechanics, but a lot of them don't work very well. After many hours of playing, this is the first time I haven't gotten bored of stealth gameplay and actively try to go back into stealth when it's broken
I went into cyberpunk near launch, having not really been on board the hype train at all. While noticably flawed, with my expectations not being in the stratosphere I really enjoyed myself. Excited to dive back in to try out the update and PL
same, i went into it on new gen PC hardware with no expectations of what the game was. fortunately that meant i didnt overhype myself or experience a lot of the bugs many other people did. became one of my favorite games of all time and put over a thousand hours on it since launch.
@@Clam_Chowder1995 dont understand how i stated my experience? im sorry if you had bugs, i didnt. nor did i go in with starry eyed expectations about what it would be. i dont understand what your problem is or the purpose of this comment.
Glad your son is feeling better Paul, good to see you back on the video trail too! Loved my original blade-build V in release Cyberpunk 2077, really looking forward to seeing how it's been improved, sounds really fun!
I played cyberpunk after the initial big patch they had and I've had a blast with it. I think this will be a good dlc
I got bored of having cops that did less than ps2 gta 3 cops
@@Mr.Grumps565if the update videos are real they now now have a star rating system where more stars mean bigger guns coming after you which seems decent (on paper at least)

Great video, thx for the infos, cant wait for 2.0
I haven't played cyberpunk 2077 since I first beat it months after it released. I'm excited to start a new playthrough like it's brand new again.
So excited for Phantom Liberty
Great review! Quick question for you.. if i have max skills. and i don't want to start a new game.. what happens to all those attribute and perk points i have now? do i lose them or do i get to use them on the new skill tree? thanks!
Damn that's a rough week! Glad your son is feeling better
I've not stopped playing cyberpunk in the last few months and just hit 100 hours on my save and still got new stuff to do. Very excited for PL.
@whitmanmaleman as much as I'd recommend actually buying the game, i cant recommend the game enough, the modding scene is crazy on pc (I have like 150+ installed which introduces a little jank) and at its core the story is great with tons of characters and so much stuff to do.
@whitmanmalemanas much as I was frustrated and annoyed by the early days of cyberpunk I can confidently tell you that it’s a great game now and it will be even better with the free dlc and phantom liberty of course
It’s probably my favorite atmosphere in a game since bioshock and I thought nothing would ever come close. This game is unlike anything and I feel bad for those who’ll never experience it at its max. People that follow trends and listen to people on the internet/CZcamsrs miss out on so much
I loved the video, don’t get me wrong, but the highlight was when I noticed the Grogu in the basket
been following you on twitter for years. Can't believe this is the first video of you i've seen
I have like six hundred!

That was the best animated intro EVER
After playing a lot of Starfield and Cyberpunk in the past, I am much more excited for Cyberpunk's expansion.
It’s just a better game. Starfield is too safe cringy and sanitised. I dunno what it is but bethesdas VA acting always sucks. The industry has improved so much since 2011. Yet Bethesda hasn’t evolved at all. It’s very jarring
Starfield sucks ass. Doesn't feel like a Bethesda game at all. Cyberpunk blows Starfield away. Yes, different games, but since you added Starfield to the mix, I'll say, Cyberpunk is a way better game by a lot!
I missed you Paul!
Best wishes to you and your son. Influenza is no joke.
Looking forward to CP2077 update.
just cannot stop creating builds since they released the build planner myself, just want to put my hands on 2.0 already!
I played Cyberpunk at launch on PC. I know many people experienced issues... I had zero issues and I'm thankful of that. But even if I experience some issues, I felt the gameplay in the story were very good and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I did run into the bug where the guys phone call would never happen, but besides that it didn't ruin or color my experience of the story and content. I felt like people really went hard on the hate for cyberpunk saying it was the worst game ever when I've played some pretty terrible games.
People just like to hop on the bandwagon and feed into the negativity.
I played on PC at launch and also had zero issues. like the other comment people just jumped on the hype train of negativity. they are doing the same thing with Starfield, another game I have had zero issues with.
I think it helps to have gone in without sky-high expectations. I knew nothing about the setting, never having played the TT game, and I missed the early game reveals that everyone seems to have expected the final build to be like. So I just went in expecting a good story on a par with that of the Witcher and some good gameplay and I wasn’t disappointed. The launch was, objectively, a clusterfuck, especially for those on last-gen consoles, but I have less bitter personal memories. I do think CDPR burned a lot of goodwill with that launch; it’s good that they stuck with the game and hopefully they’ve earned some back.
Thinking Cyberpunk had worse shooting then Starfield even before this update is crazy.
Right? I'm a long time Rainbow Six Siege player so I'm quite sensitive when it comes to gunplay, and Cyberpunk 2077's gunplay is really up there with the best, which is surprising since CDPR never made a shooting game before.
Ikr, some of the higher level guns in SF feel okay but I'd even go as far as to say that FO4 gunfeel clears Starfield all day and most definitely cyberpunk, even on launch.
Going to do a second playthrough when 2.0 drops and then to phantom liberty. Think I going corpo/ net runner/pistols. First playthrough was nomad had fun. Can't wait to get back into night city
I missed you! Glad your son is OK! I found cyberpunk at Walmart for 10 bucks I'm going to start this week. I'm so excited
Sounds like it's finally approaching what was marketed to us years ago. Hope it lives up to the current hype and that cdpr will want to develop another cyberpunk game but fully fleshed out
ive been debating on starting a 4th play thru or picking one of my 4 finished characters and doing the DLC....im thinking another new one lol
Starfield out here catching strays
A lot of what your describing was in the base game already. Seeing the trajectory of smart weapons and speeding up quick jacks upload speed with damage etc.
yeah trajectory I knew. I guess one difference is smart guns and hacks in a synergistic tree
@@paul_tassithoughts on lime green?
I got Cyberpunk when it first came out when I had a Xbox One S and it was unplayable. I upgraded to a series S a few weeks later, but before all the patches and it was still not in great shape.
A year later and now on a Series X - this game looks and plays amazing. A complete 180 from launch. Can’t wait for the update and Phantom Liberty.
All that money you've spent on consoles would have been better spent on a PC.
@@sandorclegane3658To play Cyberpunk, not really. Since the system requirements for the game have gone up for Phantom Liberty. You need a high end PC worth a lot more than two of the lowest end xbox's to run the game at a decent frame rate and graphic quality.
@@sandorclegane3658 I love the XBox and am happy where I spent my money. To each their own.
The queue system makes sense for a stealth build.
Update 2.0 gives a more dynamic way to engage a melee fight with NCPD and Maxtac. But one thing I've noticed in every instance while killing off some Maxtac when you've evaded them and engage another V suddenly freezes. Your character is frozen in that position after killing a Maxtac unable to do anything until your shot dead by all the NCPD and maxtac on top of you.
Im really excited for 2.0 which i consider 1.0 full release. The way i look at launch cyberpunk was like we were playing a leaked alpha version of the game. What was even more disappointing is the original system requirements were essentially a lie. They had us thinking 10 series cards could run on high settings at 60fps when in reality my 1070 was forceably locked to 35fps on medium/low in which i had to switch to a controller since that was far too slow for me. Loved the story, characters and world but perk system and melee were always rough. I have a 4070ti now and have been patiently waiting almost 3 years for this playthrough. I will always be a fan of the lore and follow the franchise for life and I feel theyve done a great job rebranding and relaunching 2077 and improving the tech as well as the game
I absolutely love everything about update 2.0! They even gave us manual first equip animations like the PC mod! Just double tap the unholster button! My sole disappointment is that the mantis blades are still visually bugged :( the same visual bug I was really hoping it would get fixed.
Cyberpunk 2077 in 2023 is finally the game that CDPR should have launched. The premature release was an unmitigated disaster. The game, though, in its 2023 state, is excellent.
Not really
do you really follow this game everywhere for 3 years? LMAO @@devondre79
Not enough romance options. Also once you finish the game there is not much to do.
PC was not that much improve. I have on relase 3 little bugs in 60h on PC, and game runs 2 times faster than Starfield on the same rig.
Forget about the past! Let's focus on the masterpiece Cyberpunk turned out to be.
Obliteration literally sounds like the Bloody Mess perk from Fallout, one of my all time favorite perks ever put into a video game
Bloody Mess is such a classic. It's especially cool if you play melee, makes it feel better in a weird way.
Yes! And I am so disappointed to not see that in Starfield.
@@astrojeet I miss the incredible violence and gore of Fallout 3. To not see that it's not in Starfield is a shame. I always find it adds to how glorious combat can feel. Gives weapons some proper oompf
@@epyjacek punching someone and having them explode would be glorious lol
@@J3wFro69 I assure you, it is pretty fun. Power Fist + Bloody mess and max STR is pretty entertaining.
I think you were ok to talk about the relic tree considering you could view the whole tree on the build planner
I’m so excited. I have 250 hours in Cyberpunk as of right now, and I am so excited to jump back into a new playthrough on Thursday
I’m 3hrs in my save on cyberpunk and stoped playing until 2.0 comes out will I still get the new stuff that’s coming to the game on my save?
With the right mods on 1.63, this was already my favorite game. Imagine how excited I am for an overhaul patch and massive expansion.
Crazy Glitch is an understatement. The game became borderlands for 3 days. Sill excited about Phantom Liberty of course.
Cyberpunk goin full Road Rash with the sword on bike thing
Do we know if they are going to add an option to skip the intro? I want to start a new game, but having to spend those first couple hours with Jackie sounds quite tedious
Nope. Theyve said nothing about being able to do that
How is the clothing now? I already know they changed how the armor system works, but did they add more clothes to overall game or in the expansion? I love playing to make my V look as cool as possible.
oh yeah there are a ton of new clothes and they rule. I think they are PL exclusive though
posted 17 seconds ago? ok i guess i'll watch some Tassi
Subbed, never played the game before, excited to one day do so, question, can i pick up the game, play the story the first time ever, then the DLC afterwards, would that be the ideal order? 🤔
Absolutely. CP2077 is one of my all time favorite games. Play through the entire game start to finish, take your time, do all the side content you want and then once you roll credits, jump into the DLC.
I've been playing since day one and I really enjoyed my time with it.
Def thought that was a titan rocking one eyed mask in the thumbnail
Hey bud. Quick question, when you boot up 2.0 and PL with an old save as an example, how'd the whole cyberware situation go? Do you unequip all cyberware and need to go to a ripperdoc or?
the cyberpunk team said previously that if we start on a ongoing save victor will text us to come and reconfigure our cyberware
Cyberpunk 2077 is a masterpiece
Lol
Lol
Lol
Your standards low asl
It honestly isn’t, but there is nothing quite like it.
Do the new finishers leave you open to attack?
I want to know if I can continue my techno grenade build. Heavy explosive class with ability to shoot through walls. Most fun I had with the vanilla game!
yeah you have so many skill points you can do whatever
I also remember them saying there will be endless events/missions? What's that all about?
Your slow time shotgun build sounds like my character in Starfield with level IV Alter Time. Its fun to shoot a room full of guys in the head and watch them all drop together
If they removed all that crafting components and stuff, should I sell all the grenades and crafting components I duplicated? What about other stuff? Is there anything else I should dismantle and sell?
They didn't remove "crafring components and sfuff".
I'm excited to give Cyberpunk another try. There was a lot to like, but also a lot that didn't speak to me. I feel like this update may be what I was hoping for.
Question, I don't recall if in 1.0 there was a respec option? Is there one now?
there has been a respec option for a while now (don't know about 1.0), although I don't remeber if it respecs attributes too or just perks, since I haven't really ever used that feature, but it definately works on perk points.
@@istvankeri6688 You can't repec attributes right now but I think you'll be able to once in the update.
In version 1.0, you could respec your Perks but not attributes if you paid enough money to the right vendor. By 1.5, you didn't even need to visit a vendor.
You get one free respec of attributes and unlimited respeccing of Perks in version 2.0, from what I've read.
I’m 3hrs in my save on cyberpunk and stoped playing until 2.0 comes out will I still get the new stuff that’s coming to the game on my save?
Yes
Are we allowed to dual wield pistols in the new update?
HAND CANNON!!!!! WHAT IS IT?!?!
the one V uses to destroy the motorcycle in the trailer. Future video pleeeease!!!
Ill be redoing my tech samurai. But instead of crafting, it'll focus on cyberware and grenades.
God yes
Just goes to show just how long it takes to really properly develop a game today for the 4k 60fps gamers. Nice to hear its finally a complete polished product. Looking forward to playing it.
They had more than enough time to deliver a quality product it was just very poor management, luckily they got a new project manager and things seem to be a lot more smooth.
Just tried it and the aiming is worse than I remember. It might just be that I played a ton of d2 in the meantime but it feels janky to me
I refunded the game about a week after release on Xbox & haven't considered purchasing again till now. Interested to what reviews look like when the PL embargo lifts.
I've not played CP2077 since Sony refunded me on launch. I picked up a CIB copy for $4 on FB Marketplace a couple of weeks ago and look forward to playing it on Launch Day 2.0

True that you will be able to reset your skills once after you beat the game
You can reset your attribute points ONCE your perk points you can reset long as you have the money
Yet another video making light that net running and melee builds have been promoted over all other builds. Pretty much emphasizing that the Jack of all master of none builds are dead. Thank you for confirming that the gun perks are stupid and everything is based on garbage some of us want nothing to do with.
Wait, they didn't change Sandevistan? I thought they would nerf that into the ground, that and netrunner are completely busted builds in the game
I brought the game when it first dropped. I think I was one of the early adopters that really did enjoy the game and I still play it now. The issue is I'm on a PlayStation 4, but hopefully in a couple months time the PS5 will be in my possession. This way I can enjoy cyberpunk as the way it was intended to come out first day. Extra guns, rework perks, and overclocking the abilities with the relic, go ahead and count me in. Me and Miss V are going to show how it's done
I really enjoyed the game upon release, playing well over 250 hours. I actually can't wait for the update and Phantom Liberty too.

DISCLAIMER I primarily play on Series X.. now that's out of the way I played Cyberpunk about 6 months ago for the first time and I thought it was an awesome RPG and a way better RPG than Starfield. I was so disappointed that I pre ordered Starfield because of how boring it is and couldn't wait to jump back into Cyberpunk.
I had less than zero interest in police chases. I’m kinda bummed they exist.

How does it run on your 3080?
Like shit.

The amount misinformation is stunning for someone who supposedly played the game like wtf.
Something to be excited about while Destiny continues to circle the drain.
And Sony and CDPR stopper supporting PS4... Cheap trick. Almost as bad as releasing a broken game and accepting pre-orders.
Fromsoft just released AC6 for the PS4, and it's amazing. CDPR, just suddenly....what?
Why does the witcher 3 have a bigger open world though..... why does it have bigger and better everything?
The Night City map in total has a bigger open world map than the Witcher 3. You can search it. Night City along with its outskirts is the biggest open game world right now. And no. As much as I love W3, it's not better in everything than CP77. First off, CP77 has much more freedom when it comes to character builds. There's also a lot more branching choices in CP77. I never fast travel in both W3 and CP77 so I know this a lot, but most of Witcher 3's open world is empty just forested areas, whereas in CP77, the city escape is just gorgeous. The amount of details they put in the architecture of the city is insane.
@@beige_projectionno now just no! Witcher 3 is better in open world design not even subjective it’s objective! There is a point of interest or event 4 minutes from the next, it’s made that way to keep you engaged, also Witcher 3 is more branching that CP2077 by a country mile! The only branching choice is the beginning
@@iOSGaming14 That's how you tell me that you havent played CP77 or at least not played it in its entirety lol how can you say that the only branching choice is the beginning with literally later side quests unlock other endings? There's a lot of branching choices in CP77. And W3 is my #2 favorite game of all time so I really love it but even I can't deny that most of its landscapes are empty. The points of interests system in TW3 are basically the same with CP77.
@@beige_projection I’ve completed it numerous times, want me to prove it!
@@iOSGaming14 I've already got a proof that you're lying by saying that the only branching choice is at the beginning lol
Thank you for the suicide tips
Thank god no more starfield shit
@whitmanmaleman Except CDPR is actually a 'good' developer that had management sell them out by shipping 2 years too early on what is now a great game, unlike Bethesda where it functioned like MS before they even bought them. Bethesda dumps a game on the market and lets other people fix it for you. Not a lot of real and/or fun content but a lot of repetitive things that OCD people can do to make them feel good about picking up all those potatoes by giving them tiny rewards that don't mean anything.
Witcher 3 taught me it’s super-ok to wait for a GOTY edition.
Your time stamps are for Starfield not cyberpunk 2077
I can't wait to start up a proper Nomad with a strong Vehicular combat focus. My Galena Gecko is about to turn into a firebreathing Kaiju Komodo Dragon!
