This is a BIG video and I'm genuinely curious what you guys think of the length, the pacing and the feel of the video. Please share your thoughts cause it helps me create better videos for you! In the meantime, enjoy true LONGform in a shortform world. Thanks guys!
I like the long form video style, especially for the travel vlogging. You also have great commentary.
As an italian I’ve to say that you’re ignorant and pretty racist with your prejudices. You should read something about the places you’re going to visit
Love the long videos the best! I felt like I was watching an episode of one of my favorite shows on Netflix.
more!
Awesome Dude!
As a Sicilian, I wish you were with a local! Sicily has soooo much more to offer. There are some very unique adventure packed activities, natural wonders and unique foods you didn't get tio experience. Would love to show you and Ruby around next time!! 😀
keep it for yourself. we saw enough to understand how weird this island is.
@@loradose5482 Take your advice and use it on your reply.
Iknow right, italy isnt about al the trendy places. But the authentic cafetarias where the locals sip their espressos
I will be in Sicily in October. :) Which activities and locations would you recommend?
I am from Palermo and felt the same way!
Man, I've lived in Palermo and you have no idea about Palermo. It's an amazing town full of incredible real people, excellent food, coffee, night life etc.
Didn t even go to monreale!
He is such an idiot. Palermo is a stunning city! With World heritage sites, great food, beaches and he goes to Ballarò? Omg
I visited Sicily as a solo female traveler in April - May 2013. I planned the trip, rented a car, and spent an entire month. I stayed in some of the very small and amazing towns as well as Palermo, Ortygia and a week in the Aeolian Islands. Visited all the temples and Villa Romana, which was the highlight of all the highlights. I loved the people who were so welcoming and the food and wine was to die for. Absolutely love bella Sicilia!
We agree that Palermo is a gritty city but that is what we loved about it when we visited a few years ago. It did not feel like a tourist destination, it felt real. Unfortunately, you missed all the interesting and cool places to visit in Palermo. You need to go back with a local!
When I went to palermo on a work trip, we spent 2 days there just waiting on our flight out. So what do we do? Walk around the city. We never felt unsafe. Our plan was literally to walk until we found someone who would sell us a beer, drink it, and continue on to the next place that would sell us a beer.
My favorite part, by far, is that you dont feel like tourist like you would in rome. You are just inserted into the lives of regular Sicilians who are carrying on their daily life.
@@kennethmc2601 So true! Walking Palermo we felt like we were looking through a looking glass into their lives!
yes that's what it's like in Catania and Palermo@@kennethmc2601
Awesome video! Love the pacing and I actually really enjoyed the length 👌 Can't wait for the next one!
Thanks Ella! Not fun to edit but a very rewarding video to hit publish on :)
Sicily is amazing! Food, prices, charming town, not a bunch of tourist, angry locals, it has it all! Great video! Thank you for informative adventure video! Thank you for inspiration create my own travel content!
the person that serves food on 2:39 - actually one of the best pizzerias in Naples (at via Foria), Lombardi 1892, work here for ages, been to Naples 10+ times and he's still there. Sicilian cannoli is the best pastry I've ever eaten and I've eaten quite a lot around the world))))
This was very helpful. I am planning a trip there next year. What would you recommend as the best time to visit considering the weather there.??
@@suprakashkar9783 if we're talking about Napoli - April-early May and end-September-October would be the best: warm weather with no precipitation. Palermo is quite the same. At the same time I've been in January and June and it is still ok, January could be rainy
sicily is another world my dears, mix of cultures, arts and foods
Hey @selita90
WOW! loving this RAW! experience you guys have taken us on in Palermo, Italy. Thanks! for bringing us a long.
I love all of Italy.. The Food, Culture and Architecture. But the people are the best.
Idk if you will ever read this comment but Christian I’ve been watching your channel for 4 years now and I always look forward to watch your videos , what adventures and new places you are going to explore and share with us! Thank you so much for helping me get through the pandemic ESPECIALLY
Transitions ^
Its been such a long time! Finally you're back but waiting for this amazing vlog was worth it!
Yeah its weird how he doesnt post videos for over a month
this says that Rome, Milan or the Cinque Terre are chaotic, obviously they are tourist locations where people come from all over the world. Half the world has known for hundreds of years that if you visit the Italian province everything is calmer and more relaxed!
What a Canadian genius!
Finally..was waiting for your travel vlog❤️ your travel vlogs are truly magical 💕
Thank you 🙏🏼 sorry to keep you waiting !
BRAVO! Sicily is so full of treasures! Glad you came. You can find laid back or go go. You can find mountains and gorgeous seas. Food is complicated: agrodolce! Balaro is awesome just have to know when and where to go. Come back soon!
Awesome video Christian, it was really fun watching it from start to end! Been watching you for a few years now and I`m just commenting to thank you for inspiring me to start creating my own travel vlogs! Greetings from Croatia!
I love a good food tour. Hitting all those spots next May. Bellissimo.
It's like the island said, "Let's throw in some ancient ruins, a dash of dramatic landscapes, and a pinch of organized chaos to keep things interesting." From the charming chaos of Palermo's markets to the laid-back luxury of its beaches, Sicily is basically a buffet of contradictions. I've been in Italy for our TV show but haven't visited Palermo. But seems worth a visit!
The world is way too big to stay in a place you didn’t connect. ❤ This sentence made my day 🙏🏻
Sicily is the BEST place in Italy to go for a beach vacation, because unlike most Italian coastline here you have so many beautiful white sand beaches. However the island is HUGE and has a lot to offer. You should give it another chance for a vacation with Ruby and have a little “dolce far niente” ❤️
Then you should definitely check out Sardegna!
@@robertafiorucci784 Yes, it is also very pristine with it’s beaches, but much more expensive than Sicily 😄
Little infrastructure, rubbish on the streets, and poor knowledge of the English language. They have to work a lot.
Living 1 hr away from sicily in Malta i must say summer in our area tends to be hot but well we enjoy it going to the beach and going for a walk or bbq during the evening. Sicily is so underrated amd everyone should visit :) love the long style content and the guide trip
Ma chi te l ha detto che la Sicilia è sottovalutata ?
It’s so nice seeing a Canadian review and a realistic view of the tour! Thank you
I watched and rewatched your video trying to figure out where I want to go for my next trip in Sicily in 3 weeks... I love your videos thank you so much ! xxx
I'm really glad you made a video about my region and the area of my hometown! Amazing content
a nice warm classic Leblanc video ! Nice!
The reason why lots of things are closed is because they take rest during the highest point of the sun. Later on the day should be everything more open again.
I have lived for 1 year in Sicily (Palermo), you show a part of the best in this video, really well done. It's just sad you didn't show the beaches of San Vito and Mondello.
Out of all the places I've been in Italy, Sicilia is my absolute favorite.
Agreed
Guys Palermo is a bit of a tricky city if you don’t know your way around just focus on the city center max 1 or 2 days and go explore other areas in Sicily like the south and east coast or even close by towns like Cefalù or Monreale, Trapani and Erice, the islands just of the coast and there is so much more that deserves to be seen.. I’m originally from a town which is about 1 hour south from Palermo and believe me the atmosphere is completely different ❤ And by the way CANNOLO with an O 😂😂😂
thank u -- cannolo. :) (singular)
The south of Italy, is a full on authentic, transparent, chaotic experience.
At the same time, it’s peaceful, untouched and not spoken about, unless you know.
I hope it stays just like that, which I’m assuming it will.
I really enjoy it and its nostalgic bc I remember u were solo travelling in asia and u are in expensive places like siccili and i love it its a different mood and setting
This video really is the reason I love watching your videos
Can't wait for the next video!
Great video Christian! Next time you'll have to check out Sardinia - I was there this summer and it's equally stunning and laid back.
I loved this vlog!😍
I learned to avoid Palermo, but had already heard it was gritty and not for tourists. You got great shots of the coast and small towns. The Brioche and gelato like side 🤤 Fabulous. 💗
❤your videos are great I totally enjoyed. Thank you
The video was very interesting, some things you said of course were just your perception, Sicily is great even for solo-travelers, the nightlife is vibrant and there are different partys in summer mostly at the beach. You could have picked some different destinations to make the best of out of the 7 days but so far you cover at least a side of Sicily, you could have spent more time in Catania and surrounding like Acitrezza. As a suggestion for next trip here you could go to Siracusa and from there explore the south part of Sicily until you get to Trapani. The stones of the roads are lava stones, used for construction in the area close to Etna, opposed to the white-yellowish constructions in the south area of Sicily made with sandstone. Life in Sicily is more slow like in any island on the world but is very rich as we have been colonized and influenced by different cultures in the past centuries, so in a so tiny region you can find a lot of difference. Thanks for covering Sicily in an honest way hope you'll be back and if you need help planning feel free to reach me.
Una regione così piccola ? Stai scherzando?
I did a Thursday- Sunday solo travel in Taormina and would highly recommend it! I did some day trips which allowed me to connect with other travelers.
This trips was beautiful! You should definitely visit more hidden gems in central Italy, 100% recommended 😄
Killin' it with the drone speed ramps! I love it!
🙏🏼Thank ya!
Love the more unscripted style and you showing us the lovey food and drinks!
I like this video. Feels more personal and real.
Nice video dude as always! Hope you have your videos again in the philippines!
loved your ability to pivot plans. great monster video!
I was Waiting for your video.
OMG you're back :D 💗
Thanks! Very good video!
Visit Agrigento, scala dei turchi. Sicily might be a hidden gem for Americans but not for Europeans. Sicily is beautiful as well as your your content is amazing!!!! In your video was missing a lot of proper sicily. My friend would be happy to give you a proper tour over there.
He is actually Canadian.
As someone who lives in Italy, visitng places like these probably are pretty calm during the month of August as that's when the locals leave. Great video! I am going there to shoot content in 2 weeks!!
Great blog....Amalfi coast is also so beautiful
thank you for this inspiration ;)
Actually been there the last 9 days, great recap here 😁👌🏼 greetings from Germany 🫶🏻
Thank you for sharing this video. I really appreciated your honest reflection about Palermo. Often people gloss over the surface and don't keep it real about their experiences. Well done for keeping true!
Please be respectful to people when you film them. You definitely need to ask about it, you cannot just film people, put it to CZcams and expect them to be ok with it. Also here is not Bali, you are in Italy what kind of specialty coffee are you looking to drink there?
Being annoying weird Americans they don't like
Italians are the kindest people ever, if you respect them and their culture I don’t think you will face any racism.
Beautiful!
I’m Sicilian living in China. I was in Sicily few months ago for my wedding with foreign friends and family. I agre with your feeling about the island. Unfortunately also with the other downside you saw of Palermo 😑.
I will be in Bali next month. Hope to find you there!
I have been to Sicily twice, and going again in April, all for work. Spend about a month there every time. They must have increased the gondola price, it was only 30 euro in 2021. I had to take the Unimog up there once, all the way from the bottom. That crazy Sicilian drove like a maniac.
I was wondering when the next one was! Awesome vid 🤙
Sorry for the wait !!
@@lostleblancWhat month was this? It wasn't August by chance was it? If so google ferragosto
Masterpiece!
Such a lovely trip 😍
This is epic 😮
I just laughed and chuckled my way through this and it definitely didn't feel too long as it was so well paced - luigi martini - haha
He deserves his own episode hahah. Glad you managed through this full episode. Thanks Julie!
Everyone has different experiences. I had the most amazing 9 days in Sicily, and people were kind to me no matter what parts I was in.
Excellent video, just the right length
Cheers
Wonderful 🥰
I’m actually planning to go visit Sicily at the same time.🤘🏻
Lovely
I loved Sicily so much and planning to go back next month. I don’t feel your video and your overall mood on this particular trip did justice to the incredible natural, beauty, adventure, cultural and historical richness of the island. Maybe it was the heat, not well planned/ researched, or the need to have someone to share the experience with. not best traveling in the middle of summer/high season either.
In Italy everything closes from 1 pm to 4 pm
seeing it is 43 min long made me sooo happy
Glad to hear that :)
havent seen you in a while was getting a little worried. thanks for this
Beautiful 💙
cool trip! I did it the opposite direction in 2 weeks, from Catania/Taormina all the way to Palermo but going what I think is the best part of Sicily, all the way down to Siracusa (amazing), Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Agrigento (valley of the temples, amazing!), Sciacca, Marsala, Erice (amazing!), San Vito lo capo, Scopello and back out from Palermo airport... I think you may have chosen the "wrong way round" missing out the best parts...!
We saw many of those locations too on our adventure. Truely amazing!
Worth it to watch Christian ❤
Nice video! Next time try Módica and Agrigente. Best places in Sicily ♥️♥️
Módica is great for the food Agrigente is just a must have seen place.
Finally you visit Sicily lol 🎉
When in Europe, you have to ask permission to everyone around before appearing on your pictures/ videos *Is not a mafia thing, is privacy and consideration to others that may not want to be on a public video. * oh, and is a big No No to take pictures of children.
Sicily is amazing. Next time you have to go to Puglia, another gem ;)
That was my 1st choice but chose sicily because of flight choices. Next year!
@@lostleblanc 😍 I can't wait to watch that video then, maybe try to avoid August, too overcrowded. If you can go in June or the beginning of July, to enjoy it more.
Favignana & Lampadusa Islands at the Trapani side, further away from Scopello are the gem of the gem of Sicily.
Wow….beautiful place…🫰🏼
Benvenuto in italia, e veramente bellissima 😊
Gratzi!
Christian you should pop over to Malta, its only 90 mins away from Sicily by high speed catamaran!
At the Airport now on my way to Sicily !!!
What camera and lens did you use for this video?
Great video
Perfect as always. Is it Europe's turn now? What comes next? Prague?😉
Awesome footage, is this mavic footage in dlog? really wish I could get out of my 9-5 job feel like am rotting away.
my family came from sicily my great grandparents
Nice colour grading in this one my friend :)
"The Sicily Odyssey takes us on an incredible journey through the mesmerizing island of Sicily. 🏝🇮🇹 From its rich history to its stunning landscapes, this odyssey promises to be an unforgettable adventure. Can't wait to explore Sicily through your lens!" 📷🌄 #SicilyOdyssey #TravelInspiration
You forgot to try Arancini! This is why i love Sicily ❤
This was an amazing video. You have done an amazing job. Have you been in Norway?
Im also a solo traveler. I haven't been to Italy yet.
Great video as always!
Thank you!!
It’s illegal in Europe, just to film people first of all. Secondly if you’re gonna go to markets, you have to go in the morning. They usually close around one or two.
Good video. Just something random I wanted to ask. The airpods was to have a better sound? I mean was you recording the sound with the phone or? 🙄
How do you make those maps ?
You really missed it! That town you overlooked on the way to Caletta de Blue Maina is Castellammare del Golfo. The birthplace of my grandfather. Awesome town!
