Hi Jason. Just taken delivery of the Mobius 0.2. Looks great. I've been putting off painting stripes on my Airfix 1/72 Tiger 1. Going to give this brush a go on that. Not an expensive mistake if it all goes wrong. Got an email from Gaahleri saying the european warehouses are now open. Graeme
Nice in depth review. I think itll struggle to beat H&S for longevity though. Time will tell.
I purchased a GHAD-39 as a back up brush - its not bad, again time will tell.

Jason, I actually emailed Gaahleri a week ago regarding swapping needle/nozzle between the 0.2 and 0.3, as I prefer the style of the 0.3.
Here's what they said - Regarding your question, yes, it is possible to replace the needle/nozzle/air cap of a 0.3mm airbrush with those of a 0.2mm airbrush. However, please keep in mind the following:
You cannot simply replace a single component; the needle, nozzle, and nozzle cap need to be replaced together for the change to take effect.
Due to differences in manufacturing settings between the two airbrush models, including air flow and other factors, even with the replacement, you may not achieve the optimal performance expected from each model individually.
Considering these points, I would recommend against such a replacement. However, if you find purchasing two separate airbrushes cumbersome, you may proceed with replacing the air cap along with the other components for your convenience.
Take from that what you will.

Hi Jason, I’ve got the 0.2 and got to say it’s a great brush. The thing that impressed me the most is how smooth the trigger action is which considering its function straight from the box is excellent and has proved great when doing fine work.
I’ve got a few air brushes including the H&S like yourself as well as other H&S and Iwata brushes etc. (Think I’ve got a bit of a problem🤔)
This brush is great and I find works well with either lacquer or acrylics the secret I’ve found is ensuring each medium is thinned to the correct mix.
For the price it demonstrates in my opinion excellent value for money in both the materials used in its construction and the quality of its operation.

I have no issues with either my Mobius or the swallowtail, the latter with 3 different needles and fluid tips, 0.28, 0.50 and 0.70. Excellent value for money.
I have purchased a couple of these cheaper options and the major point of failure usually fairly quickly is the needle tightening screw. They also have very thin needles which are prone to bending.

@@ModelkitStuff if I remember correctly the needles are made from spring steel, so the needles should be able to stand a level of small mistreatment before being damaged.

Hi got one in a .3 and it is a good brush haven't yet tried fine detailing with it but what I've done with it so far is pleasing think it's on par with the creos ps 270 👍
Another good video Jason question since you have done two videos on airbrushes do you plan on doing a tool video on compressor for anyone interested in getting into airbrushing?
Neoeco also encloses a spare set of seals with their airbrushes. They also enclose the quick connector.

Hi Jason , thanks for a great review. Can I ask your opinion on something that I never see in airbrush marketing blurb, would both the airbrushes that you have reviewed be suitable for long term use with enamel or lacquer paints?

Yes, absolutely they have PTFE seals which is what you are looking for for solvents. cheaper and none branded brushes dont have these seals more expensive brushes tend to. I understand that all the Gaahleri brushes have seals that cover all paint. if you want to be doubly sure there is live chat on the website.

Hi Jason, how would you compare it with the ghad-39? As you mentioned the latter is entry level, but apart from a smoother paint cup and better nozzle (and maybe the weight?) I cannot tell the difference. How do you see this?
(BTW I ordered ghad-39, still waiting the delivery but I'm just curious 😄)
I ordered the Gaahleri-39 and it took 6 working days to be delivered.
Depends on where you are with your airbrushing skills. The 39 gives you 2 needles which is helpful from the off the Mobius gives you a more refined feel and is more comfortable especially for extended sessions, the two flats on the body mean your not putting pressure on your thumb. It’s a bit easier to clean and your atomisation is more refined both are good instruments

I have this brush and also because my hands suffer from rheumatoid arthritis especially in the fingers I have purchased the swallowtail which comes with alternate needles and fluid tips. I find the trigger really helps reduce the pain levels when painting.
I have found their customer service to be really helpful and quick to respond.
Another thing is do joinmthere reward system. It’s quick and easy to earn points. I did this before buying the first brush and claimed free postage. This was on top of a 20% off the price.

I liked the strip down diagrams but was not keeping the boxes. I asked if there was anyway to get a copy of the diagrams. They hadn’t been asked before but quickly prepared me a pdf file of both brushes I own, sent by email.
All in all I’m very impressed with both their products I have purchased.
@@ModelkitStuff Thanks for the reply. I've been airbrushing for 15 years but never got the hang of it. Always struggling with my Badger brushes, especially with the Teflon washer leaking air from the nozzle into the paint. I hope to make a fresh start, so to say. I look very forward to try the ghad-39.

Not trying to be negative but....
For many years I've restored, repaired and ridden motorbikes. British, Italian and Japanese.
Last year, I got a Mash 400 to fix. That is a Chinese copy of a Honda, a licensed copy. From the outside, it looks the same.
Truthfully, it's awful. The metal is like plasticine, the fit and finish dreadful, the fuel injection system was like something home made and I doubt it had ever run correctly.
It would have retailed at about half of a comparable Honda...
See where I'm going with this?
I'm not hugely anti-Chinese, but there will be a reason why they are so cheap.
That said, when you do your compressor video, I might invest in one of these airbrushes too.

This isn’t one of the cheap Chinese brushes though, they can be bought for £30 on Amazon. The quality of the Gaahleri brushes is much improved on these but markets at an attractive price scale for what you get.
Interestingly I have some of these dirt cheap brushes and they work well if maintained. To use another comparison in the Vietnam war when the M-16 was introduced they couldn’t take the conditions and frequently jammed, The AK47 with its cheap pressed parts and massive tolerances allowed it to be buried in mud and sand, and just dig it up and it worked, so much so that American troops would collect AKs for when their own weapon invariably jammed.
My cheapos are still used mainly for primers and clear coats or where large kits require an all over base coat, although it will be interesting to see how the swallowtail performs with the 0.7 setup.
I work with Chinese companies a lot in my day job and generally quality of engineering has moved on a lot in the last 20 years, thats why companies like apple invested their reputation on their products made in china. yes its always worth being sure a product is good quality, thats why I review tools, I have had some howlers! but these are not copies these are precision instruments they design themselves not to copy but innovate. costs can be lower due to lower overheads, not taking as much margin and of course not paying for the brand name . If you sell volume you don't need to cover your P&L with inflated prices. these are great products at a fair price, if I thought it was not a good product I would say so. Take a look at all the positive comments being left by people that have them and don't forget to use my 10% off discount code when you get one.
@ModelkitStuff As I said, at those prices I'm willing to take a punt. I need a new compressor though, and I'm waiting for your thoughts on those.
I Bought the gaahleri-39, and tried it out at the weekend, I've been using an H&S Evolution until now. As an Entry level airbrush the Gaahleri-39 is value for money, especially if you're new to airbrushing and also need a compressor, the costs can spiral quite a bit.
Having used it at the weekend with the .3 needle it will likely become my fine detail or shading airbrush rather than covering large large areas. I also found that playing with the adjustment on the back it allowed me to control the flow a lot more by limiting the movement on the trigger.
In regards to cleaning it was easy when compared to the H&S, especially the nozzle, and needles.
Your comparing apples to helicopters there bro. The device you're reading this on right now was made in China. Is it garbage? How does that Iphone or Android compare to your Chinese motorcycles? Same level of quality? No? Hmmmmm. . . .
I agree that the materials and build quality of the Mobius is on par with German and Japanese made products. However, the fact that you haven't posted a video of it in actual use yet says something went wrong with it. Bad nozzle? Jammed trigger? Won't stop dripping paint all over the place? 😮 Its the QUALITY CONTROL, NOT quality of materials or build from Gaahleri that keeps them from succeeding. . .
not at all I have successfully used it on my B-17 build yet to be aired. my build videos are 4-6 weeks behind me. If you watch my table talk videos I have confirmed I have used it and very happy with it. a brilliant tool.
