The Terminator Cobra is an American legend. In the shadow of Chevy's Camaro SS the Mustang GT just wasn't cutting it anymore. SVT decided they needed to do something drastic to the "terminate" the competition. They came up with a car nobody expected. The supercharged screaming machine that is the 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra. With Manley rods from the factory and a reinforced crank, the Terminator was given the nickname "the American Supra" in the early 2000's. With its intimidating looks, ferocious sound, and great handling; this Mustang was finally a true contender in the American sports car market. It now remains the only model in its New Edge generation to hold its value near the original asking price. So what makes the Terminator stand the test of time compared to the rest of the Mustang lineup? Let's go for a drive and find out! I have a 14 5.0 but man, the Cobra’s are just so so bad ass still to this day. When you see a Cobra you get a certain “oh shit it’s a cobra” vibe from a 17 year old car... They will always be a legendary car and will forever be one of the greatest Mustangs ever.

I remember the 1st Terminator I met on the highway in Phoenix. I was driving a Merkur Xr4Ti running ~21psi. I egged him on and that car squatted and disappeared. It was brutal!

@Jacob Tratnyek there probably would be no hellcat if it weren't for the Terminator, the Terminator Cobra has come to revolutionize the American muscle cars being one of the first and greatly built American pony/sports car to come supercharged from factory. Again there probably wouldn't be any camaros or chargers, challengers and others because all those competitors came in after Ford's success with the mustang to compete in that field.

I’ve owned my 03 Cobra since the fall of 02. My life has never been the same. It was a good 10 years before mid to high range muscle cars started to impress me again. I don’t think there will ever be another car produced that was as good of a value at the time as that Terminator was for what you get and what you could make it out of the box.
I was spoiled though because dad bought his GN in 87 when I was 5 years old so the bar has always been pretty high for me.
It seems like Everytime David does a review with the owner in the car he does a pull Everytime their trying to explain something lol

My uncle sadly passed away from cancer and my dads the only one left in his family so everything went to my dad and even his cobra and my dads gonna do everything my uncle wanted to do before he sadly passed 😔 and we are even gonna put his ashes in a necklace and put the necklace around the mirror so he goes everywhere we go in his cobra so if we send it he’s gonna be sending with us.

03 Cobra is by far top 5 best cars made based on form, function and mechanical.... You can't beat it from factory. And I do NOT like mustangs. But those are amazing vehicles.
Sold my 2012 5.0 for 19k just over 2 years ago. I went and looked at a 13 Boss 302 at an Autonation dealer. They would take my offer of $36k for a GHIG Boss with 7k miles on it. An hour and a half later I was in Colorado Springs looking at a Terminator. I was skeptical about his ad how clean it was. I put a deposit on it and picked it up the following weekend. 2004 Torch Red with just over 24k miles. K&N filter and Borla Stingers are the only mods. Stock pulleys as well. Still have the original air box just not the cat back. The Boss 302 I offered on finally left the dealership with a price of about 33k. I'm glad they didnt take my offer but Autonation dealerships dont negotiate anyway. I'm very happy with a damn near stock Terminator!!!!
I bought my dream car recently. 2004 Redfire Whipple Terminator. I smile every time I'm in it. I definitely recommend buying one.
Oh yea, folks think we buy them just to go balls out in them. But I enjoy just regular cruising, the sound, the look of it etc. That’s what makes me smile!

Cole Jones those do sound great but after the 4th gen they didn’t have that same sound that they did with the older muscle cars. Personally I’m not a huge fan of the new GT500 but the 5.4 and 5.8 were amazing sounding

Love my 18 5.0 and wouldn’t dream of selling now (though gt350s are amazing) but I always wonder if it will just get lost in the list of 5.0s as new ones come out

I bought one of these (convertible) new in 2003 and later took it to VIR for a race weekend. The instructors there drove our cars around the track with us. Most were little JDM rally car drivers and they couldn't get over how well the car got around the track in stock form.
With a little bit of tweeks here and there, that terminator engine, is damn near bullet proof, and to the extra parts being carried around, any car enthusiast always has spare parts, it just goes with it, all my cars carry an extra belt, certain sensors, and bulbs of certain type, plus if you sell the car dealerships or private buyers will pay you extra for those parts. This is one of my fav Ford engines ever made... Love the paint

I’m one of those old guys you were raggin on with the ‘New Balance” shoes 😳 I have a 94 GT with a Pro Charger and tons of mods, an 05 GT with mods and a CDC ‘glassback ‘ roof, a 15 GT Performance Pack with an exhaust and Cold Air Kit and finally my ‘BABY- an 04 Terminator Vert in Competition Orange, one of only 72 orange convertible Terminators in 04. I have attended many shows and traveled in the mountains and to Mustang Week 10 times and miss it the last 2 years , hopefully it will be held next year. I had to laugh at the comment about the ‘old guys’. Oh, by the way, I’m a recently retired school teacher of 45 years and I’m 68 !!

I own a 03 terminator convertible as well. I have stock injectors with the stock ported supercharger pushing 17 psi, long tube heaters & a tune. It makes 500hp & 542 torque to the wells. That is about the limit with stock injectors but it makes a good amount of power with out spending crazy amount of money. I love my terminator how it pulls & wines with tock supercharger.

10:38 rip cylinder 7 valve seats. Ended up rebuilding the entire top end and putting in head studs and the head cooling mod. Now my terminator is ready for more boost!

Theres some out by me but they're still going for like 25k with 100k on them. I found one with 18k miles on it for 32500, bone stock, sonic blue. Im kicking myself for not getting one years ago before they all got wrecked or thrashed and then overpriced for resale
