    I have been riding bikes for 32 seasons. I was in the market for a new ride. This video is what actually finally convinced me to go for this model after narrowing down the field. Great all round bike. Yes, the grey "F" is ABS at least here in Canada.

    Have an '09 F. And I love it! Live in Ontario, Canada. My F weights 541 pounds wet. Like the extra weight! Gives extra stability in windy conditions. Very torquey. Pulls hard in every gear. Bike is comfortable at the track as it is in highway traffic. All day riding comfort. Best bang for ur buck! Nice vid!

    this is one of my all time favourite videos. It is very informative and shows off the bike excellently. Chris Moss (rolling stones gather no -) is a likeable, funny guy; I love his Lancshire(?) accent, its so strong. And apparently he really knows how to ride; he is believable. I will be the first to think about buying this bike when I get back to the UK. It is just what I'm looking for after not riding for 30 years.

    The GSX is a superb machine. I ve owned mine for over a year now and it' never broke down. I've only done general services. Tires brakes oil. I originally bought the GSX as acommuter. Let me tell you I've rode 300 mile days with the stock seaT AND had no complaints. The bike is comfortable. It's my sport tourer now. It's plenty fast. I cAn keep up with the BMWS in my group. BMW wishes they could design something as reliable.

    This is a fantastic motorcycle. I've owned my GSX650F since June 2010, and have ridden it nearly every day since. It is everything Chris Moss describes in this video, and more!
    And BTW: It's NOT a "beginners" bike. I've been riding for over 30 years, and it is everything I could want in a mid-sized, sporty motorcycle.

  • @magnusconsul
    @magnusconsul Před 13 lety

    I had brought one and I have not been disappointed, I agree that its like 3 bikes in one. A great bike for a beginner rider, or for some one who has had lots of bikes and wants to go for short and long distance rides. I put on a Top Box and use soft panniers for my touring and it works a treat, I also put in a taller windshield and I am one happy rider. If you can only own one bike, this is a good one.

    I have had my 2008 GSX650F for 2 years now put about 5k on it mostly as a weekend fun bike. 50% of my riding is going place to place and the other 50% is canyon carving! I ride most the time with 2 friends we all have a fews years of riding under our belts. this bike even with its said 85ish HP keeps up no problem with a 04 CBR600rr and a 06ZF1000. yes im sure on a track with a pro rider there would be a big difference, but for the normal person riding at 7 /10ths all things are equal. its fast enough to be very fun ( no its not a busa or a S1000rr fast )
    ( this bike will do 130+ MPH no problem and 0-60 is something like 3 ish sec. I have never timed it but its faster than a vett. (maybe not a ZR1 vett or GTR )
    (disclaimer this was all done on closed track )
    I just hit 20k and the bikes still runs super smooth. adding stickier tires over stock makes a difference I run rosso II's. I feel like they get the most out of what this bike can do.
    I have a 2 bothers exhaust and high flow filter for my only power mods and I think that makes the bike sound 100 times better over stock. not sure about Hp gains never dynoed it.
    the GSX650F is good for a ''taller'' rider, not great for someone under 5'4''. i'm 6' 185lbs and the bikes fits me perfect I can ride for hours and feel fine after vs riding a super sport.
    If you are looking to buy GSX650F I have nothing but good things to say about mine.
    If you have any questions about the bike feel to ask me i'm happy to help if I can. happy ridding !

    I've owned one of these for 2 years and it is all he says it is - great around town, loads of grunt - (more torque than sport) and an excellent tourer. I've done several 600km plus trips and found it really comfortable to ride. Only down side is it can be quite heavy and easy to put down at super low speeds - particularly for the shorter rider. There's a LAMS version as well, so for daily commuters who want weekends away it's an excellent choice! And then there is the cost!!! ($10.5k in Aust.)

    I owned the bike (08 version) and rode it many, many miles without too many a hitch. The only issue I ran into with this bike was seriously non-standard design in some places. Every-time I asked the mech to do something he complained about it and charged me more (could have been the bike or him!)... otherwise, probably most reliable bike I've owned! The bike (along with my ankle) finally stopped working when someone drove into the side of it (with me on it). Now i have gsxr as replacement.

    Looks like a good buy.
    Have no idea if it has been updated in recent years though, and I have to say I think my 2012 DL650 V-Strom is the better buy if you're going for a 650 Suzuki now.
    I must confess though, I have never ridden anything labeled as a 'sports bike'.
    Thanks for the upload.

    • @saulocpp
      @saulocpp Před 8 lety

      +staninjapan07 You are a Suzuki man, so you know these intermediate bikes are the best bang for the buck, all the GSXF line is very honest. I have ridden a 2014 650F and noticed small incremental updates, like an ABS, new graphs, but the machine is essentially unchanged, as Suzuki normally does with bikes of this segment that are well established and, if heavily upgraded, will have impact on cost. Think of it as a Bandit or a Hornet, they are essentially the same bikes for years and years. I own an old GSX600F from 1996 and felt at home riding a new model, and though they ride nearly the same, you can tell the 650F is a bike better finished with very good quality, against the reputation of the cheaper 600F. Comparing to your DL650, which I rode one from a friend, they are very different bikes (inline 4 vs V2, riding position), the 650F is a more responsive bike hands down, but the DL650 has more comfort for pillion and stronger low rev. Why don't you give it a try?

    • @staninjapan07
      @staninjapan07 Před 8 lety

      Saulo Silva Thank you. Here in Japan, test rides are difficult to come by, although it was not too difficult getting a test ride of the Japanese and European models of the V-Strom - I chose the Japanese one with shorter gears and an engine cover as standard. I would love to try this featured bike though. Thing is... I would not buy anything that my lady could not sit on with me comfortably for 2 or 3 hours at a time.... O.K. I need to have 2 bike, plus my scooter for work :)

    • @saulocpp
      @saulocpp Před 8 lety

      +staninjapan07 The 650F is fine for your 2-3h ride with pillion, no problem. Just remember that this inline-4 likes a bit more rev, it won't "wake up" so early as you DL650, where you already have power at around 3000-3500rpm. With a pillion, I know that myself, the 650F will need some 5000rpm. For long trips with your lady, the DL650 might be the better choice, but for solo runs, the 650F is more fun and nimble. And their 2nd hand price is hard to beat. Go to my channel and you will see a quick commute on my trusty old 600F.

    @Sameer2762 Před 12 lety

    umm, yes may be. coz the one with the silver 'f' qualifies as learner's or something in some country, may be Australia, someone from Aus can clarify even better, what I think logically is it must be one with the ABS since it qualifies as the learner's bike and then for this reason it has lower power output.

    • @andrewpeters7785
      @andrewpeters7785 Před 5 lety

      There is a GSX650F version sold in Australia that is ecu restricted to 36Kw/50hp. Learner approved criteria is maximum 150kw/ton power to weight ratio and 660cc engine size.

    Excellent engine, excellent handling, excellent on nearly everything. It's a crying shame that every suzuki bike has paint about 1 atom thin so little flies will rip the fairings into dust. It's also a crying shame that Suzuki don't appear to understand that certain metals rust...Seriously, friend of mine with a Suzuki GSR750 and within 1 month into winter the engine CRACKED, and everything was furring up with literally 3-4mm of rust, after 1 month! And he sprayed tonnes of ACF50 on it.

The stock exhausted is so huge and ugly, you have spend to replace it. have an leovince with db s and now it sounds ok. fuel comsumption is not significantly lower then the z750s. 1liter makes about 16/17km. afterall you get a lot of bike for a good price, but i would rather have my crushed z750s

    I now own one, due to a write off of my Yamaha. Other bikes were too pricey. This bike for a 650 with fairings is very cheap.
    So far had it 1 month. It has been in more garages and DIY jobs being fixed than being ridden.
    Avoid like the fucking plague. I take back how it is an excellent engine as well, not smooth at all. Jittery when decelerating and lumpy. Gearboxes which suzuki are renowned for is loose and clunky and filled with false neutrals which I havent seen in bikes since the 90's

      I'm close at 1.9 m. I have 1' handle bar risers on mine and work good for me. Test ride one and see for yourself if it fits you?

    Great bike. Just a shame it has a chrome bazooka bolted on the side.

    from the video I can see that it rolls on wheels....don't all motorcycles do that? I didn't see anything impressive. A 1980 Honda can do all the things you showed. Not trying to be rude but really.....
