Hey Pete! As much as I share your frustration with positive caprolls, statistically those can occur "often" when the troop count is low. Also, I think you're falling victim of the negativity bias, for which you tend to remember more occurences of things that piss you off than of positive things. I say this because watching your vids I often see negative caprolls, but those are not acknowledged as much.
I think most internetians have negativity bias 😂
A very good distinction to make is that the frequency of them occuring is WAY more likely with smaller numbers.
Humans have a negativity bias so that's very normal. My point is that positive cap rolls should occur at such an infrequent rate with natural odds that something is very obviously broken with the dice algo and it doesn't seem to be being addressed.

That capital roll on round 1 was such a great roll. I never won with those numbers, he lost a lot but actually took the capital was amazing.
Capping right next to someone is kind of a strategy though. Because if they bot then you get the cap for free most of the time.

I am a noob that only watches risk. And doesnt play. What are the odds rolling into someone cap vs off cap? The rolls seem all over the place. I thought there was attackers advantage normally and perhaps defensive favor on cap. But some of the rolls make it confusing
Caps should be highly defensive. You realistically need more than double to take a cap.
The way it works is that the attacker always gets 3 dice, the defender normally gets 2 dice which gives the attacker advantage, but when you are defending in a cap you defend with 3 dice instead of 2 (which statistically gives the defender a massive advantage). Unfortunately on the blitz settings a cap roll with a low(ish) amount of troops has pretty wild variance currently, and people claim even big stacks have pretty ridiculous RNG. Pete's roll on the 22 should be an expected cap roll outcome, but since we see positive cap rolls so often it feels like it's a shit roll.
