Supermarkets Could Face Billions In Fines Under New Mandatory Code

The Federal Government has agreed to make the formerly voluntary food and grocery code mandatory and will fine supermarkets if wrongdoing is proven.

This will have the opposite effect. Farmers able to get their asking price (with less pushback from the supermarkets) will mean prices will be higher as supermarkets will just add on their markup.
The cost of living is increasing and the governing is scap goating this to the supermarkets to distract from governments own failures
