The EXO-AT960 Modular Helmet has evolved from one of the most popular Adventure Motorcycle helmets on the market; the EXO-AT950. Maintaining its high value (in addition to U.S. DOT Certification), ScorpionEXO has now added the latest ECE 22.06 Safety Rating, which requires a wider range of testing than the previous 22.05 certification. The EXO-AT960 can be used as a full face ADV helmet with external peak visor attached, or the peak visor can be removed for a more aerodynamic touring helmet. The oversized eye port is extremely wide for greater peripheral vision and downward visibility, and the modular chin bar can be conveniently flipped up. The internal drop down Speedview sun-visor allows you to adjust to changing lighting conditions throughout the day. Additionally, the no-fog Everclear face shield can be removed and you can use the EXO- AT960 with goggles for off-road use. Three shell sizes made of Advanced LG Polycarbonate and dual density EPS, result in a helmet that is light weight, strong, and protective. And for those who need to stay connected, the EXO-AT960 was specifically designed to integrate with the new EXO-COM BlueTooth Communicator Kit while the large speaker pockets also make it compatible with many other com systems in the market.

11:25 - I quickly discovered the red chin bar release and the chin vent tab work together with the finger and thumb to facilitate a comfortable and natural-feeling means of lifting the chin bar while wearing the helmet. 👍 Not so much if you are holding it in your hands however.

I got one of these slightly used (basically brand new) for $70. Didn't even know it was modular until a week in when I was like "ooh whats this button".
I got a killer deal on this helmet, which is already a killer deal at its price point. Very happy and loving the miles spent in it.

I bought mine a month ago for my electric hyper scooter and I love it! It's so comfortable and versatile, will be getting a blue mirror shield soon!
I’ve been using for a month already definitely a must buy. It provides a the creature comforts and it’s affordable. The only negative is that scorpion hasn’t made a lot of add-ons to it. That’s it.

I'm from New Zealand and was searching the internet to find info on my Scorpion helmet so I can order a new plastic visor when I came across your excellent helmet video. While it appeared the same as mine, there were subtle differences and I didn't figure out why until reading the comments section and finding that there is a euro version, the ADX2 which mine is. I bought it in a rush from a bike shop when my old Nolan broke on a trip.
It was an interim measure that became a permanent one as It was so comfortable from the get go, just like your favorite pair of old jeans. I got the carbon fibre look one with stainless nose mesh and it looks a million bucks as well. So no negatives to me in buying one, it replaced a $1300 helmet seamlessly and to be honest, I like it better.

Please note that the faceshield cannot be cracked open slightly to allow a small flow of air to defog the interior side of the faceshield when its cold and raining. The first detent allows too much rain to enter and soaks your face. The next few detents position the lower edge of the faceshield directly in front of the rider's eyes and dangerously obscures the rider's view of the road.
It is a bummer that there is no option to have the shield cracked open slightly.
I have both the AT 950 and 960. I love my 950, the 960 kinda sucks. Heavier, the flip down visor doesn't operate as well, the chin area is shorter meaning I can touch my lips to the front. It doesn't carry the weight the same as the 950. With 30-40k miles on a 950 I regret purchasing the 960.
Hey, does the 960 drop down lenses have the rattle that was notorious in the 950 when in the up position?
That’s my main grip with the 950. The rattle of the drop down visor.

@@winduncan9818 I have had my 950 since 2018 and never had an issue with it rattling. Guess I'm lucky. After seeing this review, I think I would buy an new 950 again over to 960, especially with having a Cardo I usually wear on the left side of the helmet.
Can the 950 chin bar be locked in up position so it doesn't accidentally fall down when offroad
@@tomfagro6744 No, but the chin up is heavy and off balance, you wouldn't want to ride with it up anyway.

After watching I think I’ll stick with my 950 with my packtalk black
I also see no reason to retire a perfectly good AT950 for the sake of the upgrades on the AT960. I was needing a new helmet anyway, and knew the 960 was in the works, so I decided to forgo the 950 and keep my old helmet in service for an extra few months till it became available. So far I'm really happy with my decision.

@@josemanuel2244 my packtalk bold… the battleflauge camo, and just seems like it’s not worth it to pay that when the helmet I have has plenty of life left and features! Also that chin vent once removed makes a great spot for go pro, the 960 doesn’t pop out. Know if I didn’t have a helmet or busted the 950 I most definitely would go for the 960, but only if I don’t splurge and get the klim krios pro because every other piece of gear I own is klim, (boots adventure gtx, pants Marrakesh, jacket Carlsbad, gloves Baja s4.) I believe they have the best and safest gear!
I agree, the apparent inability to run a Sena or Cardo in the standard location (who mounts a comms unit on the throttle side ? No one thats who) is a deal breaker for me. What a shame.
Oh….yeah…that visor switch is right where my Sena goes. I’m out. Wish they’d keep making the 950
Not sure if Scorpion will come out with an updated version of the 950.
One thing missed is there is a vent slide on the inside of the chinbar aswell. I wasn't getting ventilation though the front and found the slider on the inside aswell.

Funny to see the differences between the European ADX-2 and the American AT-960. In Europe, we get the pinlock shield (+ lens) and a microlock chinstrap as standard. Great helmet though. I've been using mine for a few months now and am really enjoying it!

Sounds like it might be worth buying from out of the country and shipped to the USA.
I heard that there are problems with the peak. It vibrates strongly at speed and many people take it off. I have a bmw r1250gs. Has anyone ever ridden in it?
The main problem with such reviews is "office shooting". You need to understand how the helmet works on the street!

Fantastic video as always. Looking on your website I don’t see that Scorpion has a replacement clear shield with the pin lock. Is that correct?

I’ve been using the 960 for several years now. All and all I like it, but it is heavy!! I wish scorpion would make the 950 without the modular, and drop down shades functions. That would shave a LOT of weight.

I use a Packtalk Slim. Do you think it will mount on the left side? It uses metal brackets that slide between the shell and liner. It is currently mounted on a 950.
Ever figure this out? I'm looking at a new helmet too with a slim
@krajus83 I made it work, but it's not ideal. It fit the 950 great, but I had to whittle on the Slim to make it work. If I was starting from scratch I would either get the 950 or a different Cardo unit.

It would be a tough fit. We would recommend the Packtalk Edge/Neo or Freecom 2X/4X.
