Been following them since 2016. Saw them live in 2018. As an "older" fan in my 60's I continue to be impressed by their musicianship and commitment to their craft. They only seem to get better over time. So rare.
@@dougcallaghan6075 , they've been coming to the U.S. since 2015. They're huge in England and portions of Europe. I don't know that they'll ever be mainstream here though. They are actual musicians and Music by musicians doesn't really do well here any more. Music in America is force fed to the lowest common denominator. If it's simple, autotuned and written by the same 2 or 3 people it will get airplay, otherwise no.
WFUV was the first US station to recognize their extraordinary talent, recording them January 2015, 5 months before the release of their debut full length album.
Best live presentation of that first album (that I've found so far) is Best Kept Secret performance - Netherlands 2015. They play with such fire. Your Loves Whore, You're a Germ and Giant Peach sounding so great in particular.

When I saw them in Nov. Ellie was trying to do one of the little solo bit's during "Visions of a life", she started to struggle a bit and made a goofy face at Theo and just gave up midway thru. It was pretty funny. They have a lot of fun on stage though.
@@VIDS2013 yeah, I mean, I'm a vocalist who also plays keys and guitar live, and I really enjoy doing so, but there are some parts either whose complexity is a little bit of a stretch to combine it with singing, or which just cut across the vocal in a way that isn't at all conducive to performing both to a high standard at the same time.
@@richharding7927 You definitely have to split your brain to play and sing certain parts at the same time. Stevie Wonder can do literally anything, but most people have limits!

@Rich Harding I was thinking the same thing! That's part of why they added Ryan to the touring lineup. He frees Ellie to concentrate on singing.
