Guts, The Black Swordsman - Berserk Character Analysis

- You're probably wondering why me, a channel dedicated to Chainsaw Man, made a super long and (in my opinion) well made video dedicated to Berserk. Well, this was technically a school project. Basically, the assignment was to make anything you want about a character from a book you read and I Guts. You're probably wondering why I didn’t choose Denji well thats because A) He’s not a very school appropriate character (well neither is Guts but he’s easier to skirt around the violent stuff) B) All I’ve been doing is talking about Chainsaw Man and wanted to talk about something else. C) I love Berserk and Guts. Hope you enjoyed it cause I really think this is one the best videos I have ever made.

Berserk is my favorite manga / anime of all the time, period. I read Berserk for the first time when I was in high school and thought I would see how this ends at least when I reached 30's. I'm 36 now and it's so sad that I will not see the "original ending" of Berserk.
Berserk is very old-school manga, I miss the good old days of manga, it had a cast of dynamic characters and an in-depth story-line.
I'll never get tired of Berserk videos.
This video is criminaly underrated, had me in tears at the end
Guts is one of my role models as funny as it sounds. looking at his story helped through my depression.

Making this made me feel the same way. Writing the video and going through Berserk again made it feel like I was experiencing it all for the first time again. I still don’t know why but I’m glad it could help others.

I think you skipped some extremely important parts like guts trauma and why Casca lost her sanity, but I can see why
I definitely would have if this wasn’t a school project and some of the casca stuff isn’t something I necessarily wanna show my teacher. As for the guts stuff I wanted too but the due date for the assignment was coming in hot so I had to really wrap it up in order to have it done on time.
Mane we need some studio like mappa to just suck it up and animate this series I know it’s dark and not for the feint of heart. But this is an easy money grab and a series that many want.
If anybody should animate it, personally I think it would be Powerhouse Animation Studios. They were the people behind the amazing Castlevania anime that had a Berserk reference every 3 seconds. They've listed Berserk tons of times as inspiration for the series. You can tell how much the studio loves Berserk and for them to animate it would be a pure passion project.
@@LoungeAct_ powerhouse shit even ufotable would be good all these studios currently work on darker titles so I’d be behind any of them giving it the proper animation it deserves. The guys that did the 2022 version of the golden arc that just dropped did way better than the 2016 version. Companies just try to overdue it with the cgi

If you want to to get into reading Berserk, the deluxe editions are very much worth their price. Each one has 3 volumes, large, leather hardcover, and even a little red string book mark. You can find them discounted a lot on amazon. If you don’t want to pay money, just go the usual route of sites like Mangadex or Mangapill.

Yeah. Unfortunately, as I mentioned in the description this was a school project so I needed to have it done on time. I realized how long the script was and knew I needed to kinda wrap it up almost halfway through in order to get it done by the deadline. This unfortunately meant I didn’t have time to talk about much more than Golden Age. If I had a lot more time to do it, this video would have easily been 30 mins long.
