- Detailed steps to design One Way Slab has been explained clearly, all the checks ie check for deflection, check for development length, check for shear has been explained in detail.
When ratio of longer span to shorter span is greater than 2 than it is considered as one way slab, it rests on two supports and around 84% load is taken by short span where as 16% is taken by long span, main reinforcement is provided along short span and distribution steel is provided along long span

The word" teacher" meaning define by ur teaching style and explanation
& thanks fram JADAVPUR JUNVERSITY.....😍
Thanks a lot, this comment means a lot to me, keep watching and supporting
Sir,the lecture was very nice,in last step for calculating Tbd ,we have to take 60% increase for deformed bars .so it will be 1.6x1.2 for M20
sir ur lectures are very useful but pls make a video for how to draw by using these values pls upload nxt day sir
Sir, the way you explain different topics in your videos is just great in one word.
So nice of you, Thank you, keep supporting by sharing
Excellent explained
thank you sir....u r the best
Structural analysis!!Thanks 👍
Most welcome!
Dear sir,
For dead load you calculated, 25*1*0.175 = 4.375 kN/m2
I think the unit should be kN/m
25 kN/m3 x 1m x 0.175 m = kNm2/m3 = kN/m
Please verify
thank your lecture sir
i need a lecturer like you...thank you sir
Most welcome, so nice of you, keep watching and keep supporting
Provide more videos on different topics also sir ...... Very helpful 👍
It was so so good ...👍..explanation was great 👍
Thank you! 😃 All the best, keep watching and sharing
Sir, for the longer span to shorter span ratio you have used in to in distance for Ly and Lx ,but don't we have to use C/C distance of both Ly and Lx?
Thank you so much sir ji ❤️🙏
Most welcome, keep watching and sharing
I passed this subject
By yours teach🙏❣️
Hello engineer.....
I had read lot of books about design for footing then I found some thing is missing them I came across "pillai and Menon" after ramamuthram and I found ur teaching so easy and understandable with code provisions.....plz work on designing solutions ( being str.engg ) it helps me. ....to get old knowledge back.....plz show:
Column, slab, mat,raft,sloped,can't.slab.....and more designs and plz refer books with code provisions......
Thanks a lot for this kind of appreciation, it gives me boost to come up with more videos, surely will consider your suggestions in coming videos
See here more
Thankyou sir
Nice
Helpful
Thank you, stay tuned for more designs
Dear Sir, could you please tell me how to find/get the live load of any slab?
sir, please update about the design of flanged beam
How do you provide bars of 8mm and in another videos 16mm and 6 mmm by your own can you please explain
Sir in step 5 , the formula you use for Ast is given on which page number of the code ?
Sir the lecture is very nice but I have a doubt that does not in one way slab required short term and long term deflection check ?
In which condition we use modification factor
Sir plz make videos on reinforcement detailing.it will be very usefull for us
Sure will do it
If AST min (dist steel) > AST ( main steel)
what does that explains? Does that mean reinforcement is not required?
same question
I need a barbending drawing for this one way slab design
thank u so much sir
Most welcome
See here more
@@structuralanalysisanddesign sir kindly provide sketches of the reinforcement
33:00 here you have said that Ast required is 290 but shouldn't it be Ast min i.e. 210 mm^2?
So confused...load unit is KN/m^2 and then using this unit, moment will come in KN only not KN-m!!!????....
Edit: if you are confused about it than this is the answer:
Live load is in KN/m^2...and we have to multiply it with b(in case of slab analysis b is always 1m ) and hence the unit will be in
KN/m...similarly for floor finish also multiply by b....
Nice, i hope everyone will be cleared, small things usually i omit considering students know the basics
@@structuralanalysisanddesign but you could have explained this...sir
Thanks Prabhat sir
Grateful if you could draw/sketch the reinforcement detailing. Thanks
Yes will do it
No problem see here
But in exams will we hv to do reinforcement detailing design compulsory to get marks??
Sir can u say which & all repeated questions we get in DTE RCC polytechnic board exams
If development length check becomes unsafe then what to do
Sir Is it reinforcement drawing compulsory we hv to do...to get marks in RCC Polytechnic DTE exams ?
need to rectify ..... for Ld calculation,4 tou bd =1.2 for plain bars ,for hysd these values shall be increased by 60%
bhai hum development length mei m1 formula alag se kyu kia?.
Sir i understood more here than in my class. Sir, in step 4 unit of Load is wrong .
Sir, if they don't mension it's a SSB Or Cantilever Or continues what value we put for eff. Depth step
Sir please make video on staircase design....
Sir why you do not use modification factors
sir Ast Or Ast min mai compare keya to Ast.. =291 aya maximum but aapn jo provide 8mm diameter lagake.. ast nikali hai o kis liye hai..
1. You please mention that the one-way slab should be designed as a neam.
2. Please elaborate the formula for M1 & Ast1.
sir, please upload rcc stair case design
sir 1 question plz.. To find effective depth , d=span/(basic value *modification factor)is this correct???
Ya its valid
sir why you have not used modification factor?
How the Ast is 335 in finding xu??
Sir i can't understand why you take less spacing
239.3 is answer but why you take 200
Plz answer
Sir modification factor is not taken why sir
Kya hum l by d ratio ko 20 se jada le skte hain
Sir request to make a video on design of strap footing (eccentric and concentric footings connected by strap beam) hope you consider my request
Hello Najam Uddin, i will definitely consider your request and surely i will come up with that soon, i hope its not urgent
Sir 1 ton kitna cft sand hota hai
Sir please make video on flat slab.
If you have no problem, upload your notes copy as PDF, then we will like it very much, we will get beautiful notes with video clips. Thanks #Abhijeet sir
I am planning to come up with mobile app where i can provide these notes at very minimal rates, soon will come up with that
Right dear
sir why we use M1 different formula for development length.?
can we use m1= mu=wl2/8=15.116 in development length
sir, your teaching is very nice. But before your are going to do problems , explain theory part..PLEASE SIR!!!
Thank you so much, ok i will try to include some theory about slabs
Yeah
Hi sir
When we design a RCC slab to determine the thickness of slab why we dont determine the thickness of it directly? I mean why we find an initial thickness for it by estimation at first and then we select a suitable thickness.
Is there any rule to follow in estimation step?
Hello, initially we take it from L/d ratio as a guidance and than check for the d with respect to moment whether it is sufficient or no
How to assume floor finish 17.5mm
Why have u not found moment by IS provisions
For effective cover you may please refer Table-16A of IS456-2000 for clear cover(2hour fire rating) + half the dia of tension bar. 🙏
How to calculate V in last step ??
Sir in the last step of development length calculation bond stress value should be increase by 60% because of Fe 415
Yes dear
Sir development length video for both one way and two way slab
Kya ham yaha pe l/d ka ratio 20 se kam lekar bhi solve kar sakte the kya agar d rqd ka value agar d provided se jaida ho jata to
For one way slab 180mm to 200mm depth should be kept for satisfying all criterias
Can you pls explain the way you choose tau c value
It will be taken from table 19 is456 2000.. page 73.
Hi
IN standard is available online
Sir kindly make a bar bending schedule as per the design
Yes, i am working on bar bending schedule, will come up soon
All About Structural Analysis and Design thanks a lot sir
Sir I have a small doubt why are u taking 8mm bar why not 12 mm can u explain me if u r free
How the unit of load became N/mm^2?
On slab load will be in per m2 or mm2
Its nice but u should have shown code each time rather that saying ive shown it in other video.. 🙄
Development length video please sir
Bro how tat dreq formula came..can u plz explain...I searched for all internet..can u plz tell
Know here
sir load Kn/m2 nhi KN/m hoga
Sir, How to place Ld=750mm for a d=150mm Simply Supported slab?
Slab rests on beam so the development length of slab will go in beam, usually beam have depth more than 230 mm
How to draw the design
Hlo sir
The floor finish value 1.5 or 1.75 kn/m^2
Pls tell which value we can assume. Thank you sir
You can assume appropriately, usually in academic numericals they take from 0.5 to 1.75 KN/m2
Do we have draw a slab sir in exam??
Sir plz Imp questions solve
Ast= 0.5fck/fy ye formula calc me solve nahi hora,
Design a cantilever retaining wall
Which book you use for this problem
Limit state design of reinforced concrete by B.C. Punmia
Sir effective cover d' ko sirf 25 he maan skte h or kuch nhi maan skte h or sir total depth of slab D k formule me to ( effective depth + nominal cover+ dia of bar/2) hota h na fir apne sirf effective cover ko he assumed krke effective depth ke sath add kyu kiya ?? Still confused sir 😅
Sir1) some problems modification factor is taken
2) Some problem modification factor is not taken
1) What is the reason for above questions ?
Sir plz make a video on long wall and short wall of two room building estimation with varendah..
I will try to do it but it may take some time
What about drawing
Sir there many books assume the l/d ratio as 30 to 35 .... Is it right... Plz tell me sir... 🙏🙏... I am confused about this
That is in case of two way slab
SIR, VERY GOOD VIDEO. PLZ SHOW THE SKETCH AT THE END OF VIDEO.
ya, from next design video i will come up with sketch
Concrete k density 24 n/mm2 hota hai kya sir
For RCC we take it as 25 KN/m3
sir what if Ly/Lx = 2
Than it should be designed as 2 way slab
explaining is good sir but very slow...
sir least value of spacing for distribution steel must be 300mm according to is code...but you took 300mm, which makes the entire answer wrong
spacing =1000*π/4 *d/ ast hai. na
Vertical deflection limit for slab and beam are different. You are designing slab by considering deflection limits of beam. It's wrong from step 2
Sir pls mention IS page numbers 😑
Ultimate load was in kN per metre square thn how did moment became kNm metre
Bro the unit of moment is KN.m
Here Xu will be 0.48 for FE 415 steel
Why u write another number sir just explain me about that
Sir you forget one thing
In distribution bar spacing m 5d, 450 , S
Jo min hota hai wo lete hai
Ye btaya nhi h
Right
@@MasterCivilEngineering 🙄🙄
100Ast/bd I got .19 then why you not done interpolation😐
Good
Number of steel bars nhi hai and bentup bars ki details bhi nhi hai😭😭😭
Sir @ 21:00 Ast min. From where did you get 0.12 and 0.15% is it there in code .. please reply sir. Please
Yes Ashly, it is there on Page 48 of IS 456-2000, clause 26.5.2.1
Thank u sir thank you so much for the reply
