    I have a mk8R at stage 1+ with EQT pushing about 450whp on e85. My car already feels extremely fast. But to see a Golf R pushing 700hp I just could not imagine how mental that is to experience behind the wheel.

    More craziness here. This is the R of all R's lol. Question about tires though. I heard you mentioning how you went down on size. I did the same and went to a light weight 18" rims and Michelin 4S. Car feel lighter for sure and hit 165 recently in Mexico and still had plenty of room up top. Going that fast are my tires safe at that speed?

    • @SportyMk7
      @SportyMk7  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Just go off your tire speed rating. Most tires can handle a quick pull to 160 or so at higher power levels as it’s mostly the tire heating up that actually causes it to blow up. When it only takes 10 seconds or less to get to 160mph it’s kinda null

    When you say the TPC went 6.0 on V-star and 5.8, are you referring to your old setup with the TPC 770? Asking because that is actually quite quick for a daily driver type setup and what I'm interested in. I mean a mid 5 daily driver, if you can keep it reliable would be amazing.

    • @SportyMk7
      @SportyMk7  Před 2 měsíci +3

      Old wheel/tire setup & or the wheels that are on the car in this video.
      Motor is very over built and can handle a lot more abuse than I’m throwing at it. But that’s the point since I usually beat on my setups via testing and racing

    • @05pharmd
      @05pharmd Před 2 měsíci

    • @SportyMk7

      @@SportyMk7 going back thru all your setups and evolution on this platform, knowing what you know now, what is the ultimate "built motor" daily driver full weight turbo set up? I can't think of anyone who would have greater insight than you since you did your own work and research and you aren't a shop trying to sell a particular turbo or fueling setup.
      Can't wait to see you post new content...really gives ppl an idea of what this platform is capable of in a built not bought setup.

    • @SportyMk7
      @SportyMk7  Před 2 měsíci +3

      @@05pharmd i think this platform will go fastest on the TTS chassis. the amount of possible weight reduction on those cars is a lot more than a Golf/S3.
      As far as turbo setups. just for simplicity (bolt on and internal wastegate) I very much enjoy the new PagParts SRX kits. As far as fueling, again, PagParts lpfp (E5LM) is killer. Its very popular on the turbo v10's and can flow pretty much anything you throw at it. im at 85%/100% @13.5v on pump e85 and if i put a voltage booster on it; it would be more than enough to flow methanol if the DI's werent an issue.

    Dam bro that 68mm seems to spool up a little slow ur sure thats the best fit for that little 4 cylinder.
    Bro is ur built R as unreliable as mine. In the last 4 months ive replaced the cam, the cam button coming off the cam, The front magnet, map sensor, rear magnet, Turbo, Boost controller solenoid, another cam, more boost leaks, blown out spark plugs..... 630 whp
    FUK this thing bro which is why im swapping it with an RS3 and just bought an IROZ 1300 kit with a 72mm motor is sleeved with custom cams and Syvex. Magnesium wheels, Dodson clutches, AP brakes, CF everything, lightweight seats, etc.... this is literally the most unreliable platform ive ever dealt with. Fully built motor, built head, A2B plenum, A2B 770 kit..... Tuned by UM. It hits hard but I usually dont go more than a week before it breaks and thats driving it lightly!
    What is front and rear rim and tire set up? Can u fit the 15's on it? I have AP racing front brakes. Thanx

    • @SportyMk7
      @SportyMk7  Před 2 měsíci

      Car hasn’t been unreliable at all. Comp wheel isn’t the cause of late spool it’s the 5+5 turbine and large AR turbine housing. I wouldn’t even really consider 52-5400rpm “late” when revving to 8000. Hate to say it but difference is the person building and tuning it. Others will never care enough to dial in a customer car quite like a shop or personal car.
      Car fits 15” wheels with no issues

      The Turbo wasnt installed improperly, The Boost controller works or it doesnt, The cam works or it doesnt lol Its just the biggest POS ive ever owned honestly!
      5400 is where mine comes it so ur not spooling that thing at 5400 bro more like 6000-6300 but the turbo makes zero power on motor so its just a slug till it hits 5400.
      UM is the very best Tuner in the busness period! Its not the tune bro its just not made to handle that much power its just unreliable which is why im swapping and TBH im bored with the power I need like 500 more WHP.
      I got a 1700 hp Trackhawk and a 1700 hp Turbo Mustang that has a 91mm on it now making 1100 whp on 93 octane weighing 3400 lbs but this thing is really fun.... when its not broken lol
